There is a scene in the movie "Jaws." Roy Schneider, Sheriff Brody, was scooping up chum and throwing it into the sea until the shark came out of the water. Roy slowly backs up until he gets to the wall of the captain's cabin and says, "You're going to need a bigger boat." That line was not scripted, and Steven Spielberg liked it so much that he decided to keep it in the film's final cut. Sometimes, the actor can unintentionally add a line or two, making certain scenes work better.
They left out one of my favorite moments. In Ghostbusters when Ray said ‘Shh! Do you smell something?’ He was supposed to ask if they could hear something. Bill Murray’s expression was so perfect!
Gene Wilder's "You know, morons" from Blazing Saddles should have been here. But too many of these types of lists forget that movies have been around a lot longer than the last 20 years.
Oh, you must see The Usual Suspects. It's an amazing film. It's a pity they didn't include The Mask instead of Dumb and Dumber. It's full of WAY more improvisation, some of which got reactions from the other actors.
You really do need to watch Shaun of the Dead. It's not a parody of zombie movies; it's a legit zombie movie. But it's a comedy. You can't wrap your head around that until you see it. Definitely worth watching, my friend.
Hey, Jamel, One that Screen Rant didn't include was from Tom Felton in the 2nd Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets" when Draco encountered Harry and Ron, who are disguised as Crabbe and Goyle, and upon noticing Harry was still wearing his glasses while disguised as either Crabbe or Goyle, asked, "Why Are Wearing Glasses?", to which Harry responded,"Reading", Tom Felton responds,"I Didn't Know You Could Read", the reason for that response was because Tom had forgotten what his line was supposed to have been and came up with that improvised line on the spot, which was a very appropriate thing to hear Draco Malfoy say
another moment from that joker scene, when Michael Caine opened the door and revealed Joker, he was supposed to have lines, but he was so stunned by how Heath Ledger looked that he was left speechless, and heath stayed in character and just went on.
Heath Ledger was such an amazing actor, and his role as The Joker in *The Dark Knight* was his most incredible acting performance ever and was miles ahead of Jack Nicholson's previously thought to be unbeatable performance. There was no question who was winning Best Supporting Actor 2008. Too bad it was posthumous. 😥 R.I.P. Heath.
You will LOVE 'The Usual Suspects'! I really suggest you watch it SOON! One of my FAVS! Also 'Dogma' with Ben A, Matt D, George Carlin, Alanis M, and the English guy who was in Harry Potter, can't remember his name. But an Excellent film! Funny and serious.
Harland played the cop not the "hitch hiker " Mike Starr (also in Goodfellas) played the gangster pretending to be just a hitch hiker... Doesn't matter, but it's an ocd thing 👌😆
There’s a scene in the first lord of the rings, where Aragorn deflects a dagger thrown at him. Viggo really did deflect the dagger, as the actor playing the Uruk accidentally threw it at him because it slipped from the cosmetics. They used it, because if an actor can pull that off, why not use the shot?
Leonardo D'Caprio in Django.... when at the dinner table he brakes a glass in "anger" .... he actually did that accidentally and cut himself to bleed a lot.... but just kept going with that long scene before attending to the cut in his hand! ;)
If you havent, you should watch all three of the "Cornetto" trilogy Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End. They really arent linked except for having the same cast and crew. They are some of the tightest scripts ever produced. Almost nothing is wasted or thrown away, and the more you pay attention the more you are rewarded.
You really haven't seen The Usual Suspects? That is a "drop what you're doing and watch it right now" movie. Heath Ledger's appearance as the Joker had that same effect on the whole cast. Michael Caine was supposed to have a line when the Joker entered the party, but he was so shocked by his appearance that he forgot the line. The director thought his silenced reaction was better, and didn’t go back to redo the line.
Heath Ledger as the Joker, trying to set off the bomb in the bus. It was supposed to go off on time, as soon as he hit the switch. But it didn't, and he just went with it and continued the scene. Great improvisation
Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) tried that on young Daniel Radcliffe (Harry) in the first Harry Potter movie. He threw in the line "Let's hope Mr. Potter is around to save the day" hoping to trip up the child actor. He was shocked when Daniel calmly replied "Don't worry I will be." instead of breaking character. It was so good that they left it in the movie.
The iconic Jimmy Stewart in it's a wonderful life with a spiritual improv. not in the script. The scene in Martinis bar when he's at the end of his rope..he says the Lord's Prayer..which in the moment made him break down and cry.
That wasn't improv. It was a script change made before they started filming the scene. Improv would be if Harrison Ford had impulsively pulled out his gun and "fired" it in the middle of the planned fight. Instead, he was sick and asked if they could cut the fight out of the script.
2 that I could think of are Goodfellas face slap scene between Ray Liotta and Paul Servino and a scene in Love Guru where Mike Myers breaks Thelma Hopkins after meeting her for the first time
I think one of my favorite unscripted moments in LotR is when Viggo swiped the dagger to the side with his sword. Anything Robin or Billy Crystal improvise turns out great in most cases.
