That's when I got this one. Just wanted to make sure it would last before making a video. It's really helpful with filling small tanks. Thanks for watching.
Those pumps are handy and for the money it’s a good deal!Just keep oil in the log splitter you should be fine to split your wood. Those old cast iron engines are tough. Biggest problem with them is people run them out of oil . Thanks for taking the time to share.
Our yard is all squishy from all the rain. The garden is still mud and can't be worked in yet. We still light the woodstove every morning. It is going to be a late start in the garden this year. Can't wait for some dry warmer days. Thanks for watching.
When I bought a turkey fryer outfit about 15 years ago one of those pumps came with it. It had a replaceable gauze filter to filter the peanut oil so it could be reused. Its worked every year, but is a pain to clean. Good video as usual.
Good little pump. Easy to use. Great idea about being able to attach to can. 3D print a cap. I don't think my spring flowers are ever going to bloom. You are a week or more ahead of us.
We are so far behind this year. The cold and constant rain has made it impossible to get the garden started and the spring flowers are late. I need some sunshine. Thanks for watching.
I've seen these and wondered. Well, you fixed that for me. We used to need something like that quite a bit, but we don't use many things now that need this so I'll skip it. Will send vid to hubby as he is always interested in things like that. The flowers look grand! My iris are blooming and looking great too. Spring bulbs are all done, have been for a month. Much warmer here in middle TN I guess. Thanks for sharing.
We are very far behind this year. It has been so cold and rainy. Can't wait for the mud in the garden to dry up so I can get started cleaning up out there. Thanks for watching.
I have one of these that is virtually identical that I bought from Amazon nearly 6 years ago. I didn't expect it to last very long but it is still working perfectly. I only use it at the end of the season to suck the fuel out of equipment I am storing for the winter. It makes it easy to suck the fuel out of the tanks and then run the engine to clear out what is left in the hose and carb.
Yes you csn use this for an off grid camping shower, bought one set in in a five gallon bucket of water and inserted the flexable hose in a old shower head i had and just like that a shower..just have to flip the button off while lathering up then turn it back on to rinse off.
Not mine, any back pressure and it leaks out around the bottom. Both of them do the same thing and they are junk that leak fuel into the battery compartment. Thanks for watching.
Just before I go to the gas station with the gas cans, I put the Stabil in the cans, then it seems to get mixed in with gas a bit better, oh well what ever works. Always something with the equipment. Wow, flowers look decent.
As long as you use it is all that counts. I sometimes put it in before also but wanted to show it in the video. They're late this year with the crummy weather. Thanks for watching.
Practical for basic stuff like end of season emptying mowers or other small engine equipment. Not made for everyday heavy use. Like i said. Practical. In addition the wand does not fit into vehicle gas tanks. Only cans
Your marine stabil is dark in color indicating that it has gone bad. It should be a lighter blue. They recommend that it only last 2 years on the shelf once opened. Hope this saves you some trouble in the future
Not sure if you saw the note in the description but I tried 3 and all 3 leaked fuel into the battery compartment in a short time and I tossed them all out. Definitely don't recommend them as the ones I tried were dangerous. Thanks for watching
They work well for a while but if you leave them in the can the gas and gas fumes destroys it. If you take it out of the gas and let it dry out it will last longer and the manufacturer recommends you wash it out with soap and water. There are models that screw onto the tank but that is not a good situation as the fumes take out the electronics and the gas destroys the pump. They last maybe one year if you don't fallow these instructions. I have returned them but they only have a year warranty and as usual they last just a bit longer than that. It definitely beats lifting the gas can so I buy a new one every year or so.
I have the exact pump from Harbor Freight but mine lasted 3 times. Gas comes out everywhere while it’s on, to bad because it really worked good. I’m back to a hand crank model now
I actually bought 3 figuring they all wouldn't be bad. They all developed the same issues after a couple uses. Great idea but must be glued together with glue that gas dissolves. Thanks for watching.
Add to my list of harbor freight must haves. I bought a 14 gallon gas can on wheels with a manual squeeze handle. Works well but 14 gals is darn heavy.
