I doubt the recent breakthrough will result in massive gains for Russia but this doesn't bode well to Ukraine if stuff like this keeps happening death by a thousand cuts which will eventually result in a breakthrough that will end them.
The Ukrainian forces were caught by surprise either mid-rotation or by the brigade moving out without any order, either way a mistake that could've been avoided
not massive but certainly some decent progress for russia. ukrainians forces north of berdychi will have to leve the area or will be overwhelmed as the russians are attacking from 3 sides. this will also force to troops in semenivka to withdraw as their northern flank will be threatened.

havent been following this conflict since the first weeks. I was calling for ukraine to work out terms with russia and try to restore diplomacy. you all were claiming russia was going to lose, 100 theories about how russia is using guns from 1920, russia will be bankrupt in a couple more weeks due to sanctions, how russian soldiers are eating moldy bread and starving, how russia already lost 238479 generals, making up fan fiction about how russia was losing every single battle by epic means. it scares me that a lot of you vote when you're completely delusional.

There's an high chance Russia will start a guge invasion from the north, the reason why they haven't started one yet is (I guess) due to most ua forces being stationed there.
It's basically a compromise for both sides. Fighting in the North would greatly extend the frontline and require mobilization, which both sides are desperate to avoid

The attacking side is not always the one that takes more losses, during operation Barbarossa for example the Russians took enormous losses, much more than Germany despite being on the defensive.

Ukraine prepared for it as they been at war against Russia before, have frequent border clashes, knew about Russia’s military buildup along with having international aid being provided monthly.
When everything but the aid is accounted for the war at most would take one and a half to three years.
Adding in the aid and it could last a century more or less.
Advanced weaponry makes it harder to send mass amounts of troops in an invasion cuz they can just get bombed

This likely happened because Republicans were successful in stalling aid to Ukraine, which is crucial for them to fight and win against Russian forces. If the new bill to give $1 trillion in aid passes, it may reverse this trend and allow Ukraine to regain the initiative. Although, one could also argue that Russia has learned too much from its mistakes early on and Ukraine won’t achieve any flashy offensives.
Ukraine should not see 1 dime of US money. They want money so bad, they can get it from Biden and Hunter's Burisma funneling or from the CIA's slush fund, not the American people. You want to give it to them so badly why don't you get your ass over there and fight for them, we could do without the stupidity here.

I think, if you’re on Russia’s side in this (which I hope you’re not, you’re disgusting) you don’t want the lines to break too fast. If there is a big breakthrough like what happens against Russia in the northeast of Ukraine in late 2022 I believe, and this isn’t an exaggeration, that European countries will intervene directly and this will escalate. I also know Russia could never win a war against Europe. Russia is already bogged down facing only a minuscule amount of European and American weapons (as a percentage of our GDP).
A direct war between Russia and the west would be nuclear, and a direct intervention would escalate too much
European countries doesn't have the power to stop Russia. GDP of US and Europe is inflated. Europe is unable to produce the same amount of war production as Russia.

If Russia were to use a nuke Putler would be dead within minutes, and Russia would be nuked. America also most likely has the ability to shoot down a significant number of Russian nukes but the same doesn’t go for Russia when it comes to American nukes.
Besides, I don’t think you’d want to see how ugly a world where “we have nukes we can do what we want” will get. I’m assuming you’re Serbian based on your name, so what would you think if America went to war with Serbia over Kosovo, and then if anyone tried to stop them america would threaten with nukes? Or if China would threaten Taiwan with nukes? Would that suddenly be ok? The US wanted to push Ukraine to imply the NATO doctrine tactics that is now completely outdated in the modern warfare, especially when Ukraine had zero air support, having no planes. F-16 are yet to be delivered, 300-km range ATACMS missiles just only now started coming, we haven't really seen much of anything yet

That, plus the rampant low moral of soldiers across the entire country, the entire male population trying its best to not get drafted, the increased presence of Russian soldiers (they are sending experienced contract soldiers too) in the breakthrough, and the almost certain possibility of a huge Russian offense in the north-east border, which ua is not prepared for. I remember seeing the casualties rate for Ukraine to be around 500 000, which is the highest number I could find, which is similar to Russia. Although idk if this include foreign fighters or armed cilvilians. Never seen that one and a half casualties rate though.
