- Built By Legends partnered with the legendary company Mine's to create this beauty. Torn down to the bare chassis and built to what it is now, this thing is otherworldly when it comes to perfection.

I just put up four prints from Pikes Peak on my store. Two of Ken Block, two of Rod Millen's Tacoma larrychenprints.com/
When the answer to "what's your budget" is "yes" you get this immaculate gem of a car. Love the whole idea of built by legends and look forward to seeing more of their work! (Also wish i had the money for one of these lol)
Quite impressive for their first build, doesn't go too extreme and retains the look and feel of a 90s JDM car. Also love all the small details that you don't quite notice at first like the carbon bumper and lip actually being one piece and the logo integrated in the seat fabric. Looking forward to seeing how they develop with more builds in the future 👍.
😆 Yeah this is immaculate and yeah that must be the response. I want to build a shop that can do this in a few weeks. 🤔
Don't let Whistlin' Diesel near it!
It will break either way 😬

Larry was scaring Dai a little bit 🤣🤣🤣
Larry: The best thing is no electronics
Dai: Be careful a little bit. Uh oh, uh oh
😂
i mean he did enter that turn in 4th gear 😂
Refreshing to hear an R32 build that is staying true to the essence of what made the car so great and not shooting for unusable HP numbers. Please share more of these perfect executions!
Thank you Larry for an awesome video and beautiful photographs.
In the video we said the wrong parts were on the car. Apologies for the mistake. Here are the corrections.
★correction★
- Suspension system is Ohlins.
- Brakes are F Brembo F50 with 355mm RDD rotors, R Brembo F360 with 343mm RDD rotors.
You guys honestly are my dream car builder now, I'd love to see what you'd do with a 300ZX Twin Turbo!!! 💯 😍👍
Are you guys planning on opening a shop in the States?
Masa’s voice is legend. As you stated, I used go the DVD store and buy the latest version of BMI/ Hot Version.
He was very detailed in the translation I can see that same dedication in this R32.
The scene you mentioned in which the Tsuchiya drives the R34, is in the “six straight shoot out” Amuse A80 vs Mines R34
That R31 where the tuner made her own intake manifold by hand from a block of aluminum was impressive also, lots of good cars in that one, I still have it in my collection!
12:06 What suspension is this? - Aragosta! - *crickets chirping* 😂😂😂
Nice seeing my car at 22:24 haha, the black 32 in the middle, I never realized I parked next to such a special vehicle until seeing this video!
Everyone who says its not worth the price. Don't understand basic economics. It's supply/demand. Hence why nismo is charging almost a half a million dollars. You cannot get a brand new BNR32 gtr brand new in 2022. So guess what if you want to have a brand new bnr32 gtr in 2022 that is the price. Since no one else does full restoration of an vintage 90s car they can choose the price. Same thing with if you have something that no one else has you can set the price. Mine's is a legendary shop. If you know you know. Instead of bitching and complaining its not worth it etc. How about you just enjoy and brace something that is legendary and probably not many will be made.
Great content! Love builds like this. The R32 is a legend in race car history here in Australia. It eat up the V8 super cars.
Thanks for what you do Larry, it’s so good to be able to nerd out to this content with someone that appreciates it as much as you do. And seeing it through your lens is that much better
This car is pure gold, the extensive build when the chassis was bar is all the details most will never know. Then the motor and interior kept blowing me away. Mines Legend 🙏
BUT-stop talking and have some in car shots. Gear shifts, maybe a RPM camera and some beautiful speed and apexes shots. Even a lap of quiet RB engine “sound”. Here ing the soul of these is half the experience. Many thanks guys 👊🏻
Epic... Yóu were scaring the bgeezus out of Di 😂😂😂
5:07 To admit this is testament to the vision as well as the awareness of their own limitations. It's refreshing to see.
this man has a great point Larry when he says that everyone has thier own opinion of what ...
we also see this in every "hotrod" show you or anyone else ever covered.....
Larry is not shy. Puts his foot in from the get go - Gotta love that.
Thank you for this.
Been a fan of the Mines philosophy since the early 2000s (same best motoring video). It's awesome to see other enthusiasts that stay true to their concept for street cars.
Would love to see more manufacturer cars from the 90s built to this caliber, not over the top or built for a singular purpose (especially stateside)
These Built By Legends guys need to get with Amemiya-san and do an RX-7 pronto. That dude's gonna retire soon.
I said the same thing 😅
I really hope to experience these cars before my time is over. I grew up obsessed with Nissans and watching option drift videos. My first three cars were S13’s but I would love an R32, and an S15. The dreams of my childhood and even into adulthood.
Love this whole idea! I rebuilt an 89 firebird formula and a 98 cobra but always had this idea in mind.
Mine’s is such a legendary company we need more of their cars featured
That car is absolutely gorgeous 😍
It's pretty plain looking really
Great video as always Larry!!
Hope to see this out on a track soon, it makes me sad seeing it in our garage all day,lol
6:55 - Battle of the Straight 6's (Amuse vs MINE's) "It's so fast that even a dead man will scream!"
