    Seems like so many people have criticism regarding music. If you don't like what you are listening to then change the channel, no one is forcing you to listen! For those who are enjoying Xeno and Oaklander we get to share something special together. Musicians make music to inspire, express their thoughts and emotions and most importantly for people to be moved by. I love how people are willing to learn something new even if it was done many years ago in a different fashion. Keep up the epic music!

    By far the most substantial music in years. This is vocal electronic music at its purest. I hope to achieve half the magic these two have...

    just read about them on Dais website, and I had to buy vinyl so to be true to the band. Now I dont consider myself an electronic or any wave music fan, just a good music fan. It was seeing The Faint live in Seattle, Choir Boy opened for them, UA-cam Choir Boy vid brought me Drab Majesty, I bought tickets to them and see Xeno and Oaklander on the bill and yeah full circle, music, technology and a love for sound brought me here

    • @Ca11mero

      not sure if trolling. Most artist have a whole other level of creativity when it comes to analog synths, drum machines etc.

    • @jessicavlogger
      @jessicavlogger 7 років тому

      nonsense.
      the anti-digital backlash was initially a question of sound, and there was certainly a strong argument against digital for a few years in the late 80s. these arguments have been obsolete for years. what you're holding to is an ability to create sound without understanding the equipment. and, in that restricted context i will agree with you: analog gear makes it far easier for somebody that is untrained to start mashing things. but, this is not _creativity_; what it is is _pretension_.

    • @jessicavlogger
      @jessicavlogger 7 років тому

      in addition to eventually fixing the initial sound quality issues, the digital revolution brought with it an ability to order and control sound that is far more conducive to a legitimate creative process.

    Nice nostalgic new wave sound. Not only 3 SH101 but also SH-09. It's amazing how the engineering at Roland recreated the SH-101, the SH-02 and the 808-909 on their Aira machines. They sound very close.

    before i utterly shit on music i treat like a new whiskey; i take a drink, swish it around, then consume it.
    if i don't like it at first i place it on the shelf and return later for another tasting...
    here i am returning one year later and fucken hell - it still tastes like a bitter man's boot nailed to a truck tire swing set melting in the hot sun.
    That being said, here is a small list of bands and their albums that have crafted a fine sound you might enjoy:
    Factory Floor - self titled
    Joy Electric - The Otherly Opus
    Bon Voyage - L'imposture
    Void Vision - Sub Rosa
    Miss Kittin & The Hacker - First Album
    Cascading Slopes - Towards A Quaker View Of Synthesizers

      Sonia T My guess is that it's because these synths are so coveted in their own right. Using a few of them as controllers, and not for their actual sound, might be seen as decadent by those who'd be happy just to get their hands on one of those machines. Just a guess.

    a TON of bands from the late 70's early 80's done this already as single tracks, one off albums etc -- the genre is called "minimal synth"
    ....and then there ARE actually the pioneers some still around: ( as far as this particular sound) Chris and Cosey decades ahead, Human League, Cabaret Voltaire, Gary Numan, Depeche Mode, OMD....... blah blah....
    Boring ass modular excess and vintage gear boring crap,
    you could do all this mostly on one Elektron Analog Four (as far as what the dude is doing)
    Electronic Music is not new kiddies,
    and (definitely) neither is this

    • @CaughtInTheRapture25

      +liverawkstar Who said they were trying to do something brand new anyway? Good music is good music and theres no need to re-invent the wheel each time. X&O are actually one of the best Minimal Wave duo's of this era in mine and a lot of other people's opinion.

    • @teslacoilsmusic
      @teslacoilsmusic 7 років тому +9

      Hi, I disagree. I own an Analog Four, and whilst it is a very powerful machine, what Sean is doing here goes far beyond its capabilities, Eurorack is whole different ballpark. It also sounds more organic due to its unpredictable nature. However, to suggest that this is minimal synth genre...sure, of course it is, what's so bad about that? It's a great genre and it's great that we have modern artists creating new and interesting music down that vein. I don't think people here are saying this is new, I think they're just enjoying it because they like it. Peace out internet grump, hope your day gets better xoxox
