Unfortunately, this "hurricane" (really a BMW B58) is not a tractor engine. The over-complicated fuel pump system keeps failing, causing engine failure. The turbos fail, causing significant damage to the engine. These small-displacement, turbocharged engines are killing themselves trying to do the work of a larger displacement engine (see Ford and Toyota recalls for the same issues). The Cummins 6.7 I6, on the other hand, practically is a tractor engine, but more importantly, aside from being a diesel, it also has the displacement to do the job. This "hurricane" would probably be best suited in the Jeep Wrangler and some of their smaller cars, maybe even a minivan. Not a full-size truck. I currently own a Hemi Ram, but I'm not opposed to them coming out with a "better" power train for the truck. This just isn't it. I think a larger displacement I6 would be a great pairing for this truck, something in the 5-liter range. It would have the low-end grunt to do the jobs the truck needs to do, and probably a turbo for better top-end performance. Like the Cummins, but a gas version. As it is, the "hurricane" power numbers are misleading, since it develops the majority of its power much higher in the RPM band, after the turbos spool up. And since we're no longer allowed to shift gears for ourselves, the ECU will keep the engine out of that higher RPM band as much as possible to preserve what little fuel economy it has (exact same numbers as my Hemi, ironically), but it lacks the low-end grunt to do truck work, even in I6 configuration. So, I'm going to have to disagree with you. This is not a stronger engine.
