How many major channels use that kind of clickbait, saying "99 things bulk didn't know about..." Only for almost everything to be just reading the credits or something incredibly obvious
As long as an event is not going on, you can also visit the lounge above Test Track in EPCOT if are an owner of a Chevrolet vehicle and ask. It was a nice quiet break for us. They had some drinks, magazines and private build your car consoles.
I've done DiveQuest severall times and it was always lots of fun. You got to see some of the backstage areas at Epcot and while diving, could interact with the guests at Seabase Alpha, the Living Seas restaurant as well as the sponsor lounge above it. The dolphins were held in a separate enclosure, since they liked messing with the sea turtles as well as with divers, pulling their tubes out. However, you could get close to the enclosure and the dolphins were always very curious. The coolest thing was when they "scanned" you with their sonar, you could really feel the vibration in your body. The experience started outside the park, meeting point was at Guest Relations and officially, the cast members were supposed to escort guests back out of the park after the dive, since park admission was not included in the price of the experience. But every time when I did it, the cast members just said "OK, just follow the signs to the park exit" but not checking if we actually left.
Great tidbits of trivia. One that I heard is that the secret ingredient in the sticky cinnamon rolls at the Main Street Bakery (and other venues in the US parks) is vanilla pudding mix.
To clarify , if pirates evacuated, no one “leaves their post”. What happens is that every cast member in Adventureland Attractions who is ON BREAK would stop their break and then assist , and then continue with the remainder of their break. Saying that people leave their post is inaccurate and creates the wrong idea about safety.
At Disneyland Paris, cast members at small world, Peter Pan, space mountain, big thunder, (basically anywhere) who were in superfluous positions and trained on pirates would indeed leave their posts. It’s such a huge evac and so high capacity that it needs to be open. We’d even shut the treehouse, galleon ship and anything else to evac pirates. What we wouldnt do is call people off their break because…it’s their break. Source: I worked at Pirates at DLP for over a year.
@@gdc4752 Hmm. Methinks this might be different policies from different parks? Just a theory. Depending on the severity of the evac, I could see maybe calling in people on-break (at least, who are available). I work in theme park tech support (sadly not Disney), and I’ve learned the hard way that errors don’t wait for someone’s break to be over. So I can see where people can get called in from break when the situation is bad enough. Of course, at some point I assume it’d be bad enough that you need rescue teams, not Attractions personnel. And on the other end of the scale, I can see where a more “normal” evac could just call for those in superfluous positions to aid in the evac. Admittedly I’ve never seen a evac in person, but I can see where both sides of this could be right.
@@KettouRyuujin I'm not saying anyone is wrong, just how it worked at DLP. In France, labour laws are strict and employees don't budge. Your break is your break and you won't work during it. If an evac starts during your break, fine - you'll help once it's over. Ride breakdowns with CMs getting into the water happened pretty much daily so it was nothing out of the ordinary. It was a miracle if we made it through a whole day without an evac - it wasn't an 'if' but a 'when'. It's a super complex ride with detectors pretty much everywhere so all it takes is a hand in the flume in the wrong place or someone throwing something onto a set and it's down. I even had guests step out of the boats and onto the sets several times!
I have done about a hundred Pirates evacs (in Florida) and you got it half kinda right. If the ride evacuates, cast have to get in the water ever time. Cast put on big cranberry waiters and and push the boats to evac locations where guests can step off. It's a very safety oriented process because there are places in the ride where you could easily step and drown if you're not thinking or trained correctly. There's no other way to evacuate the ride other than cast getting in the water. Pirates is basically always staffed with enough people to do an evac at all times (unless it's very late at night which is thankfully rare). There are usually even enough Pirates cast to have three or four who aren't needed who stand outside with the greeter to handle telling guests that the ride is closed. Other area cast members do not enter the ride to help evac but will sometimes assist leading guests from the backstage areas back into the park proper. Love your videos! Cheers!
The castle suite at WDW was originally meant to be Walt's on site residence -- like the legendary apartment above the Disneyland fire house. It was re-pourposed as the call center, after Walt's death. And eventually left vacant when the call center outgrew the space. BTW --- like the Disneyland apartment, there is always a light in the window (the one window in the castle that actually looks like a normal window).
