    🇬🇷 🌲 🌲 I miss the walk through the gorge of Samaria. You walk about 16 km from the mountains down into the sea. 🚶🚶‍♂️ At the end of the gorge you can take a boat 🛳 to Sfakia or to Paleochora. It’s a very nice daytrip. 🌲 🌲 🇬🇷

    Well my favorite is Heraklion.Amoudara beach is long sandy beach protected from big waves and Heraklion is city where you can enjoy every night not only in food but also in summer festival under night sky in old Venetian walls...

    Great video, my parents went to Agios Nikolaos and sissi and loved both holidays. A work friend goes to Elounda every year and says thats a nice place too and not too far from Agios Nikolaos i believe so im thinking of booking a holiday to Elounda for next May. Is may a good time to go weather wise? and are things open at thay time? im guessing tje holiday season will start around then ?

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  9 місяців тому +1

      A fee years ago I was there last week of May and I had a great time. Fantastic weather, not all business open but the majority, plus they were full of energy for the start of the season. Elounda is a great choice, fantastic bay and some amazing resorts. The weather in early May may be a question mark. Generally speaking May can be a bit unpredictable but generally good. Enjoy!!

    What is your take on Analipsi? I found a hotel there I like the look of. But would like to know what the beaches are like and is it within easy reach of livelier resorts via bus for example? Thank you
    Kelly

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  Рік тому

      Analypsi Beach is mostly a resort area. With nice beaches that can get waves in the afternoon with the northerly Meltemi wind.
      I am not aware of the bus schedule but the taxi to the lively areas is not as expensive. Enjoy Crete!!

    That's amazing. Thank you so much. What can you advise about transportation to all these places you suggested visiting? Do you recommend renting a car or something else?

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Carlos, thanks for your feedback.
      You have two possible choices:
      > renting car: you will be more flexible but you will have to take car of it. Parking is also another issue, especially in towns as Chania or Heraklion where you have to budget in also the cost of the car parking on top of your accommodation (unless your hotel/airbnb offers parking). In places like Sitia I never had a problem to freely park the car.
      > take the bus and organise day trip: the towns I mentioned in this video are very well connected by bus or ferry, no worries. For the day trips, for example to Elafonisi Beach or Samaria Gorge, you will have to join an organised tour.
      I find the west side of the island (Chania side) better connected by bus and I never needed a car. The east side though (Sitia side) is easier to explore by car.
      Check out this post where I added also link for all transportation systems
      mel365.com/how-big-is-crete/
      And this other post with the attraction and how to reach them

      @@StefanoFerro Amazing, thank you. We are going mid-October, I think they will not be very busy, will they? I might find parking spaces somewhere. The hotel offers parking. So, are the Scooters a big no for you?

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  2 роки тому +1

      @@kiesperto Ocober is easy going. No worries. I wouldn't use scooter for the whole trip but surely I suggest to use scooter to go to the attractions. For example, Heraklion to Chania by bus, then scooter from Chania to Elafonisi or to Rethymno
      Enjoy the trip!!

    Very much interesting video, I am planning a trip with my wife this july , so how do you see best spending it and benefit from 7 nights stay there ? We are in the 40s , love and enjoy exploring beaches and have some nightlife as well...

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  Рік тому

      Hi Jubran and thanks for your comment. I personally suggest staying in Chania, or if you are keen on breaking the week between two accommodations, then I suggest 4 days in Chania and 3 days in Rethymnon. You can see more options on my guide to 7 days in Crete (mel365.com/one-week-in-crete/). Cheers

    Is it possible to go to Chrissi island from Chania? I know is far away,but we want to rent a car.

    • @StefanoFerro
      @StefanoFerro  2 місяці тому

      It is. It's a very long trip. Keep in mind also that they closed Chrissi Island to the boats until 2023. Still no direction for 2024. Last year the boat would take you 100m from the beach and you would have to swim the last leg. We shall see on coming summer
