Hey Jim, I really liked the poem of ep. 1, maybe include it as intro again on the last episode, or as a closing of the whole series? Keep up the good work!
I sat down at my computer Thursday night at 9 pm like I always do….all set for my fix of the Adventures of Jim Baird. I typed in his name but all that came up was his last episode. My heart rate felt slightly elevated as I raced through the internet searching for Jimmy……where’s Jimmy, where’s Jimmy? I was profusely sweating now!! What’s this shit about Labrador and Newfoundland………..I’m stuck in a freaking tent on the Bonnet Plume. Nothing….. there was nothing! I cried myself to sleep that night. I had to settle for some guy called Ted Baird……..who the hell is he? (Sorry Ted I have watched some of your excellent adventures but I had to throw you under the proverbial canoe for dramatic effect here) James Jim Baird….you were dead to me! But then Friday….beautiful Friday came and that very evening so did Jim. That night I watched Jims incredible videography. Those sweeping vistas across the wide valleys and waters of the Bonnet Plume were almost unbelievable. How could something be so awe inspiring. You captured the play of light and shadow spread across a remote and empty landscape. I’ve spent a lot of time out there in the backcountry of British Columbia and Alberta but this is something special. Keep the episodes coming Jim. Bloody amazing!!!
When other’s say things like, “I’ve always wanted to travel to Mexico, or Europe.” I’m thinking, I would love to see the Yukon! Our country is so beautiful and diverse I just want to see all of it! Especially to go a place where few have gone like many of the places Jim has gone.
The way you enjoy every single morning, even near the end when you're beat up and missing home you find every little thing to appreciate. Inspiring is an understatement.
While on river trips, every once in a while i turn the canoe around and check out the scenery from whence i came. Surprising how the perspective changes. And the beautiful scenery from a different point of view.
It just struck me how much like 'home' this place looks, but home without too many people. At home the river is within dams, the whole valley is filled with houses and there are roads, weekend-huts and cable-cars up the mountains all over the place. That means, if you want to wander around and experience nature like back 'home' you have to go to Yucon.
You Sir, are truly an epic adventurer. I can only imagine what it must be like to be self-sufficient, alone, and deep in the wilderness. Hat's off to you and a life being so very well lived!
You're a pioneer, Jim! Thanks for blazing the trail. I'm sure you could have had a more stable life with a "real" job, but what's the reward in stability? I think the greatest danger in life is to learn how to fit the mould of society and fit it well, only to learn later in life that we don't like the role we've cast ourselves in. Can you imagine being an American dentist or someone like that who can afford $30,000 hunting vacations, only to go home, knowing it was over, and face the reality of a life lived almost entirely in the city?
They, whom and ever talked about heaven is in the sky, but now I truly believe heaven in on Earth. This place is magical and mystical ❤️ thank you Jim Baird for all you do to show us these magical adventures ❤️🙏🏿🦋
GREAT video Jim... Love your perseverance to cook at 10 pm over a fire after a very long day, and that fish did look mighty delicious! Thanks and congrats for another well done video and no apologies necessary regarding the timing... I so enjoy watching and listening and appreciate your taking us along for the adventures that few others get to experience first hand in this remote beautiful country.
👋👋👋Jim!!! I Love barrel talk !! I Just Love it!!! when you sit on your barrel and recap the day with supper and the start of the morning with breakfast its the best!!! talk time ever!!! Keep it going Brother👋
That fish is making my mouth water. Thank god I have a beer and my you tube. What an adventure. Life is to be lived, and you sir are living it. Your kids will love you for it, its how legends are made. Its in the doing, not the talking. Fire is the best way to en a day.
Coming from a tropical island i just want to see a snow in my lifetime😂 i want to see alaska amd the arctic sea.. Yukon river thru your vids is amazing😍
Jim, just want to say; your videos are awesome, I think in part because of all the work you put into the shots and editing and more so because you are just an honest everyday regular decent person. Just so nice to follow along on your adventures. Totally inspirational; Thank you!
Always a pleasure to see you go on these trips Jim. Last year, after a long day paddling, I burnt through a connection pipe on my lightweight gas stove. The kind of stupid mistake you only make when you’re tired… bye bye easy coffee in the morning… Luckily I also carried a lightweight stickstove. Still not as easy as a gasstove, but more efficient than building a complete fire. No need to carry additional fuel. Keep on making these cool trips, they’re a true inspiration man; yeaaaaaaaa!
I love traveling along with you, Jim. Your camera equipment is capturing that spectacular breathtaking scenery. And I never get tired of watching you cook and eat the fish you catch. 😋
Beautiful mountains and glassy reflective waters. It really must have felt strange to see the outfitters cabins in the middle of nowhere. The fish looked delicious. Another great video of your Yukon adventure. Really enjoying all the episodes.
Cannot get enough of these videos...enjoyed all of your adventures. Keep up the epic work. BTW...the entire video was great, but my favorite parts are when you fish and set up camp, fire, and cooking fish...my son loves the way you stir your coffee with your knife...classic.
Love your sentiments about your darling children. They'll love you 10× back when, in the future, they see your film footage of this trip. Thanks for the reminder about human capacity... You are awesome. 👍🇨🇦😎🎖
Jimbo Go North young MAN !!! You paddle so smoothly and calmly as the wind is going against your face !!! Tis Nice to hear the Hawks as they fly up ahead of YOU !!! Put the tent on up and put the fish in the pan for you!!! Those were TOP NOCT cabins better than the RITZ !!!
Great episode Jim. Those fish look delicious!!😀🤗💕 Gorgeous mountains and those cabins were nice too. Again really hard to pick out my favorite scene. It was all really good!!!💟👍
Photography is awesome. I like your voice it's comforting. The scenes around you are just beyond beauty and I can only imagine the fresh smells and what would it be like to truly eat fresh grayling. I cannot stomach fish in store and tuna is for my cat. Lol
Another awesome day of paddling another beautiful stretch of river. It never gets old brother. The sad thing is that we’re only seeing a fraction of the whole, but I’ll take it while I’m sitting here in Nebraska and be grateful for the tease that we get. Paddle on,and may you always find shade.
Wow..epic scenery 👌 Nice honey hole,we're you nailed those beauty Grayling. Where is the Frank's Buffalo hot sauce? Dude, you can't have Grayling without Franks😢 Thanks for the share Brother 👊 🔥🇨🇦👊

Way to show that wood who's boss at the end! "B***stard" . Just cracked me up. Thanks again for sharing with us.
Jim: "I really gotta make up a lot of time today"
Also Jim: "I better pull over and check out this grass that's a slightly different shade of green"
Lol, true enough
The landscapes you're showing us are nuts. I now realize I will 100% have to visit the Yukon before I die.

Great stuff. Going through braids in the river must be nerve wracking. You rolled the dice and won. That's a wild place, I'm thoroughly enjoying this.
