As a padre fan, I agree with the ethan salas take. He only raked in low A, and he capped out at AA. However, hes only 17. If he can make adjustments and begins to hit again, do not be surprised if he makes his MLB debut in September. This kid is mature beyond his years and such a professional in how he goes about his business. He is the next great catcher.

As a ranger fan it’s incredibly exciting to have young guys like Carter and Langford. I’m hoping to see Carter pick up where he left off and hopefully Langford does just as well. They really could be an elite duo in the outfield for several years to come. Now if only we could have some of our pitching prospects take the leap as well 😅

Hey Marc, IF you do go forward and make a top 100 prospects list, let me give you a non-biased Mariners farm guide from a Mariners fan's perspective who regularly talks with national guys. Mariners have 4 prospects that are worthy of top 100 status. I've seen about 3 different lists with all 4 mentioned so far, and numerous other lists with at least 3 of the prospects listed. Cole Young: Middle infielder (2B/SS). Last year, he spent his season in A (AND) A+ at 19 and 20 years old (July bday). His combined slash was .277/.399/.448 in 126 games. 137 hits, 34 doubles, 1 triple, 11 homers, 88 walks to 90 strikeouts (great ratio!!!!), and he also stole 22 bags. Great bat to ball, good exit velos, not a ton of pop, but projects to hit 10-15 homers per year in the bigs with a ceiling of like 25 all time maximum. Has a great eye and possibly the best plate discipline in the entire system. Threat on the bases. Decent fielder but frame and overall range push him to 2B eventually. Pipeline has him at 37 but he fits best in the 45-55 range. Colt Emerson: SS/3B. one of the Mariners' 1st rounders last year. In 24 games at 18 years old, he slashed .374/.496/.549 with 34 hits, 10 doubles, 2 homers, 17 walks to 20 strikeouts, and 8 stolen bases. I, along with others, view him as the best prospect in the system but it's close. When comparing him to Cole Young, he has a better frame, just as good, if not better bat to ball skills, better exit velos (which are close to what some view as "elite" level of exit velos), more pop (due to better strength AND his good frame), and another great eye at the plate (similar to Cole's). Somewhat of a threat on the bases. He could steal about 15-25 per year. Ultimately he's a 3B, especially if he grows any more but he's as tooled up as anyone in the system. I've seen him as high as 25 already. I ultimately think he fits in the 40-55 range. Harry Ford: Ford is a tooled-up former prep offensive catcher who's a threat on the bases. He also has a great eye, but he could be a little bit more aggro on pitches INSIDE the zone (strikes). Scouts aren't exactly sure whether or not he sticks at catcher, but since he's athletically gifted enough, he could move to 2B or corner outfield, maybe even centerfield, with ease. Worth noting that in spring training, they plan to try him out in the infield a little bit. Could just be experimental. I don't think a permanent move is in the near future. But, Ford is a 25 bag threat, has a decent throwing arm behind the plate, another great eye at the plate (notice the trend? it's pretty frequent in the Ms system). He isn't as good of a hitter as Young or Emerson at the plate, but he's definitely no slouch. If he becomes more aggressive on pitches inside the zone, he could easily take another step forward. Pipeline has him at 38, one slot behind Young, but ultimately he fits in the same range as Young (45-55) I think. I have him as my #3 prospect, behind Young. But he's not very far off #2. His slash last year was .257/.410/.430 in 118 games. He had 114 hits, 24 doubles, 4 triples, 15 homers, 103 walks to 109 strikeouts, and 24 bags. Lazaro "Laz" Montes: Montes is a POWERFUL left handed corner outfielder who has drawn comps to Astros star Yordan Alvarez. Laz destroyed both levels of complex league ball, along with low A ball after his promotion mid season last year. Last year, Montes between 2 levels in 70 total games, he slashed .303/.440/.560 with 73 hits, 19 doubles, 2 triples, 13 homers, 61 RBI, 54 walks to 76 strikeouts and 2 stolen bases. He strikes out a little bit more than the other 3, but at just 18 years old in one of his Arizona Complex league games, Laz hit a ball in game !!!!! 118 mph !!!!!. Lazaro's development depends almost entirely on his bat though. He has a slightly above average arm, but with him being so physically massive, he's kinda clumsy in the outfield. He'll ultimately become a 1B/DH type player in the end, most people believe. He has a solid eye, but like Ford, could do better at swinging at pitches inside the strike zone. I've seen him anywhere from 75 to the 100-110 range. I think something in the 80-100 range would be fair. Just for context, Pipeline had him in the "just missed" section which showed the next 10 to break the list. I'll also send this to your business email in case you don't see this. :)
Walker Jenkins reminds me of the Blaze Jordan comparison out of High School or College. ITts just tough for me, (no matter how young they are 19 and under) to rank in the Top 10 , let alone the Top 50 when all we have on tape is hitting with an Aluminum Bat. Baltimore player development has gone from possibly the worst in baseball to arguably the best under Elias, I mean it's crazy. Middle of the pack guys they've gotten in trades have become top of the rotation pitchers (Kyle Bradish) and solid rotation pieces (Dean Kremer) and draft picks (Henderson, Holliday) along with international guys (Basallo) are developed at a rate that far exceeded ETAs. Then you add in waiver claims/MiL FAs/trade throw ins that the Os made into above average to dominant (Bautista, Perez, Cano, Ohearn) and add it to MLB FA signings that become better as soon as they sign (Lyle's, Frazier, Gibson)...it's truly incredible.
According to MLB The show Jackson holiday does eventually become a power hitter because I have him on my created team in franchise mode and in his first 5yrs he hit 17 or less home runs but in his last 4yrs he's hit 24 or more home runs and in the last two years of those 4 yrs he hit 35 and 40 home runs.lol