I Love Every Video You Post Larry Thank You So Much For Everything You Do Larry Chen
Kudos to Larry for remembering the video of Keiichi Tsuchiya driving Mines R34. I saw it like 10 years ago and once I see "Mines" logo I totally remember the fragment of video where you can see the tacho and how RPM just jumping from 4000 to 6000 to 9000, not "moving", but JUMPING, epic moment! "It is something else" (c)
I drove a Mines R33 GT-R many years ago, looked stock, but went like hell, they build an amazing street car
Heard that chill music and saw a beautiful r32 . Nothing is going to stop me from clicking and watching
This type of build is exactly why I’d try to build myself, any type of build, this level of quality
Ugh! What a shape... reminds me of starting off gran turismo 2. Memories...
freakin rad car. As always, thank you sir! So cool, and how lucky you are to be allowed to drive it (lucky is 100% the wrong word; obviously the result of years of hard work)
:::I can only imagine, every time you compared it to your stock car, dude's thinking, "yes, but again, this is a $400,000 example..."
This R32 is basically my dream R32
I love the content :)
if i saw this on the streets, id be one of the people who stopped in my tracks and stare with my mouth open LOL it's AMAZING!
Immaculate restoration work 👏
I wish I could be an apprentice at mines.
Oh my!! This is so stinkin cool! Used to drive by Mine’s a lot when I lived in Yokohama. I have friend who lives in Miura. Oh, what is the outro music for your videos??
Great video, the passenger keep remanding Larry to be careful, Larry Smile and keep having fun!! that's the way!!!!
the R32 is so subtle and understated, that's what makes it so appealing to me.
Currently got a big RB engine build at mines - those guys are awesome - big shout out to Aki & Dino @ speedhunters for helping
That is the exactly the right ride height and the rim size for that 32 👌
unreal car wow sooo much amazing detail and perfection
I’m 37 and I still can’t afford it 😩
work of art.
I've been JDM fanatic since a teenager playing GT2 & watching VHS tapes from Japan in the late to early 2000's. My favorite GT-R is the R32 hands down, the og Godzilla. Now, this car is INCREDIBLE....Having said that, I'm going to get some heat for this comment BUT... I feel Singer-level is a higher level than the treatment this GT-R received. This is not a "re-imagined" R32 GT-R, just improved to perfection (many of the parts are off-the-shelf i.e wheels, brakes, suspension, etc). Honestly, The Singer cars are Porsche's re-imagined and unlimited potential custom built from the ground up.
sublime, The sound is gorgeous. Mines are the Gods of Godzillas, Nothing comes close
Just perfect
So sweet, and shiny!!!
Great review Larry! - Taro
Wow wow wow 😯 just amazing
What a fantastic car !!!!!!!!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
so sick
It’s a work of art
So perfect. R32 is the best looking GTR in my opinion.
Awesome feature, love this R32. I recently featured a build with a Toohey 1000 inspired livery at an event I covered. A really clean build that just looked right, simple and tastefully done. Just like the one you featured, simple and slightly modernized while maintaining the original feel is the best way do build these cars.
I'm into the straight 6 turbo cars. I drive a BMW M2. Anyway the R32 is a high-water mark. A guy two houses down the block from me, has a R32 in a really cool red livery. It looks boss. At some point I'm gonna go and talk to him.
These types of restorations, like Singer's, are my favorite. They leave the original essence untouched, but augment the rest to modern times without deviating from what made the cars special. 🫶
Larry says they are building these for the people who couldn't afford them when they were young. Yeh $380k is so affordable nowadays, I might have to buy two of these now I am grown up with all this disposable income. Excuse me while I go flush some more of my money down the toilet because I have so much I don't know what to do with it. $380k for a restored R32 that looks like they spent most of the build budget on pointless custom plaques, badges and stickers. Nice car but they need to calm down. *Literally drives the car 10 feet then stops from 5 miles an hour* "wow it is so easy to get going..... even the brakes are so good" like wow a $380k car has a working clutch and brakes capable of slowing it down from walking pace.
well now we all kno youve never restored, tuned, or daily driven a 500+hp car. takes alota work to make a car like that feel like a comfortable daily driver yet perform very well. that kind of balance takes alot of time, money, and knowledge.
@@johnnygee_1991 did I claim to have done so? Also who is daily driving a $380k R32? And what exactly about the mods or anything in the video suggests it’s more comfortable to daily drive? It appears to have coil overs and larger wheels with smaller profile tyres. How exactly does that make it more comfortable?
@@TheRZBM hmm let's see: 2.8 instead of 2.6 for more usable power down low, turbos that are not overly big, no bucket seats but instead reupholstered stock ones, NISMO twin plate that feels like a stock clutch but with a little more bite all completed by 2 of Japan's legendary GT-R shops. All those corelate into a car that can perform with modern day cars and still be usable everyday for the average driver. Also plenty of people drive expensive cars everyday. Cars are meant to be driven and true car enthusiasts wanna do the driving, not keep it garaged up. Hey if you like that sort of thing, more power to you. But johnny makes a lot of good points that you're missing.
Cars we couldn't afford when we were younger... and even harder to afford now lol... i want one so bad
That setup is mean !