The only thing I got any feedback on was that they won’t fill in the bed of the truck. That being said I think most service station attendants in my area are not up on rules or codes.if I keep it around ten gallons I can handle it. I wouldn’t buy this again as two five gal cans would be best.
2 tips 1. put stabil in your fuel container before filling with fuel and it self mixes, 2. remove the batteries when not using the pump. I have several of these pumps and they work well for what they are designed for but they are not forever pumps they are made in China and are not made for longevity.
I bought a second one and it filled the battery compartment first use. Looks like there is no seal, only glue separating the compartments. They definitely aren't made to last. Thanks for watching.
For the pricetag, I can afford to replace it every few uses. I was so impressed with the one I bought that I bought another to tear apart and figure out how to reduce the speed and flow rate, as it pumps too fast for some of my uses, i.e. putting drained coolant back into my Jeep's radiator after some significant repairs. Needs to be slower, as the coolant only trickles down through the radiator.
The first one lasted a couple 5 gallon cans but the next 2 didn't make one can before the battery compartment filled with gas. Great idea, poor implementation. Thanks for watching.
That's awesome. I was looking to get one the other day, because I want to empty out my two snowblowers, since they were full of gas. Normally I just run them until they are empty, but there is simply to much gas in them to do that. Hopefully my store stocks them. Thanks!
That's a great use for one. You may want to measure the opening to be sure it will fit in the tank. Wish harbor freight would show store stock on their website. Thanks for watching.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 bought brand new Installed new batteries, does not work. HARBOR Freight does not exchange in store. A hassle trying to call for service on line for refund. Will not buy products from Harbor Freight for refund or exchange.
Do you feel the need to rinse the pump out by pumping water or soap solution after each use? Or do you just use it for fuel, let it drain and dry, and don't worry about it?
Thanks for the tip!! I'm going to Harbor Freight tomorrow. I've been wanting to get something because the cans seems to be getting heavier as we get older. Also the high test does seem to work much better with the small engines.
Really cheap and that's good.. I've bought 4 of them and one still works with out having to get the angle of the dangle just right. There is a connection problem that the housing and cap needs to be just the right tightness for it to work. I've used a marker to Aline the connections and still it is finicky. ,
Check out the TeraPump. It is also battery operated, but can attach to the gas can. It also has an auto turn off sensor so you don't overflow the tank and the hose can be clipped to the tank so you can do other things while it pumps. 3rd generation pump is on Amazon for about $50.
Could you 3d print a connector that you could adhere to the pump and then would have the threads to screw on the gas can? Would need a breather hole in the gas can.
@Bill Kingman I bought 2 of these sometime ago (must have been on sale), but only had the occasion to use them once. The next time I needed them, I couldn't find one and the other was dead. I thought the batteries were bad; not the case. Didn't locate the 2nd one till I didn't need it. But I'm going to need it today to replace the wax seal on a toilet. It should work well to empty the residual water out of the tank & commode before I pull the toilet out.
Hi, thanks for the demo of this pump. I think they are very handy. The thing that worries me tho is if they are tested and approved by a safety organization. If these are made in China like many products today I hope they are safe to use and nobody has any accidents with them. I have seen others demo different versions of these some that do screw into the can top. I mentioned the safety aspect to one presenter and was ridiculed by them for asking how safe they are. My concerns are if they could create any sparks from the motor and ignite fumes escaping from the can or in the can. Dont get me wrong I would like to get one of these devices I'm just concerned about safety. Thanks.
These are junk as I added to the description. I tried 3 and they all leaked gas into the battery compartment making them very hazardous. There's a newer video about it. The only fluid safe to pump with them is water. Thanks for watching.
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 Thank you for your reply. Yes I agree they are probably junk. The point I was trying to make was not just for your device but others on the market too. I'm worried someone could get badly injured by one of these going faulty or being used incorrectly. Thanks again.

I like the pump, for the price you can’t beat it. I for one will be glad when this rain is gone, we’ve been hit hard all week as well.
