@@d3l3tes00n The joker should have been in this movie even as a cameo. I think his "do you want to know how i got these scars" speech was his version of " do you feel in charge"
That's it - that's what I love about films, about actresses and actors that excel at their craft. Hardy fully embraced the character. When I see him in his scenes, I see Bane, not Hardy. Same with Ledger, I only saw The Joker, not the actor that portrayed him. When actresses and actors transform into their characters and the audience is absolutely captured within the immersion, that's what I call acting.
Nolan specifically picked Tom Hardy because of his ability to research real life characters and place them into the story, also for his ability to act using just his eyes. Hardy took Bane from a fictional Mexican wrestler on roids and flipped him into a real World bare knuckle Gypsie boxer from London who was known for his odd speech cadence which Hardy replicated and adapted. Another one of his famous characters is Alfie Solomons in Peaky Blinders which was based on the real life Jewish gangster from North London called Alfie Solomon. So when you watch Hardy bare in mind he is always portraying someone real placed into a fictional World.

@@Elthenar No Marvel movie ever comes close to TDK Trilogy in terms of Cinema. TDJ Trilogy is Cinema, Marvel movies are movies (great movies nonetheless)
@@EduFabolous I repeat, that is only perhaps true of Dark Knight. The other two movies were simply ok. The Dark Knight was simply so good that it elevated the other two movies through association. Also, you are wrong. The best of Marvel rivals the Dark Knight. I mean, it's only true of a few of them but it is true. Winter Soldier, Infinity War at the top of that list. Infinity War is the closest in feel to Dark Knight. One of the things that made Dark Knight great is the the Joker was so good that it made every scene carry a palpable tension. Infinity War was one of the few movies to do the same. Plus, Infinity War had the unreal twist of the Villain actually winning in the end.
@@Elthenar You could not be more wrong, the Trilogy is what makes it all excellent Cinema, how Christopher Nolan set the emotions and tune for each film, exploring Fear (Batman Begins), Chaos (The Dark Knight) and Pain (The Dark Knight Rises). If you analyze TDK in terms of dialogue and story telling it holds more value than any MCU film ever, just the scene where Joker throws Rachel out the window during the fundraiser is a masterpiece, as Joker later in the interrogation scene says that by the way the Batman lunged to save her he would of thought the Batman was Dent, stating exactly why he chose to have Rachel as the other choice when he tied her up with explosives. Also hinting that it was at that moment that Joker realized who the Batman was. The Dark Knight is not that much about Joker as you leave the film not knowing who he was and the Joker learns nothing by the end of it. It was all about Control during Chaos. Then The Dark Knight Rises is about Batman's journey to regaining Control through Pain caused by the aftermath of TDK's ending. All movies tie up beautifully and not in a cosmetic way, where in every MCU movie there is never a sense of our heroes ever being in a position where they would really lose. Even when you say they lost in Infinity war, everyone knew they didn't, and the directors even had to write in the screen that the Avengers would return. There were no sense of risk and there were always the possibility of it all being rewinded back since they introduced the notion of time manipulation (used poorly at times).
@Captain Brandon Cinema Lover His death was sudden not goofy. This reflects what he said earlier in the film "It doesn't matter who we are. What matters is our plan." Him dying rather anticlimacticly refers to how even he himself was disposable in this plan. He was going to stay in Gotham when the nuke went off. Also the nuke was close to detonating, it wouldn't make sense to have a long drawn out death scene for him.
@Captain Brandon Cinema Lover I'd say Catwoman was one of the main characters. The reason it wasn't Batman to finish him off was to prove the point that Batman is more than a man, he is a symbol. To inspire people to do good, which is what happened with Selina. She wanted to just leave the city but she chose to come back because she was inspired by Bruce's selflessness. Alfred said himself, this city doesn't need your body master Wayne. And by the end of the movie he's done being Batman, and someone else (Robin) takes up the mantle. At the end of the movie the whole city honours Batman and will remember him for generations to come. It all goes back to what Bruce said in Batman Begins "As a man...I'm flesh and blood, I can be ignored, destroyed. But as a symbol...as a symbol I can be incorruptible. I can be everlasting."
@@ikeamonkey7372 While I get what you are saying I, by a huge margin, prefer this Bane over the previous one in Batman and Robin. Whilst the B&R Bane looked like the comic book Bane all they kept was the look and strength (and venom). He wasn't the intelligent, cunning strategist who could match Batman both physically and mentally, which is what made him one of the Bats most dangerous enemies. Whilst this Bane may not look like his comic counterpart and doesn't use venom he at least is very intelligent, a keen strategist, intimidating and is both physically and mentally able to match Batman. So while he doesn't have enough of the surface characteristics of comic Bane he has enough of the core elements of his character to be, at least for me, a far better representation that the previous one which was just a superficial copy.

