I had the privilege to visit and live in your beautiful country where I spent 2 years there for my studies. That was 40 years ago. In 2017, the republican dominated administration in the state of Iowa voted to make it illegal for state workers to collectively bargain labor contracts through their unions. Even payroll deductions for union dues was made illegal. Not a single republican voted against this. We still have the unions, but they are effectively powerless.

I had the privilege to visit and live in your beautiful country where I spent 2 years there for my studies. That was 40 years ago. Coming back to my country in Europe (Switzerland), after having toured the US, my diagnostic was that part of the US had a fascist mentality, but with the big chance they they have strong institutions that prevent them from drifting. DT destroyed those institutions and now we are.

In 2017, the republican dominated administration in the state of Iowa voted to make it illegal for state workers to collectively bargain labor contracts through their unions. Even payroll deductions for union dues was made illegal.
Not a single republican voted against this. We still have the unions, but they are effectively powerless.
