    Ultimately I would go with Solzhenitsyn's opinion on the matter - through his book Two Hundred Years together.
    He says that the fall of Holy Russia to eventual Soviets was more or less a long time coming. That the nation had rested on its laurels and had the White / Empire movement won out, it would have been for nothing ultimately, as the nation that would come out the other side would have not been what the Holy Russian empire was in spirit.
    Bearing in mind, the timing of the "revolution" after the first world war and several other conflicts in rapid succession was no coincidence at all. Regardless of the outcome, the "revolution" was inevitable.

      The last tzar kind of made ..himself get the blame (with good help from his wife too) for Russias many problems. It was an obvious "sollution" then for a new regime to start over without a monarch. It is not easy to be a morach though, you have to be seen as extraordnary but at the same time "one of us". I doubt i could pull that balance of myself.

      Аt least those citizens of Ukraine who identify themselves with Russian Orthodox culture can move to Russia and live peacefully in safety, since the Russians have their own protected state, while Ukrainians don't have this and are constantly in much worse position .
      What's also important is that in the occupied territories of Ukraine, Russia destroys all religious organizations that don't obey Russia and are not enough anti-Ukrainian. Of all Christianity, only the Russian Orthodox Church is perceived as a legitimate structure.

    • @olgakarpushina492

      That's not a valid argument. Like saying if you're an Anglophone in the US, don't complain about the crime. Just move to another Anglophone country . Just because you are a Russian, or a Ukrainian for that matter, member of the ROC, you're still a Ukrainian citizen with all the rights. Why should they move to another country, which is not safe btw. Have you heard of the terrorist drone attack on the civilians in Moscow?

      @jtzoltan , the decline in birth rate makes perfect sense, that happens whenever a nation industrializes. It makes even more sense when the male life expectancy was 23 at one point.
      However, as to answer the question: yes. Without the rapid industrialization that happened under the USSR there would simply be no way the Russian Empire would've survived the Nazi invasion, and Slavs wouldn't nave the best experience under the Nazis.

    I always wonder about the position of Hungarians in the Russian vision of its own world.
    Although recently more dominated by Germans, Hungarian mythos seems to be more Eastern oriented: The Magyar nomads, the Carpathians, Transylvania, The Byzantine crown of Hungary, the Patriarchal Cross, autocracy(even during the pretence of parliamentary reform) etc. etc.
    They are neither Slavs nor Orthodox. Nevertheless they feel more akin to Russians than say Czechs or even Poles.
    Hungary as a part of Russia seems unlikely but Hungary as a part of the West seems ridiculous.

    • @jm67544t
      @jm67544t 8 місяців тому

      The Russians would eradicate Hungary, given the chance. In the end, Russkiy Mir means exactly that: Russian World, with Russians on top and everyone else subjugated, dead or assimilated.
      Only a fool would believe they could ever be seen as equals or partners. It is better to forge your own path than to throw your lot in with Russia, if the West is otherwise incompatible.

    From my understanding of the fall of the tzar Nicholas the 2, it was the industrialists who backed the revolution through their representatives in the Duma, these industrials where all members of a certian order, akined to certian orders in the Germany, as soon as lenin landed in st Petersburg with his network, yes facilitated by Germany took over power and the Duma was dissolved. Lenin then turned on the oligarchs leading to rise of Lenin, who was always playing a game of cat and mouse to attain power. The underlying trend as far as i can see was the wests interference in Russia at the time lead to russias downfall, the plan was get rid of the tzar, and move Russia towards a liberal democracy but this failed as Lenin had no intention of giving up power. N.B Nicholas asked his cousin i believe could he go to England but king George said no, as Nicholas had shipped a lot of gold to England to sustain himself and family if things got ugly. As England was a protestant country this would facilitate the fall of the third rome.

    Russia has it absolutely legal state borders - these are the borders at the beginning of 1917, before the terrorists staged a palace coup againt Tsar and seized power. These terrorists were trained by the West and the internal 5th column, Russian citizens did not give them a mandate for power, did not choose them in any elections and referendums, and did not even know who they were. All decisions of the terrorist Bolshevik (and also so-called Provisional) government to reformat the borders of Russia, to grant independence to some territories (including Poland and Finland) are illegal in principle from the very beginning. If we want legitimacy, then we must unscrew the time to the last moment of the existence of the Russian Empire and take as the starting legal point the borders of Russia before its capture by terrorists in 1917.
