Rear cover might get anaerobic sealant. Allows thinner layer of sealant for machined surfaces like that. Also eliminates the need for traditional thicker gaskets.
Hey man new subscriber here. I have a 87 Trans Am with a 305 all original with only 80,000 miles on it, I've had it for 12 years. It's obviously lacking power with that tiny motor in it and your videos have really inspired me to get started on my swap! I've got my eye on a 6.0 iron block. Keep up the awesome content!
Awesome build. I've been wanting to do this for along time so I'm interested in this build for sure. I hope some time it will be possible for me to get one of these and do the same.
So is the 2.4 a good choice for a mostly stock engine? I put headers and 3" pipes on and lost a few PSI pressure so i want to put it back to stock, maybe a little more but want to stay away from fuel modifications. I am looking for the right number to get a good boost without running too lean.
Hey Matt, I’m in the middle of LSX swapping my 85 WS6 and I’m too the point where I’m deciding on powder coating my stock K Member or swapping a BMR Unit, which would you recommend if you did it all over again?
seen this car in person & seen it go down the track ,,,,,,,, VERY NICE JOB ON THE WORK RUNS SMOOTH & VERY FAST FOR A STICK ON THE 1/4 MILE mat you did a nice job on this when i do a ls conversion is it ok if i consult with you jk
What did the supercharger run you? I'm in the middle of a 5.3 swap right now but idk which way it's gonna go after it's in .. love the vids by the way!
Haha sorry I read your question wrong before. I paid 2500 for it. It came with a brand new lid, lsa fuel rail, new gaskets, and all the hardware. I bought it used off ebay, listed as a low mile warranty take off.
Hey Matt, new subscriber...looking at doing an LS swap in a 92 Camaro, what LS engines will fit in the third gen? You mentioned you wanted to do a ls3. Looking for some good reference sites.
I've worked in shops for 20 years and all the mechanics use pneumatic tools and roloc pads for gasket removal, but they're on steel or iron for the most part. Aluminum is too soft.
That Red Stuff is Anaerobic Gasket Maker!!! It Dries in the absence of oxygen. I'm a Chevy Mechanic. Use it alot. Heres the Permatex link for ya dude. www.permatex.com/products/gasketing/anaerobic-gasket-makers-flange-sealants/permatex-anaerobic-gasket-maker/
Excellent video brotha, I like how you explained the things we didn't get to see!

Can you pm me the link to the solid isolator, mine makes a rock tumbling sound.

Thanks! Good choice with the 6.0. I would love to get to upgrade to one as well someday.
Great video. Keep us updated. Very interested in this option for my LS swap.
Nice to know how to change pulley about to install one on my C5Z. Now I can upgrade my pulley and isolator 😃

I need one of those LSA Blowers for my LY6 S10 project. Thanks for the video and info.
Anaerobic sealant just like in a transmission, drys in the absence of air. For machined surfaces!
Sweet build! I am really cosidering finding a Third Gen to do a Turbo LQ4.

Where did you get your lid from...and did you have to do any modifications
Matt is the man
Thanks for really opening my options. I'm currently looking in to salvaged fifth gens. I think this engine would make a great option for it.
I know I'm kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released tv shows online?
@Vincenzo Genesis flixportal :P
@Yehuda Watson Thanks, I signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D I really appreciate it !
@Vincenzo Genesis Happy to help xD

Can you post the guy where you got the parts from? Also, the quick connect is compatible with 2.55 pulley?
Awesome video!

Prices are climbing on them now. I think the well is drying up.

They'll all fit.
The LS family of engines is like the pontiac family of engines in that they're all dimensionally the same size.
do you need supporting mods for the smaller pulley?
Does your pulley have a Set screw to the blower shaft? To keep it from turning on shaft
I have a factory ly6, with lsa . Trying to 18 to 20 psi . @7k rpm . What size lsa Pulley do I use.
Great vid
That green coupler is making rattling noise already on mine. I was told to replace it with LPE one.
Same here. I replaced it with an lsx innovations piece. Next step with be LPE.
@@lsxmatt My friend told me that his rattle is gone after getting LPE coupler. 👍 I'm gonna get LPE one soon.
Is belt slip a problem
Great vidya
Nice!👍
Coming from a tool and die guy, Never ever use a buff pad with a die grinder like that on a sealing surface!

Correct! no longer a milled surface now.
