100% agree I carry the spike-it on my yak. Being a plastic boat the colors just wash right off unlike the carpet of a boat. Now I am going to need to go get some of those chartreusse bands to go with my clear bands.
You mentioned spilling Spike It Dye in the boat it makes mess-Spike It makes a stain remover that I also carry and it does a pretty good job of removing the stain on carpet clothes the fiberglass etc Takes a little patience and elbow grease. Thanks for the collar tip.
The move I like to do is paint my neko weights chartreuse, so I just have a hint of it sticking out of my senkos. Makes me feel more confident anyways which is all that matters lol
Love it, we do that with Neds and Jig worm heads up here in MN. It is easier for me to be confident in the bright weight for two reasons. 1. It moves much quicker through water 2. it should be playing peek a boo with fish when it digs into the silt and weeds at bottom of lakes, vs the big bright worm tail in the fishes face
If you live in Texas and you're not using pre-packaged chartreuse tailed senko style baits, Thank you!! More fish for me! There's very little ultra clear water in north Texas so I can't speak on that, but stained to 3-4ft clarity I can. Dips don't do it, you have to go factory chartreuse. The old Tiki Sticks were the best, but the Yum Dinger green pumpkin / chartreuse works really well too. I simply Texas rig it and fish it anywhere. I get bit so much I buy the Yum Dinger 30 packs now. (2 in the boat and a backup on the wall.) A 10 pack is like 2.99. Grab a pack and check it out this next fishing season when the water warms up a little.
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. The pliers looks to be better than the Rapala OG model. I have found that any colored tail worm rigged any way attracts the nipper panfish and nuisance pike. The subtle band coloration might be a winner and save baits from wear along with thieves.
The chartreuse is definitely difficult to wrap my head around. I use the orange for the tips of my craws or the legs of my craw baits. It feels natural cause I’ve seen it. I definitely need to get on those bands asap. I’m wishing I had em for my arig swimbaits right now.
Curiius of your thoughts..With recent research that has come out and bass don't have the cone in there eyes to see chartreuse wouldn't it be better to come out with red, orange or even black first. Maybe the cream and blue gills can see the chartreuse with no problem which is why the always eat the tail. Great video btw. Visor gang for life....
LowLife if it works for you, keep catching them, I do find the black and blue much easier to wrap my small mind around and throw those, it is more the nuclear bright chartreuse versions that I stay away from, Tight Lines!
Agree 💯 I use dip in the garage, pens in my tackle bag. Also, not a fan of garlic. Much prefer shad/craw/unscented. I only dye about half the size of the pre-dyed worms
I feel like fish hate dip and glow. I literally never catch fish when I use it, and I catch a lot when I don't. I think they associate the smell with lures.
All I do is use a dropshot rig with senko worms. I don't remember the color I use but its a clear brown with flakes inside and I use pink quite a bit too. I dip them in a liquid that contains anise of some sort it doesn't seem to matter what brand
they can still see the contrast, whether it is bright green is more of a mental thing for anglers, which might be the most important, because if you are not confident, you rarely do well

I Have heard of that, stopped carrying the liquid dye in the boat quite awhile ago, I will use it for off the water tackle prep, but not on the water
Got to get some. Thanks for sharing.

Much more cost effective than the Rapala cross bands as well
Pretty cool custom gear there. Thanks Rich.
Agreed, pretty stoked to leverage them more this season
@ I still have such a hard time slowing down enough to fish them. Hope you smash em this year!
@HookLife fish them on a weighted wacky or neko
Awesome job
Glad you liked it, keep the comments coming!

I like where your head is at, clear bands to hold the outside swimmers on and a chartreuse band on the center swimmer
100 correct! The pre-chartreuse ends are junk! Dip it and the pens are the move!
@@BrockOutdoors what do you think of the tinted bands?
@ like the concept but never tried them before! Might have to pick some up for this season
@BrockOutdoors you won't be pissed!
I like the chartreuse center. Perfect for bed fishing. If that spot disappears, set the hook!
Love it, well said!
junebug and chartreuse tip is always my fav color
I think Junebug with Chartreuse band could be deadly

Will they have had Green and Black bands for quite some time. You can also take spike it dye to the clear bands to make them orange or red as well
I mostly dip them because the soft plastics I use often don’t have the chartreuse option
@@HellaBassinteresting idea Hella, think I’ll try red for kicks.
@davidrauschenbach6871 maybe we can get Dan to roll out red and orange too
@@pdfahiefor sure, I got markers for my menace grubs and speed craws etc
Dude , I caught alot of bass on those Yamamoto senko, especially the black and blue in northern Ohio. I will continue to buy them

Additionally, lol, I use the black, blue, and orange dye more than chartreuse
The spike it makers i use all the time !!!
I will still carry the markers for tips of my craws and jig trailers, but for wacky the bands will be my go to in 2025
I feel like fish hate dip and glow. I literally never catch fish when I use it, and I catch a lot when I don't. I think they associate the smell with lures.
Interesting, never heard that before, most.pf my dye smells like garlic
@HellaBass could be a fishing pressure thing. My local lakes get SMASHED.
All I do is use a dropshot rig with senko worms.

not 4 clear water
You would be surprised in the number of anglers I see throw these colors in clear water up north
That's why I can't bring myself to tie on a bubble gum or chartreuse worm. Just doesn't seem like it should work.
Agreed, I definitely notice at times to catch fish on baits you don't have a lot of confidence in
You’re telling me you never seen all the blue gill with chartreuse tipped tails.
quick question, did you watch this part of the video? 3:10
Oh Rich...ya gave up some juice that many have known but few will tell. 😢

Your logic doesn't hold any water because bass are color-blind, and they can not tell chartreuse from white.
Did a fish tell you it was color blind?
they can still see the contrast, whether it is bright green is more of a mental thing for anglers, which might be the most important, because if you are not confident, you rarely do well
Bass can’t see chartreuse.
They may not see it as we do, but they can see the contrast
