This Lake is Loaded!

The string of beautiful spring days in Central Texas continues! Tried a new spot out in the hill country - Lake Buchanan. This lake is full of stripers and hybrid bass and they are extremely fun to catch. They are aggressive and hit your line with authority - and fight like crazy. I went to the Buchanan Dam boat ramp - they charge $15 to launch. It's a nice spot and the fishing there is fantastic - will definitely go there again. Bluebonnets, Indian Paintbrush, Coreopsis, Primrose, Indian Blanket flowers, and Rain Lilies were all in full bloom and the drive there was just beautiful. I would go bac
k just for the scenery. The wind picked up in the afternoon and made it pretty tough to fish - so had to call it early. Can't wait to go again...

I tie up my own, but basically a streamer with a spinner. I use 10 wt floating line with a 20lb leader.
