Had my new Condor CQ35L out last night, fairly damp and crap conditions, was seeing a little whiteout or fog on the peripherals but otherwise the thermal has been a game changer. Use thermal spotting and NV scopes, arken 5-20 from yourself on the 17hmr and a pard NV007v on the 223. Good combination. Got x2 foxes dow befroe 10pm and home by 10.30pm. Enjoy your New Years.
Merry Christmas David, hope you’ve had smashing day with family and friends and all the very best for 2025, I’ve just invested in a Arken Zulus a few months ago so I’ll be making do with that for the foreseeable and you know for what I need it’s brillliant for rattting. Enjoy the festivities buddy, I have been watching and I’m sorry if I don’t leave as many comments but you know what it’s like when we have a channel and trying to reply to everyone we can get bogged down.
Hi David hope you had a lovely day with family. Another good video and funny as always it looks like it's getting harder to choose what scopes to purchase now
Well, some was great Stephen , I thought it was valid to show that sometimes, in the wrong conditions, even the best stuff can produce not so good results
Yep your new toy certainly looks impressive and the option not to have an LRF is good. Oh and that oven cleaner is good I was told, by the oven cleaner 😂
@ Jim, is probably the offensive jumper I had on 🤷🏼♂️🫢 There really is no logic mate, but exploding animal heads and gushing blood videos are fine, apparently !!
Happy Christmas all, yep, a good comparison of how conditions affect the image. Same with night vision especially when using Ir, too much moisture in the air kills the range and clarity. I've found with the habroks, some nights I'm blown away by the clarity and others, I can barely see a thing. Luckily in the worst of conditions, the gun doesn't want to leave the cabinet anyway. 👍
It's like trying to shoot at night when its misty/ foggy with night vision, the plus side with thermal is it still sees the heat of the quarry. always nice if you're got a good sense of humour as well😂
Hi Tim, Yes you can still see hot spots, but it’s mind blowing how bad those images can get with weather changes. Beggars belief that UA-cam blocked this video as it’s apparently “UNSUITABLE “ 🤷🏼♂️
I bought the new Habroks and the first night out was a total Pea-souper but they worked great, brilliant clarity out past 100 yrds, I haven’t tried them in the rain yet, they’re new 😂🙈.
John, that was mild temperature, mist and that really light drizzle, that prompted those images. Yes you’ll see stuff, but it’s what you won’t see is more important. Enjoy the new gear mate 👍
Well they won’t show things that don’t make their products look amazing. I’ve been out with a loan set of Habrok binoculars with a friend, he had my Falcon and I used the Habroks, and we both thought the units were faulty. Poor weather again, but , to sit watching the live image all of a sudden becoming crystal clear, is unbelievable to see. From foggy fuzz to stunning clarity in 30 seconds, just blows the mind. Hopefully some folks going out with their new first thermal, will understand a bit more now 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 That’s my point, NOT TO UPSET COMPANIES, by showing poor quality images
I am a big HIK fan and I take comfort in the company’s support and uk facilities that wipe the floor with all the other brands ! Lord only knows what happens when you have a problem with your Nockpix and other brands. My HIK kit covers me from air gun ratting and beyond any centre-fire pest control me or my rifles can manage !
I’m a huge fan of HikMicro too, I’ve bought several items and still use them every time I’m out. I personally don’t think there is anything out there that will beat their technology, it’s just a great shame things got all messy after the August bank holiday firmware update problem. That started out with me being it full and total support for the company, and sadly ended up with them refusing to speak to me. 🤷🏼♂️ I don’t think I’ll ever sell my Alpex 2 or Falcon FQ35. Their UK based service centre in Lutterworth is brilliant, I had my two faulty firmware scopes sent there on the Monday and they were both returned by the Friday. Awesome job. Thanks for spending the time to write in, and indeed for watching. There’s always coffee and cakes on the table for HikMicro here, so we can discuss things that obviously got lost in translation and cultural understanding
I’ll pass on the Mr Muscle, thanks. Anyone for Fairy Liquid today? I’ve used plenty washing the Christmas dishes today. All the best for the season and New Year.
Merry Christmas David. Always nice to see a comparison video. What software is your fq35 on ? I’ve got a fq35. The latest software is awful. I reinstalled an older version with image pro back on it. Currently running v5.5.85-240425. The latest version (5.5.85-240813) makes the hot subject pop and the background all grainy, just like a damp foggy night would.
Hello chum, I’ve not updated it so it’s probably in the format. I updated my Gryphon and it’s never been the same since, so the word “Update “ tends to make me nervous now 🤔🥴 If it’s great out the box when new, and you’re happy with it, my advice, is this, Turn off the auto update button. But I didn’t tell you that 🫵😉
Thank you, David. And MERRY CHRISTMAS! I'm wishing you all the best. Jim
Cheers Jim ,
I did phone last week and left you a message 👍
Have a great Christmas

Hello chum, yes I know, but if someone writes to me, they will get a reply, maybe not immediately but they will get it.
Have a great Christmas 👍👍

Other brands are available Jim .
This got blocked as deemed “unsuitable for most advertising “ ??? 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
I just don’t understand them
@predatorprotectionuk your joking? Surely not because of the cleaning product you held up?

@predatorprotectionuk well I actually thought it was more to do with the hat you were wearing mate. But you you could be right it maybe the jumper.

nd this is why i still use day/night scope and not thermal
Hopefully that’s how DNT will gain popularity