Before you see "Shaun Of The Dead" see George A. Romero's original trilogy ; Night Of The Living Dead (1968), Dawn Of The Dead (1978) and Day Of Tbe Dead (1985) as well as Lucio Fulci's Zombie, The Gates Of Hell and The Beyond. You won't look at The Walking Dead the same way again. Oh and The movie that predates Romero Carnival Of Souls (1962). One last thing, the narrator said the guy sitting between Carrey and Daniels was Harlan Smith. Harlan Smith played the motorcycle cop that frank the beer bottle filled with urine. The actor between them was Mike Starr (Goodfellas). A funny thing about Goodfellas was that Mike Starr played Frenchie, a guy who helped with heists and Beau Starr (Halloween 4) , Mike's real life brother, played Henry Hill's father.
Gotta say, never heard the Damon/Pvt Ryan thing before. Never would have thought Matt could instantly pull something like that out of his ass. Impressive.
Please watch Shaun of The Dead. In fact, I recommend you the tv show Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were in before the movie called Spaced. It's only a few episodes.
They left out the scene from Midnight Cowboy where Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman were crossing the street and nearly got hit by a cab and Dustin hits the front of the cab and screams out, "We're walkin' here!" That wasn't scripted.
You can't talk about improvisation without mentioning Robin Williams. You just can't. That would be like talking about basketball without mentioning Michael Jordan, or pop music without mentioning The Beatles. RIP Robin Williams. I still find it hard to believe he's no longer with us.
Wish they'd put Deadpool into these! I knew about these, but they should've showed the Joker pushing the detonator and it not going off, when it does go off, that was a true reaction & they kept it in the movie. Deadpool had So many improvs I truly hope you see them. Thanks Jamal, your reactions are great as always! 😃
"people say i talk too much" "yeah i was just about to tell you to shut up" bruh thats me and i'm talking about the first part my family always say i talk too much but they don't tell me to shut up when i talk its a mixture of talking too fast that i ruin what i say and talking too much 😂
I only knew about Good Will Hunting, even as a huge LOTR supporter i dont believe i ever got that deep into the production, that i knew that Viggo broke his toe. But that scream surely is abit too painful to be acted! 🤐
I was aware of all of these. There is, however a difference between improvised and unscripted. Many of these "improvised" scenes were scripted ("Usual Suspects", "Anchorman 2", "Dumb and Dumber", "Two Towers").
Hey Bud!!! When you DO Watch "The Usual Suspects", DO NOT ASK ANYONE ABOUT IT! It's one of those Great Movies, like "The Sixth Sense", that has a Twist Ending!! As a Teaser, as you watch it, Pick 2 of the Characters that YOU Think might be Involved in the REAL Story of what Happened! You'll be Pleasantly Surprised, IF You're Right about the ONE that is the one Revealed!
I gotta be honest with you. You react to the best videos, but I can't take the constant pauses. I often look up the original video because I actually want to see it! You get it? Not really interested in your comments. That's harsh but it's the truth. Had to be said.
Geez, awful list in that it did not include undoubtedly the greatest improvised movie scene: Peter Sellers as Dr. Strangelove in the movie with the same name (1960) when at the end he stands up from his wheel chair when he was no supposed to. Knowing the camera was rolling he improvised the classic line "Mein Fuhrer, I can walk!" It was decided later to include it in the released film. It has to be seen as part of the entire movie to fully understand. Btw, Jamal, you should review this classic "black" comedy movie as it contains a scene regarded even today as the greatest scene in the history of cinema -- Peter Sellers plays three roles in the movie and was going to play a fourth (Major Kong played by Slim Pickens) and featured in that greatest scene. No one can claim to be an expert in movies until Dr. Strangelove is viewed.
Actually this guy is wrong. Benicio was the one who was farting the whole time in that scene making them all crack up. I don't know how he got that wrong.
First, the corrections: It's GAY-briel Byrne, not GAH-briel Byrne. He's not a woman. Also, Robin Williams won for Best *Supporting* Actor for *Good Will Hunting,* not Best Actor. Then, the recommendations: Jamel, you have GOT to see *The Usual Suspects.* It is literally one of the 100 greatest films ever made and one of the 10 greatest 90s films, right up there with *Titanic,* *Pulp Fiction,* *L.A. Confidential,* and *The Shawshank Redemption.* This film deservedly put director Bryan Singer on the map, and directly led to him getting picked to direct 1999's *The X Men.* You absolutely need to see it. Also, you definitely need to see *Shaun Of The Dead,* especially if you have seen both George A. Romero's *Night Of The Living Dead* (1968) and *Dawn Of The Dead* (1978). Now, the final comment: The very first thing I thought of when I first saw the thumbnail was that *AMAZING* improvised scene in the middle of *Saving Private Ryan* which, by the way, should have earned Matt Damon an Oscar® nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He was robbed.
There is a scene in the movie "Jaws." Roy Schneider, Sheriff Brody, was scooping up chum and throwing it into the sea until the shark came out of the water. You're thinking of the sequel.
You really do need to watch Shaun of the Dead. It's not a parody of zombie movies; it's a legit zombie movie. But it's a comedy. You can't wrap your head around that until you see it. Definitely worth watching, my friend.
🎯
Bruh…This🤣👍🏾
All the movies that Peg and Frost have teamed up for have been gold.
Hey, Jamel,

