    Thanks to you and your wife, I got myself a few pretty dresses (something I used to love to do) and am going dancing with friends Friday night. I withdrew completely from life after losing my Mum, precious brother and Dad. In one of your videos you said to live and keep trying new things (paraphrasing). I’d always loved to taste life but felt so defeated after losing my brother which was the final straw it seemed. I am so very grateful for this channel. Thank you.

      Oh that's exciting! Iol, I've been sitting here in the windy, rainy Blue Ridge mountains looking at the Mevagissey harbour web cam and feeling homesick. Wishing you wonderful times with your new horse! Tomorrow, I'm going to be starting serious groundwork with my "newish" horse. He's supposed to be green broke, but I'm going to assume that he isn't, just to be on the safe side. At 66 and never having started a young horse before, I'm hanging on Dwayne's every encouraging word :) So much appreciate this channel!

    Another dirtbike/ horse story while riding dirtbikes with my husband in N. Nevada. We rode from Reno up to Virginia City, we were deep in the hills and we stopped at a small pond, while sitting there off the bikes resting, a man on a horse showed up and he got off his horse and tied his horse , turned his back and we watched that horse realize it was NOT tied and off the horse ran.. that guy looked up and came running over to my husband and said can you give me a ride to catch my horse, he wont be afraid of the dirtbike he is an old racetrack horse . so my husband started his bike the guy jumped on it and off they went, several minutes later my husband returned, without the guy. He said he was able to catch up with the horse and the guy caught him. I thought for sure a horse would flat out go crazy with a dirtbike going after it. 🤔🙂 It was a great memory.

    That’s a good point about experience and success. My gelding has lived most of his life in a pasture full of cattle and horses, and tons of little streams and trees to wander through. He has a calm disposition. When I take him on a trail ride with a bunch of horses that are used to living in a stall with a paddock, my gelding is the one who keeps the other horses calm. Crossing over a stream requires nothing more than a sniff at the water and a little hop over. The other horses jump three times as high and long as they need to, and/or turn to bucking and rearing, knocking their riders off. Meanwhile my gelding has his head down, munching grass. It’s all old hat to him.

    The wind is nothing more than another lesson animals in the wild will be spooked by many things. I’m sure it’s all about the respect. Once again, the animal looks to you for guidance. When the wind blew the horse looked right at you, and instinctively didn’t panic, but looked for direction these lessons aren’t just about breaking a horse breaking bad habits once again I appreciate this very much a lot to learn from a horse or should I say the man behind the horse🤝

    I love what you do young man, wisdom from someone who cares is priceless. I don’t know the first thing about a horse, but when it comes to building courage, it’s like taking the training wheels off your bicycle for the first time baby steps, we speak the same language, and it all starts with respect I see the way you respect that horse it shows people won’t learn if they’re not respected. Animals won’t listen if they’re not respected, me and my girls appreciate you and the little lady 🐶😎🐶🤝😎😎

    I'll let you know now. I am citing you in a paper for my Ancient Near East class at Bible College. I'm writing on mythological accounts parallel on the Bible and how we don't need to be reactive but calm and proactively removing the fear rather than ignoring/removing the thing feared.

  • @Johnnyo1300
    @Johnnyo1300 Місяць тому +3

    And if the horse does follow the leader, he’s not building the confidence as quickly monkey see monkey do is a lot easier than to build the courage to do it all alone you’re right, it’s more effective and it gives them the confidence just that much quicker. I don’t know a lot about a horse, but I know about feelings and I can tell these animals can see how smart they are wisdom. Once again, you can’t replace experience. Thanks again.

    The tool that I used to desensitize my horses to bags is an empty bag of sweet feed. I let them smell the bag. Once they recognize the smell, I shake the bag. I let them react and then let them smell it again. In a short time, the horses associate any bags with feed bags. The scary thing becomes a positive thing.

    I had a mare that as a young 2 yr old "green broke" she was awesome, still needed some work on neck reining (a friend owned her at the time) but she was calm listened, great horse to ride bareback. A few yrs later, the friend had ruined her. She didn't like being caught, didn't want a saddle nothing. It was like she went wild. After the friend tried her expertise at training her again, i finally talked her into traded me the mare for a stationwagon. This horse spooked at weeds moving, water puddles (shallow), a bird flew out of the weeds she was in your back pocket. In a pen/arena she was fine, calm, cool, collected. Outside of there, the world was going to eat her whole. Her favorite thing to do was to rare up when she didn't want to do something, but only when you were in the saddle. She learned that when the friend owned(more to that issue), she was buddy sour (would dance, crow hop, rare up) for the first mile away from her pasture buddy. And you had to work her daily or you had to start from the ground up, literally. In an arena, she was great. 🤷‍♂️

    I wanted to leave a comment on this video due to your burden of forgiveness video part 2 being a few days old. But I just wanted to say I enjoyed hearing your teaching on scripture. I am 21, a new believer, and trying to figure out how to study scripture. I appreciate your style of study and am going to make an attempt to implement it into my daily studies. I know you stated there would be no videos moving forward regarding that sort of thing but I just wanted to leave a bit of encouragement that your video helped me a lot. God has graciously put me in a biblically sound church, that is not divided, open to criticism and walking along side scripture faithfully. I am sorry to hear that your experience has been troubled in the past but God is good and I appreciate you still making videos and trying to teach people truth. Praise God for another brother in Christ.

I said I will stick with “ dirtbikes, they won’t spook😉.

    In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth. He created humans too to have a relationship with Him. That's our purpose as humans that have a relationship with God. Sin, however, messed that up because it made us imperfect and imperfect creatures cannot have a relationship with a perfect and holy God. That's why we so oftentimes feel empty, unsatisfied and unaccomplished because we're not in relationship with the God we were created to be in a relationship with. But that's where Jesus comes in. Jesus is God's son and He came down to earth in human form to live the same life we do yet unlike us He never sinned. Jesus is perfect. Yet despite the fact He is perfect He died on the cross for our sins and sacrifice Himself for us. The punishment for our sins is death but because Jesus took that punishment for us if we put our faith in Him and receive Him as Lord and savior we can be reconciled to God and be restored to that relationship we were created to have. And we can be sure that Jesus is the Son of God because on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and in that He defeated death and the grave, proving that He can do the same for us if we put our faith in trust in Him. That's how you get to Heaven. That's how you become full in your heart. That's how you become reconciled to the God who created you.

    He was just simply checking you, how serious you are, but you were too polite at the beginning. You must be more strong with showing what you want to this horse. He still does not respect you and possibly any body. But of course, you can change it.

      You can look around anywhere. Horses don’t care to check, test or dominate in any which way. Simply, they’re looking for the easiest route and to not do anything unless they have to. Moreover, understanding the type of horse you’re working with matters. A lot of external variables as to how a horse may or may not react. You seem to have a very one size fits all mentality to this. I’d change it. They don't have a grand strategy. They’re problem solvers. Not planners.

      @@citiestoashYour words confirmed, what I said! This horse did not move even one leg, from his uncomfortable size, awaiting as long as the man becomes more aggressive sending him, showing, that it must be done and I am the one who will dictate... Even in wild nature, horses are searching the lider or becoming a lider themselves, this is the key to their Survival