TDKR is the weakest of the trilogy. There's so much dumb shit that happens in it that undermines. Batman recovering from such a huge injury and then somehow escaping the pit is ridiculous. Then he somehow found his way back into Gotham without anyone noticing. His Batman voice was even more ridiculous. Bane turning out to be Talia's puppet was a stupid twist. Selena Kyle was wasted and pointless, she could have been absent from the whole film and it wouldn't really have lost anything. It's not a bad film overall. But it is a bad Batman film IMO.
That part Bane places his hand (palm-facing up) non-threateningly on Dagget is the one of the best scenes. Even without Bane saying anything, It was a great performance that truly characterizes Bane.
How gentle he places his hand on the shoulder is the biggest mind f**k. Such a power move and a great way to let him know he was done. Most films would have gone for a big power throttle. But this was a million times more scary.
I like how the rich guy who fancies himself a 'tough guy' crumbles when he meets an actual killer who has an entirely different definition of "tough." "I can ruin your life! You'll never work in this city again!" "I can break your neck."
Funny to think that Tom Hardy (Bane) is actually 2 inches shorter than Ben Mendelsohn (Daggett). I like to imagine Tom Hardy is standing on a little stool or a box or something. 😂

@@SelfProclaimedEmperor Speaking honestly here as both a gamer and a Designer: part of what a makes a good Designer is understanding what people are saying, which is sometimes *not* what they are saying. Gamers are usually pretty good at expressing whether or not they're having fun and that should be trusted, but their diagnosis of why they're having fun can't. It's like going into a doctor's office and saying "My side hurts, Doc." And then the Doctor saying "Well, tell me what's wrong with it." You go to the doctor to *find out* what's wrong with it. Game Designers need to respect when a player says they're not having a good time and then diagnose. Certainly, gamers are sometimes correct and should always be taken seriously when they propose changes. Lots of good ideas come from gamers, but they're also not universally right and it's extremely rare that all gamers agree on what they want, making it nearly impossible for Designer to listen to the "will of the people" when the people don't agree. Most of the worst decisions that happen in games happen because publishers or non-Designer executives make a bunch of decisions that are out of designer (or even developer control). Microtransactions are a great example of this, where publishers or executives want the paycheck and designers would just rather make a great game... but can't because they're not the boss. TL;DR Designers are the doctors of games. Provide them information, but trust that they are more likely to drive to the correct conclusion than the masses. They're in it to make the most fun thing they can and they're experts in it. Publishers want the buck. I don't blame them for this, but they're the ones most likely to exert power over Designers and force them to make decisions you (the gamer) probably won't like.

1:05 interesting detail that Bane is genuinely curious about how Dagget thinks money is power. He’s probably baffled how Dagget could think he could control anyone with money when Bane has a much more effect method.