I love that someone else knows this!
🪄 For Hagrid
Oh, OH...You REALLY HAVE to see The Usual Suspects! Masterpiece!!!
The thing about the X-Men FC scene is, it shows how well Jackman embodied the character of Logan because that is a perfect fit for the character.
Also, this was before Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, so Disney did not have creative control over which curse words were used.
another moment from that joker scene, when Michael Caine opened the door and revealed Joker, he was supposed to have lines, but he was so stunned by how Heath Ledger looked that he was left speechless, and heath stayed in character and just went on.

You need to watch “Shaun Of The Dead”, my friend! You’ll love it…
Sean of the Dead is a classic must watch 👍✌️
Harland played the cop not the "hitch hiker " Mike Starr (also in Goodfellas) played the gangster pretending to be just a hitch hiker... Doesn't matter, but it's an ocd thing 👌😆
mike starr also played the clown in uncle buck
The best Improve I have ever seen was Tim Conway telling the elephant story on the Carol Burnett show. look it up here you will laugh your ass off.
SNOORK!
You MUST watch Shawn of the Dead! It’s fantastic!!! Perfect for Halloween season.
BTW my heartfelt congratulations on 900K!
There’s a scene in the first lord of the rings, where Aragorn deflects a dagger thrown at him. Hot Fuzz is my favorite movie of all time. I actually think it's funnier than Shaun of the Dead.
Don't leave out " Paul "
You really haven't seen The Usual Suspects? That is a "drop what you're doing and watch it right now" movie.
Heath Ledger's appearance as the Joker had that same effect on the whole cast. Michael Caine was supposed to have a line when the Joker entered the party, but he was so shocked by his appearance that he forgot the line. Run, don’t walk to see The Usual Suspects. It’s a great movie.
Heath Ledger as the Joker, trying to set off the bomb in the bus. It was supposed to go off on time, as soon as he hit the switch. But it didn't, and he just went with it and continued the scene. Great improvisation

