    I use this for wash water from a rain catch - had to be cleaned because it's greased, heavily. I ran hot soapy water through it about 10 times after a near-boiling on my wood stove... checked it for grease and couldn't find even a trace, then repeated the process. The manual tells us not to use it with water but it seems to work fine that way - better flow than I expected. For water it needs to be primed, (flip upside down and add water in the tail end.) Seems very sturdy and should last several lifetimes if cared for. Don't forget to de-grease if you plan to use it with water.
    Beautiful facing boards on your house and shed, btw. I make my own lumber as well.

    You can use a battery operated drill to turn the pump just take the handle off the pump slid drill over were the handle slides on squeeze the trigger and fill up the tank

  • @LSFprepper

    Definitely make sure the barrel is covered, or you have some way to keep water from getting down the collar into your fuel supply. Good to know these work. Looking at making a water pump/filter utilizing a whole house filter in combination with water catchment and a pressure tank to have pressurized and filtered water when the power is out.

    Those pumps that little bracket that fits the barrel that is for you to adjust where you want that pipe to sit off the bottom that's how you adjust you know the pipe that way you're not sitting directly on the bottom and get nothing you bring it up off the bottom tighten the thing down and pump away I've worked with those a lot when I was in the service they're a pain in the ass when they break too but a good one won't break and that looks like a real good one surprised for harbor freight

    • @9252LIFE
      @9252LIFE  2 роки тому

      At the bottom of the pipe it’s got a notch cut in the bottom of it that way it can sit on the bottom and not pick up any trash. I was surprised on the quality of this pump. Works great.

    Mine sucks. I bought one after watching your video and the stupid thing leaks from everywhere. It pumps the diesel pretty fast and it turns easily, but it leaks from the crank shaft and from the threads on the output tube. I even tried putting Teflon tape on the threads, but not even that stopped it. If it was attached permanently to a barrel I could just put a pan under it, but I hold it in 5 gallon cans and pump into my 100gal tank in my truck bed because with my Canopy on I don't have the room to tilt the can above the tank. Fortunately it wasn't expensive since they won't return it after it's been used. I spent more money cleaning out the diesel out of the bed of my truck and off the outside of the tank.

    • @9252LIFE
      @9252LIFE  10 місяців тому

      They were very adamant about not doing a return on it after its been used. (Same thing with the siphon hoses I get there) and UN-used they said there would be a "restocking" fee to return it. I'm glad yours is working good though.

Who knows maybe Cuomo will lift the mask mandate but I'll be set for a couple of months. didn't get more nitrile gloves yet but they also seem to have the best deal around on those if anyone needs them. As for tools my cheap cordless drill works great after over a year and the battery holds a charge even after sitting a couple of months unused.

      Well we live over 30 minutes off the road in the middle of the woods. There are no power lines or water lines /public utilities running to our property. We have a little cell service out here. I work a regular job and can upload videos there. We are not living like pioneers but living off the grid.

      Yes that works great! Just have to be very mindful when pumping fuel. Drills have a spark to them when running. But I’m not scared. 😆

    Keep the pipe off the bottom or you'll be sucking up sludge.

      I suck all of it up every time so it doesn’t get a build up.
