I'm a list maker also. I love to be able to check things off when I get them done... it keeps me motivated and moving forward with my chores. Doesn't it feel good to be home again. Loved the snake gag. Too bad... One thing I have learned over the years with my husband is that he doesn't see stuff like that. He misses details and that is an important detail to miss, btw. Haha
I think it's because he knows I generally see details. He lets me, too! It's generally less work for him if he "overlooks" a few things. 😂
Glad You had such a good time at the show. What you've shared of it, thus far, has been spectacular! Thank you and more please!!!
Also, thanks for including us in your reunion with Benjamin! He's such a cutie and a precious baby boy!!! He didn't seem too worse for wear. I bet he got a little spoiling with his grandparents! 😍

And your garden looks spectacular. Remember: there is just the one of you working on your garden full-time, versus the many who work on the Mackinac Island gardens. Your discovery reminded me of all the houseplants my mom used to have. She was promoted to heaven in 1998. She used to have a cartoon on her refrigerator that showed a wife watering her plants. Her hair is standing up and she looks shocked but you don't know why. The husband is sitting in his recliner with a newspaper in front of his face. The cartoon bubble is over his head where he says, "If you live in a jungle, you should expect snakes."

I have to say you have SO inspired me to do drip irrigation. I absolutely do not keep up with my watering and everything suffers. I have tons of pots (though nothing compared to you) and in the ground sections. I will have to do a little at a time and go into established stuff, but I'm going to start this fall and do more early in the spring. Have to try and plan. All your videos have helped to try and figure how things can be done. I've learned many things.

I know what you mean. I live in the Texas Panhandle. We are just coming out of a horrible 10 to 15 year drought up here. The last 2 to 3 year's have been an almost if not completely miraculous recovery! Our lake is close to 3/4 full, again! It was downe to like nothing! They even took the marina and all the sailboats out of the water because it was so shallow. It was a rough time! Now, our prairies are green and full of wild flowers! The sunflowers are especially gorgeous right now. The yucca bloomed earlier and it was spectacular! Many people think our prairies and somewhat flat land with lots of river breaks and of course the 2nd largest canyon in the USA, the Palo Duro Canyon, are plain and ugly. I find this part of the country to be gorgeous!
That said... I would love to visit Australia one day! I think y'all are kinda like Texas. There is something for everyone there! All the different landscapes and seascapes and so forth. It's on my bucket list. I don't know if it will happen but I am hopeful!!!
Praying for rain for y'all! God's best to you.
      In Jesus name,
      Amen!

Watering is always such a chore for me but is always rewarding to see my plants thriving through the summer heat. Definitely the first thing being done next year is adding drip irrigation, I’m going to be giving my mom some plants that are needing to be out of pots and in the ground so I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to run the drip through the empty pot.
And for the snake, I actually had a run in with one a few days ago. I was dead heading my roses and no sooner I look down and see a snakes slithering about a foot away from me and I was in sandals. 😱 needless to say I screamed and the snake got under my plants..

Is there a limit to how many tap ins to an existing drip line before affecting the water pressure? What is the maximum length of main drip tube can I have stretched out throughout my garden beds and is it better to use the 1/2 inch drip line than the 1/4 inch one to weave throughout the garden?

Thank you Laura for sharing this video you accomplished alot. My emotions were sad and happy.I cried when Benjamin is running to you and I laughed so hard when your trying to prank Aaron.
I think you did a video on your sprinklers and I could use sprinklers like that I have an oscillating sprinkler but doesn't cover my whole back yard. And making a list well be something I'll be doing also for my back yard chores. I have a very large back yard with vegetables, fruits, and flowers. This year was my first year in growing vegetables. Thanks for your inspiration and educating us.

@18:42 I am wondering if it was the stuff y’all put down for the gophers 🐿 maybe that’s what’s killing the grass cause it was fine before but after u laid that stuff down now it’s turning yellow. Anyone else agree

Jesse Rosales I agree with you I suspected it the moment I saw it. I have been trying to get the to try the juicy fruit gum method but so far they have made no comment on wither they are interested in trying it.

Bunnie Yeah I’m glad y’all agree but what’s the juicy fruit method

My dad tried the gum method to get rid of squirrels. He would jokingly say they would stand there and blow bubbles at him. Needless to say, it did not work for him.

@@JJJ41519 You put a 1/2 stick of juicy fruit gum down the hole and they eat it. It does kill them but at least they're gone.

Thank you for sharing so much of your life with us. I remember things about our daughter when she was Benjamin's age just watching him with you. At this time in my life that was needed. Also, I love watching you create a beautiful garden. Stay safe.

You inspired me to install drip line in 5 of my 7 irrigation zones this summer. I’m nowhere near done, probably not until next summer, but I love these maintenance videos.

Mother Nature is overwatering our area again today. We are having our late September weather now so I am picking green tomatoes and cleaning out the beds. Weird to see green rhubarb being harvested as ours grows red up til the leaves and we cut off the green parts. Save some time and cut out the blanching step. Thanks for sharing the return of Benjamin. Such a cutie.