Liam neeson with Ras al ghul

Avengers Endgame is the highest grossing movie ever.
TDK Trilogy: And this gives you power over me?
Yes, because only Dark Knight was a truly great movie.
Gross doesn't mean a movie is great, but the two Infinity War movies were great.
In Marvel's defense they would all kick his ass
The shift in the music when Bane lays his hand on his shoulder literally becomes so intense in a blink of an eye perfect scene
“Speak of the devil and he shall appear”
And the way he said that....lol man was a different breed.
4 years later: Ben Affleck who played Daredevil becomes the next Batman.

@@ikeamonkey7372 While I get what you are saying I, by a huge margin, prefer this Bane over the previous one in Batman and Robin. @@TheDeconstructivist If you like them pay checks, its best to keep doing what the customer say.

@@PhilipTrouble And this gives you power over me?
Funny enough, that actually happened to me. It felt so frustrating that after almost 2 years of adminship the PC just decided to rip me off my admin privileges all of a sudden. I felt seriously betrayed
@@stefan_c.76 wtf ? 😂😂 top ten anime betrayals right here
yissssss
1:05 interesting detail that Bane is genuinely curious about how Dagget thinks money is power.
Money can be power, but I can imagine that Bane almost never had any use for money considering he was used to intimidating people into doing things his way.
He’s probably baffled how Dagget could think he could control anyone with money when Bane has a much more effect method.
Ughhh the idea that Bane didn’t snap his neck but literally twisted it around as suggestion they were going for is so creepy and smart
And a PG-13 film ..
You can actually survive having your head twisted around, but not for long. Your neck is a crazy flexible joint. There's horror stories of hunters attempting to kill an animal this way only to cause it more pain and agony before dying.
Yeah sorry for that imagery, I'll take my leave.
Ughhh he smushed his face bud
Actually I think he broke his face in order to have him die in agony.
@@aden_light I mean this is Bane, so probably all of the above.
Next time the wife tells you to throw out the garbage im gonna rest my hand on her shoulder and say "do you feel in charge?"
And if she says im your wife...reply with "and this gives you power over me?"
P.S Before trying this you must both know you are quoting a script, and she needs to be a cool wife that instinctively knows that you are playing.
... Dude. No. That's... No.
Just... don't
don't listen to these fools.....do it...but video record it.....and post...thank you...
I think your wife needs a new husband and a restraining order.
+Alex Waters I think you are in desperate need of a sense of humor.
I love the little hand on his shoulder when Bane asks him if he feels in charge! One of my favorite scenes of the movie.
imperfectlypretty
It's a subtle gesture but it gets the point across. Bane holds the power, Bane is in charge. Is that guy going to squirm out from under his hand? Nope. Bane holds dominion over that interaction.
I love how it’s not a plain old “open palm” hand on the shoulder. The way he does it, It’s a unique way of simply a presence of threat. No grab or grip no comfort from it. Just a simple deafening aura of menace and peril.😙
MAGNIFICENTLY DONE
This scene was improvised by Tom Hardy. Him putting his hand on Dagger's shoulder was not in the script. It shows how brilliant Tom Hardy is.
He improvised a close-up? Think you're being too liberal with the term "improvised"; it may have been a suggestion at best that was then shot with that in mind for post.
@@JPWick What closeup? The entire exchange is a criss-cross OS, very plausible he improvised the hand gesture
@@JPWick Well, making a suggestion is still improvising. As long as it isn´t in the script...
@Braden A It's pretty clever if it was off the bat.
@Braden A Because it made the scene. Bane shows his power off here by simply laying his hand on the man.
I bet you this comment will get over 6k likes.
And I bet you’ll never know why.
BANE knew about COVID-19 before EVERYONE else! Although did NOT practice social distancing ...
Bingo!! Predictive programming. In the meantime Bill Gates explains how the Covid test and vaccine will change our DNA forever- m.ua-cam.com/video/ksEVaO806Oo/v-deo.html

the look of fear in his assistants face when appears is chilling
The simplicity that he places his hand with. No grip, not even palm down around the shoulder. Just the slightest contact is enough of a threat
