I'm thinking about picking up a bike for myself in the next couple months. Your videos have been extremely helpful in helping me decide whether or not a 959 is for me.
I agree all the complaints youtubers have with these bikes are totally baseless. Throttle play doesn’t matter, heat is no worse than any other bike I’ve ridden, reliability is really good. I’v owned an 899, 1199 and currently a 959 corse. If you’re thinking about getting one just do it you won’t be disappointed.
@@Paramoto959 I can totally sympathize, it's insanely expensive. I felt weird opting for it, but as I ordered it with the bike, I just added it to the already really expensive Ducati, and I just couldn't live with the side cans. As for the throttle kit, please give it a chance, it really is great for the throttle response. Also great for in city driving, when pulling away from a traffic light for example.
I got the throtle spacers which help a lot during cornering , smooth transition. The heat is a big issue if it's over 90 f weather. And that's why I got heat shield installed.. plus rapid bike evo is a must to get Maximum smooth power, I removed the gas fuel canister for smooth startup. My next step is to change the levers.
Once you've added the throttle spacers you can never go back! I added the throttle spacers on my 899, so much better for mid turn throttle maintenance. Perhaps not an issue on the street, but on the track it helps smooth out rider inputs.
Hey bud, just stumbled upon you channel and subbed! I ride a Panigale 1299S - pretty much the same as yours but larger displacement, and the S model gives me all the electronic enhancements like wheelie control, ABS and traction control, plus quick shifter etc. Having said that, I agree with you 100% on all points. I am in Sydney, Australia...gets pretty damn hot here. Sure, the Duke warms up...but it's not a problem. I've never had the engine cutout due to overheating. Throttle play, again, not an issue. Reliability on modern Ducatis is excellent. Never had a problem with mine at all. Thing is this, the Panigale and a lot of Ducati bikes in general are essentially race bikes with indicators and a license plate. You get what you pay for, and then some. You can't say I want a fucking race bike for the road, and then complain about it getting warm, or it's uncomfortable to ride. It's a fucking race bike! Be grateful you have one and that you're allowed to ride it on a public road! My 1299S power to weight ratio is in favour of power. That's insane! I have a a lot of car nut friends who WISH their car had more power than weight. Also, on a side not, I love your blogging style - truth, no polish, no censorship. I love your colourful language lol because that's how we speak down under man. No filter and no fucks given. Check out my channel and there's a video of my 1299S. I'm not a blogger...yet, I am considering starting to do so but currently researching on the hardware I need. Anyway, keep in touch brother. We share the same passion, albeit from different corners of the globe. How cool :)
Its times like this where I get really annoyed that I have to go to three separate places to see all my comments! I defiantly want to check out your channel!!! 😎
I think most of the complaints come from the Ducati haters. My 848 has under tail exhaust & I recently got some race baffles from A&R Racing and with the cats removed the heat is a non issue now. Thanks for another excellent video
I was at the dealership one day and I was told by my salesman that their Ducati rep from Italy told someone once. Yeah it gets hot, ride faster or wear leather pants. 😎😎 most Italian thing I’ve ever heard.
Defiantly the hottest running bike I've ever owned I'll give you that. But honestly it doesn't bother me. Like a Ducati rep said "Yeah it gets hot, ride faster or get leather pants". Still the most Italian thing I've ever heard. 😂😂😂
i had a 899 and sold it. bacause i was moving to another country. anyway, that heat issue wasn't a deal breaker but in city traffic it bothered me. i am planing to buy another panigale but this time i will work on heat shield :)) . fantastic bike overall. ride safe guys.
I’ve been looking in what my next bike is going to be and I’ve been reading and doing all kinds of research on the 959. Your content and this video is truly helpful when it comes to making the decision whether or not I go for the Panigale. Keep up the good work!
Thanks man! I'm going to put this comment in a video I plan on making to send to Ducati to try and get some kind of Dealer support. If that's cool with you! Thanks again 👍
I love ducatis. I had a 1098 but sold it and I'm looking at the 959 now. Just to note. All bikes get hot. It's just a matter of how the thermals are and how each company chooses to dissipate the heat. With that said, I live in Houston Texas where the heat is REAL. Sitting in traffic SUCKS my friend has an 899 and I've ridden it in traffic and it's not great. And I ain't no bitch either. I'll tough it out but the heat definitely exists. My 1098 wasn't as bad but the headers had no heat shield so over time I could feel the heat emanating from there. But yes. Heat should not be a determining factor for these bikes
The 899 I feel was hotter then the 959. I’ve sat in Southern summer 90+ degree 90% humidity stopped in traffic on black top and it wasn’t that bad. And that almost as bad as it can get. 😂😂
You seem to be very knowledgeable about these Ducatis and have very good insights on them. I know you probably be more leaning toward the V2 but I'm curious what your opinions are on the Super Sport 950s.
I know for a fact the the 1199-1299 upwards get Superhot specially in traffic. The 1199 absolutely fried my nuts in less than 5 minutes and broke my heart because I so wanted one. I rode the 899 in Traffic in Vienna and it was just fine. Ive never riden the 954 in traffic so ill take you word for it. I owned a beautiful 848 for 3 years and it was great in all conditions, Summer, Winter, wet, but it blew 2 voltage regulators, and a radiator in extreme summer heat conditions. I traded it for the 1198s and that was pretty hot and too snatchy so I sold it for a S1000rr which is a great all rounder, but it dosen't have the Pimp Factor of a Ducati. Try an 1199 in traffic and youll see what the fuss is about. :) Great blog . Please also do a full review on a 996, 998. Thanks!
I rode a V4 a few months back and made a video about it. It got warm but I didn't think it was a deal breaker TBH. To be totally forthright though I was a Firefighter so my heat tolerance maybe a little higher then some. 😎😎😎
As a happy 959 owner, 1) throttle spaces are nice, but not necessary 2) it can get hot, but that’s the nature of a v-twin, you want to feel HOT, ride an RC51 😉

