WOW, another awesome video!!! I get so inspired by your work!
Thanks Jason!
Outstanding detail. Always enjoy your work!
I didn't have a Ponce wheel so I just used a very pointy awl and went around my Walther's Ice House one inch at a time and put nail holes on every slat! I put on a string of Jawtooth videos and got a mug of coffee. Went pretty well.
very fast and extremely effective, I love how you scribed the joints and grain in the window frames. Sharp looking work. Cheers Rob
Thanks, though after looking at it, I should have scribed them before priming.
Great Video, Doug!!
Great tips. Thanks Doug for share your knowledge, very helpful
Cesar
Glad it helps, thanks for watching Cesar.
Doug, great video on getting that extra detail and wow factor to clapboard (or weather board, as we call it in Australia).
Cheers, and thank you for sharing. Michael.
Thanks Michael!
Awesome techniques here, I will try them for sure! Your modeling is some of the best I have seen, thanks for sharing your work!
WOW. It's really special. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Doug that was awesome I like razor and peeling the clapboard.
Another great video. A variation of this method always works well for me....
Thanks Loren, still trying to model like you...
But I am just the Padawan, and you are the Master.....
great tutorial again Doug! using the hobby knife to scribe the detail on windows and doors and door frames is an excellent idea. did you use A/I on them or was that the black oil wash?
Thanks Todd, was the black oil wash. Though I should have prob scribed them before priming, so you don't see primer color.
Excellent video and information.
Is the building shown at 7:16 eventually going to be part of a new kit?
Thanks....It's a scratch build on the layout but has kit potential.
Hi Doug. Thanks for the video. I know it takes time and effort. My dilemma is will the oil based lamp black mixed with odorless mineral spirits not soften and remove the brushed on acrylic paint underneath. I have seen this issue and creates an irreversible mess. How are you preventing this complication? Appreciated Doug.
John
It hasn't been a problem yet, and if it does remove a small anount, it'd prob just enhance the effect. BUT you could always seal it with matte finish first just in case.
Thanks Doug. Keep the videos coming. Well done my friend.
Very Nice....
From where and model number do you recommend purchasing Clapboard for HO scale.
Great demo, thanks! The brush you were using to apply the acrylic that you show for a moment at the end of that part, is it a very soft brush?
More of a medium brush, about 1/2" wide
Thank you. 👍
What would you say the common color for a rail served wooden shipping building would be. I am not sure what color to paint it and any help would be appreciated.
Any color is possible, but a safe bet is muted grey, greens, reds. But most wood buildings are painted white.
What size pounce wheel for Ho scale…
They seem to make three sizes, always choose the smallest one for HO