I so totally remember what Hugh said in the X-men movie, I lost it. 🤣🤪😂😁
The iconic Jimmy Stewart in it's a wonderful life with a spiritual improv. not in the script. The scene in Martinis bar when he's at the end of his rope..he says the Lord's Prayer..which in the moment made him break down and cry.
Wow, I did not know that. Such an iconic movie.
I can't believe the scene with the scimitar wielding assassin in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" was ignored
That wasn't improv. It was a script change made before they started filming the scene.
Improv would be if Harrison Ford had impulsively pulled out his gun and "fired" it in the middle of the planned fight. Instead, he was sick and asked if they could cut the fight out of the script.
Jamal if you've never seen 3rd Rock from the Sun, you gotta check it out, and the Nick Frost/Simon Pegg movies!
Saving Private Ryan really surprised me!
Shaun of the Dead is one of the best comedies ever made. I envy you get to watch it for the first time! ✌🤗
Too funny and revealing thanks for posting this.
2 that I could think of are Goodfellas face slap scene between Ray Liotta and Paul Servino and a scene in Love Guru where Mike Myers breaks Thelma Hopkins after meeting her for the first time
I dislike zombie movies but even I love Shaun of the Dead. It is well worth a reaction video.
I think one of my favorite unscripted moments in LotR is when Viggo swiped the dagger to the side with his sword. Anything Robin or Billy Crystal improvise turns out great in most cases.
I think he had several in the movies, including when he fell off his horse in RotK.
Before you see "Shaun Of The Dead" see George A. Phenomenal movie.
Shaun of the Dead....an absolute blast to watch.

They left out the scene from Midnight Cowboy where Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman were crossing the street and nearly got hit by a cab and Dustin hits the front of the cab and screams out, "We're walkin' here!" That wasn't scripted.
The cab was not suppost be there. Was an actual one that somehow made it on the set.
I just said the same thing; iconic ad lib!
Please do a live reaction to Shaun of the Dead!
Sean of the Dead and Zombieland.
Shaun of the Dead is amazing!
I really love this kind of thing 😂
You can't talk about improvisation without mentioning Robin Williams. You just can't. That would be like talking about basketball without mentioning Michael Jordan, or pop music without mentioning The Beatles. RIP Robin Williams. I still find it hard to believe he's no longer with us.

Would love to see you react to films live SHAUN OF THE DEAD Jamel.
the little idiosyncracies speech directly influenced Matt Damons barn speech in saving private ryan
This was fun 🙋🏻♀️
Speaking of Zombies, (I'm watching this on Halloween), it was the star Duane Jones'idea to have his character shot in the end.
I only knew about Good Will Hunting, even as a huge LOTR supporter i dont believe i ever got that deep into the production, that i knew that Viggo broke his toe. But that scream surely is abit too painful to be acted! 🤐
The hitchhiker in dumb and dumber is not Harlan Williams, he’s in the movie, plays the motorcycle cop that pulls them over that drinks the pee
Usual Suspects has a twist that will 🤯
Please watch Sean of the Dead and The Usual Suspects! Greeaaat movies! In my top 20 favourite films. Will not disappoint. Peace out, Jamel! ✌️❤️😊🎶
My man...nice color hoodie lol GBO!🍊
“I’m walking here”; Dustin Hoffman smacking the hood of a cab in Midnight Cowboy ❤
Dude, you've got to watch the Usual Suspects. Awesome move. Don't do any research and wait for the ending. Thank me later lol
PLEASE watch The Usual Suspects! It is absolutely stellar.
You haven't seen "Usual Suspects"?
This is a definite must see.
Watch the usual suspects bro! Awesome movie👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
You gotta watch The Usual Suspects. Classic great movie!!!
Hahahaha. Rewatched this. My favorite was Dumb and Dumber clip! All were great! I only knew bout Lord of the Rings clip.
Dude you gotta check out the usual suspects. It’s brilliant 👍🏻
Didn't Bill Murray improvise a lot in many of his movies? I believe Caddyshack and Ghostbusters has some Improv..
Usual suspects. A must watch.
I was aware of all of these. There is, however a difference between improvised and unscripted. Many of these "improvised" scenes were scripted ("Usual Suspects", "Anchorman 2", "Dumb and Dumber", "Two Towers").
11:59 Hey Mr. Narrator!! For your information, that's not actor Harlan Williams in that scene, it's actually Mike Starr, do your research.
Wesley Snipes dropped the first f-bomb in "Marvel Movie History" watch the first 2 Blade movies.....we dont talk about the 3rd movie
hey @ 10:47 is that the singer from the righteous brothers

Unusual Suspects all the talking over n not showing entire cut basically kills the improve.
U gotta watch The Usual Suspect's
👍✌

That was Mike Starr and not Harland Williams
Watch usual suspects bro lol
Gotta watch usual suspects. Bad a$$ movie
You really need to watch usual suspects before some tool spoils it for you.
Screen rant had several facts wrong! Wrong actors named and who did what.
Hey
You think Im funny? Im here to amuse you???