Most of the complaints on the bike are completely ridiculous. Its an Italian Super Bike of course its not going to be like riding a Gold Wing or something lol
Do you find the fact that this bike doesn't have a gas gauge an inconvenience? The super sport has it so I can't figure out why the V2 doesn't have that little bit of Technology integrated into the infotainment screen.
No not really. Most super bikes don’t have one. Although that seems to be changing. The gas light turns on with plenty of warning before you need to find a gas station.
Picking up one of these in a couple of weeks. May I ask you what differences you would say the 959 has over the 1199? And what made you choose the 959? Mine are that it’s a twin. It makes the play between shifting hard especially on a 1299 since the motor will jam if you turn it just slightly and die if you don’t give it enough: stopped to first.

The only issue I see is that I would advise you to have the dealership do the services on your bike. So if that’s too far to take a motorcycle for you, maybe try and find a closer authorized Ducati mechanic. 😎
Eliminate the throttle play you’ll find it a lot better , you have to eliminate it first to realize what a pain it is, and I’ve never had that amount of play in any other bike I’ve owned .
Ducati’s especially the Superquaddro that will be in the V2 are very reliable. Once VW group purchased Ducati and Lamborghini reliability was greatly improved.
Nice info, I'm picking up a used 899 (there is also a 959 available, but Just love how the 899 looks.) and the heat is being an anticipated issue cause almost everybody who has ridden the bike are complaining about it!
I installed the spacer kit. Deff pros and cons to installing it. I wrapped the seat with a leather cover it helped with the heat also leather gear will negate any heat issues on the seat and clutch cover. Great vid!
Paramoto 959 quick shifting and down shifting with the quickshifter is alot easier. Slow speed maneuvers become shittier tho u basically need to always have the clutch in so its not overpowering with little to no throttle engaged. Deff pros and cons to it. With that said i have left my spacer kit in havent taken it back out 😂
@@Paramoto959I like Ducati ist so nice look and sound have but I sold my the Ducati 999 just because every weekend before driving something was broken. or the aluminum part of the tail broke from vibration, the exhaust blew off, and the ECU broke down. then battery every weekend for something.

Nice info, I'm picking up a used 899 (there is also a 959 available, but Just love how the 899 looks.) and the heat is being an anticipated issue cause almost everybody who has ridden the bike are complaining about it!
The 899 is a solid bike as well! Ps the heat isn’t that bad 👍👍
I installed the spacer kit. Deff pros and cons to installing it. I wrapped the seat with a leather cover it helped with the heat also leather gear will negate any heat issues on the seat and clutch cover. Great vid!
I’d like to ride a bike with the throttle kit installed to really see the difference! 😎
Paramoto 959 quick shifting and down shifting with the quickshifter is alot easier. Slow speed maneuvers become shittier tho u basically need to always have the clutch in so its not overpowering with little to no throttle engaged. Deff pros and cons to it. With that said i have left my spacer kit in havent taken it back out 😂
Sounds like the good out weighs the bad for sure! 😎😎
Planning to buy a monster and im trying to find problems to look for
I think most Italians, Ducati, Lamborghini have really turned up the reliability and quality its hard to find fault nowadays. 😎😎
@@Paramoto959 thx
How many miles are u at man?
I’m approaching about 5K as of today.
Another informative video; you rep Team Ducati well!!!
Thank you! Maybe they’ll sponsor the channel with a V4 one day! 😂
I agree with you, the heat is not that bad. In the Philippines on youtube, you see girls riding panigales in dresses. 🤣😂😂
Thats one helluva mental image!!
Downshift83 in Jacksonville.
Yeah he’s been in Florida for a minute. I’ve been watching since he was up in the North West :)
I have no complaints either those who do are pansy's. 959 owner here
😂😂😂
Header wrap
Honestly I still don't think the bike needs anything. I ride around in hotter weather then most and don't have any issue.
Ah yes it gets hot as hell.
Mine gets a little hot nothing like the full size Panigale's though 👍👍
What a freaking annoying sounding engine.
Shots fired!!!
Sell FIAT buy something Japanese
😂😂😂 We got a funny guy over here 😂😂😂
@@Paramoto959I like Ducati ist so nice look and sound have but I sold my the Ducati 999 just because every weekend before driving something was broken. or the aluminum part of the tail broke from vibration, the exhaust blew off, and the ECU broke down. then battery every weekend for something.
DEBUNK! lol..........
Exactly 😎
