Those are some really nice tricks. And yes, scripts are Really helpful, specially when we don't have a great output. Helps us maintain our sanity 😅. I don't know about back then but Advance Skeleton provides you with the option to bake IK/Fk controllers. Under Anim > Bake > select whatever you want. Great video. 😊
Thanks, back then I did not know about the Anim > Bake solution. I did try it recently but for whatever reasons it failed me on some rigs (it converts only 1 frame, not the whole timeline). Did you encounter this issue, by any chance?
Hi thanks for the great tut, Amedeo! I wanted to ask - do you prefer using Anim Layers over using Time Editor for cleaning your mocups? Wouldn't Time Editor be better suited for this kind of tasks as it also has controls for creating Additive and Override layers + you can create anim clips and poses for various body parts there. Thanks in advance!
Great Tutorial, Amedeo! Have you used Advanced Skeleton's inbuilt Bake Tool? It has options to bake keys from IK to FK and vice-versa. Does it work the same way as your script? Thanks
Hi, I made my own script because I did not know the animation conversion tool was accessible from within the bake tool. In fact, I was baffled by the fact that ADV Skel has all the bells but I could not find that tool. Thanks for that!
Hi. Thank you very much for these excellent tutorial series. I have been having some problems with foot sliding problem and I have watched your both vidoes in here and the Escape studio channel. I have found the best solution in this video. locOnloc script did not work to me. Because I guess I have been working nowadays over directly the skeleton mocaps without using Control Curves (Advanced Skeleton). Anyway, thx for sharing your experiences which I could not find at any anyother videos.
Thanks for letting me know. I also recommend Pavel Barnev's tools, when working with MOCAP: gumroad.com/a/587011187. Overrig is pretty useful, and I did purchase the advanced animation layer tools, which greatly sped up working with animation layers.
Brother... if you are still around, do you use the same technique for foot cleanup now? If not, what do you do different? I'm trying to find an easier way out of hell.
That would be cool! You'd also need world baking, IK to FK conversion, pose and animation mirroring (I think anim mirroring might already be there), pose managers, and auto fix for sliding feet, which I think a game engine could do better at than a traditional 3d software.
cool, a good amount of info here. I saw Xsens reduced their base suit price but then saw where they added back the cost! maybe rokoko is better for my budget
At the time I tested Rokoko you could purchase the suit and give it back for a full refund if it didn't do for you. I recommend testing it in your location, before committing to it. These types of suits sometimes don't work well if very close to a lot of cabling and/ or steel beams.
@@animationpandemic yea, Im considering maybe the PN studio since it is supposedly better with interference, maybe xsens also but then its getting really expensive
My suggestion is to Try them first, don't commit to either one till you know they work for you. At the end of the day it's still a sizeable amount of money

Hi! I'll be releasing a full course on mocap cleaning soon. It uses fundamentally different methods. Don't miss it)
Hi Pavel, I actually ended up purchasing you animation layer script, which saved me a lot of time, already. Thanks for your work.
@@animationpandemic By the way, I released this course on the full cycle of mocap cleaning)
Great stuff!
Very nice content! However, what did you say at around 55:21? :l

Great video! Is there a way for us to understand every script that you use and where we can find them? For example, the picker.
It's great suggestion, thanks! The picker is Advanced Skeleton's picker. You'll get it by installing Advanced Skeleton.

This is amazing, thank you. Just need anim layers in Unreal Engine now lol.

Advanced skeleton already have built in FKIK coverter, doesnt it?
i used it regulary.
It does indeed. But for a long time I did not know that, so I wrote my own script😬
@@animationpandemic Hi, can I download your script, is it possible?
You must have worked with Jacob Welner on JCOM, no?
I did. In fact, I believe I still remember a particular shot he animated.
amazing tutorial ! but change it ;)