Here is a valuable Disney trivia fact. The Disney Aspire Program pays 100% of your college tuition for their full time and part time employees up to and including a MASTERS degree. NO STRINGS ATTACHED. You just have to work there for 90 days to qualify. In addition as a Disney employee you get 4 annual passes, as well as more passes for your family and 20% off almost everything Disney Resorts food and merchandise. When people complain about Disney those perks worth well over $100,000 never seem to get mentioned.
Shades of Green was previously the Disney Inn, a public resort with the Seven Dwarves theming. It was one of the more cost-conscious resorts at the time.
The tower of terror matching the aesthetic of Morocco is actually a 100% coincidence. It became a rumor when guests starting seeing the construction from EPCOT and imagineers went with it. The trim of the buildings and styles are slightly different, and Disney stopped caring about sight lines in EPCOT since the construction of the EPCOT resorts. -EPCOT CM
When Disney/MGM studios opened, the entire center hub of the park, including the outdoor show theatre and the body of water by Gertie’s, created a giant Mickey Mouse face.
The Disneyland cats have their own following and web presence. While Disney no longer attempts to keep cats off the property (a large group of strays did "colonize" the Disneyland castle originally, they were removed and rehomed), they do a TNR program, which includes attempting to find homes for newborn kittens --- as a way to manage the size of the colony. And, did you just gloss over the fact that Disney encourages the cats -- because they control the mice?
To be clear, WDW’s Tink is a zip line. DL is a line that runs between the Matterhorn and a fake tree on Tom Sawyer’s island; a carriage moves along the line and also enable Tink to fly up and down on either side of the castle, line in the credits from the old Wonderful World of Color/Disney Sunday night TV show.

I was a cast member during the 24 hour day mentioned. I think the reason it was such a disaster was because there was a grad night for high school seniors the same day. There were areas of the park that only the kids were allowed in areas of the park that only regular visitors are allowed in and areas that nobody was allowed in and everyone just got confused and then frustrated and angry which led to fights
I was there for the "One More Disney Day" lol. I don't remember much as I was only 12, but it definitely was crazy. Don't think I saw anyone sleeping inside the park tho 😂😂

Is it weird that I want to be a third shift worker at Disney? Not only because I think it would be cool to be at the park when it’s closed, but also because I default to being nocturnal when not kept the other way round by work and also because I want to work at Disney even if it isn’t one of the “pretty” jobs. If I lived near it and it were a financially viable option, I’d probably go for it, but it’s one of the few jobs that pays less than my state-minimum teaching job does currently.
Best time to work those sort of jobs is typically after closing hours. Don’t have to deal with customers/guests. I worked at a Six Flags park as a costumed character (face character), and some of the guests get really unruly with us. I couldn’t work as a costumed character after hours, obviously, but I’d almost rather be locking gates and sweeping up trash then getting groped by drunk guests.
I worked third shift during the summer of 1989. Although it was custodial work, it was one of the most fascinating jobs I ever had! During my 45-minute lunch break (usually at 3:30 a.m.), I was free to roam the park and walk through any ride I wanted and see how it worked, except for Pirates which had extra security, and Splash Mountain which had just opened that summer. All ride buildings were left open without anyone watching who went in. Usually there was no one inside unless there were other custodial crew cleaning or maintenance workers who were always friendly. During that summer, I walked through every ride in the park. Two of the most fascinating rides to see behind the scenes were Star Tours and Space Mountain.
Another note about the mermaids...when ever they were present they would get hounded by the male guest, even one person jumped in the lagoon and swam out to them...and the mermaid animatronics in the original attraction were all topless.
I feel like Epcot kinda does have the International Gateway attached to multiple hotels (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin, and the Skyliner for several more). However, it is the only one so linked to MULTIPLE hotels preserving its uniqueness.
I'll also note that Shades of Green is so much weirder in its history. There are entire videos about it elsewhere on UA-cam. (also, for US active and retired military, IF you can get a slot, it is by a ridiculous degree THE best deal for a hotel on property.)
I'm surprised that the fact Hong Kong Disneyland didn't make a profit for 9 years didn't also mention that it went back into the red 3 years later and all the profits from that short period went into building a new resort, to say nothing of the money pit that is its expansions.