I hope theres more rs day content
god dam brilliant car love it
Should’ve seen the title, got suckered by the thumbnail. Got all the way to dog, which has great taste by the way, to get crushed when I heard the price. But geez louise what a car.
I like how he mentioned Cosmo, hopefully a few of those get the restomod treatment.🔺️🔻🔺️
🌴😎💯JC, HB, AP
I was going to comment that they did what singer does but with a r32 gtr but then you mentioned it lol
USD$380k and they can't get the hood and fender to line up
So it's basically a @tommyfyeah spec build for $380k
Dream car.
Just came across this vid. I have no clue about this genre. But $380k for a car that looks like an early 90 version of some Japanese car is simply insane. For that money I would buy Berkshire stock, wait and retire 10 years early.
Man they have to do a RE FD3S RX7 BBL car!
Tommy's engine bays look like fine jewelry like a swiss watch or something lol
The mines 34 was one of the most responsive and impressive cars I've ever seen.....this thing is just as pretty!!!
Do a video on the Prodrive P25 STI resto-mod.
What a feat of engineering
The seats look tacky and the BBL logo looks too similar to the Bentley logo. The wheels aren't doing it for me. The bay is spot on but the rest of the car doesn't flow to me.
Well I'm sure you can spec a commission to your liking but this is their prototype. The TE037 wheels may not "look good" to most people but they're supposed to be stronger and lighter than TE37's.
what gearbox is in it? i think i missed it in the video...
Cool car, I just don’t see how this is worth $380k when The 1/12 V specs are worth under 300k and the 1/4 HKS r32 sold for 400k. This might be a cool build, but it’s priced as if I could sell my skyline for more than a GTR just cause I’m pushing more power than it. But that just ain’t how it works.
The Singer concept can be used for any car. A first-gen Miata? Singer it. S2000? Singer it. ‘63 Corvette? Singer it. Model T? Civic? NSX? New Challenger? Classic Mini? MGB? SINGER THAT SHIT.
although this car is old, but still handsome
Does anybody know what alloys are on the R34 @2:27? They’ve been my favourite split design ever since I first saw them but I don’t actually know what they are. (I) love that colour/finish against the white paint, as well.
MINE's BBS RE-mg Forged Magnesium wheels. Very rare. Used to be the MINE's standard until they started using RAYS wheels.
this is the car
not 100% sold on the wheels
I would rather finance one of these over any new car right now
What kinda glue do you have to be sniffing to pay 380k for that ? lol come on guys
Where can I buy that hood?
Q:What do you envision when you build a car?
A: The cars we always wanted as a teenager but could never afford
So Mine's build cars that nobody can afford? LMAO
just be in the presence of that car must be something 🤤
What a.......dream. car.
What is the first song🎵🎵🎵
What the hell is the name of that song in his outros?! 😭🔥
bnr32 is the best gtr in my opinion. pure and simple
How much would this cost? Any other JDM cars on the list?
Nice!! How much does this build cost? Less than what Nismo charges ($500k)?
$380,000 Larry says at the start of the drive potion of the video.
for the price you're surpassing current 911 gt3 prices. I refuse I love JDM cars but dang
If you want a skyline made
ask the australians
Yeah if you want 1000+hp that not everyone can drive. 😜 Don't get me wrong: I love Aussie built skylines but something different about seeing one done that's usable everyday.
I want to see a @TommyFYeah spec GtR featured!
Clean restomod, but interior could use some more colors. Like on the alcantara stitch or seatbelt.
I'll take one but an R33 please!
It's an extensively restored, nicely tuned/modified by Mines example, but please stop comparing every restomod to "Singer" ....it's not even remotely close.....
Anybody with money can send their R32 to Mine's and have the same engine and suspension pkg done. It's all off-the-shelves parts from Mine's. Stock exterior panels and lights. Stock plastic interior.
HKS Zero-R, Top Secret VR32 (full R35 motor, interior, tranny swap), Nismo R32 CRS, Nismo 400R and Nismo R34 Z Tune are much more worthy examples (although still not close) to drag the Singer name out.
spot on
Agreed, more like oem+
“Anybody with money” can buy any of the cars you mention
So what's the big difference then? Because I see the same sort of thing done: carbon fiber bits, interior made from alcantara, engine redone for more horsepower than factory and most of all: a USED donor shell.
@@brianoconner2501
VS Singer, in short, this GTR is muuuuch less extensively changed. A Singer car cannot be pieced together a little bit at a time. Exterior and interior pieces, as well as engine packages are proprietary and are only available as a complete car (or to existing customer that wish to replace worn out pieces perhaps).
Try to recreate a Singer reimagined 911 (just the earliest commission, not the turbo or DLS), inside and out, you’ll see how impossibly hard it is, compare to this build.
No offence to this build, it’s a great great piece, I just have a problem with thumb nail graphic mentioning “reimagined”, when things done to this car has been repeated by independent track enthusiasts many times already. There’s nothing really “reimagined” about this car. Carefully modified, yes. Top quality parts, yes. Reimagined, not so much, that’s a little bit of a click bait title imo.
1st off where are you getting this $380k number?
