@@InTheBleakMidwinter666sigs not really a bad person he’s got a LOT of experience and with that comes ups but a hell of a lot of downs he’s lost friends over simple things, lost money over injuries that can be avoided if you teach them sternly enough and his crew are always some of the most dependable crews on the sea. It’s like Djokovic he may not have the greatest personality but that simply doesn’t matter because he’s proved time and time again he’s the man for the job and a hell of a reliable seaman. Not just that but he goes for the highest amount he can catch so his crew can also get the most money they can make. People forget that his crew are also some of the highest paid fishermen on the fleet usually taking upwards of 65k a season when the average is 40k that’s a big difference. If his crew can handle I I think it’s safe to say he’s not that bad otherwise they’d be a bunch of money hungry kids rather than full on Davy jones daily journeyers.

If you hire truck drivers to bring a load across country and they were trained to strap it down it's their job to ensure it's strapped properly and if the job comes loose it's on the driver. Not only that, you don't want a bad rep. That deckhand might only be there for a single season, but Jake has to deal with that fishery year after year. You don't want to be the boat on the outs with the fishery, or else you'll find yourself at the back of the line or the offloaders deciding its break time when its your turn, etc. They can make your life a living hell if they want to, and you get your money from them, not the other way around. The deck hand was completely out of line and frankly, if Jake knew he could get someone fast, probably would have been canned there and then.
That would be like working for delivery company, off loading to one of your best customers, and your assistant starts cursing him out because he didn't like that he had to wait 30 extra seconds. In any job or industry, they would get canned fast. Jake was entirely in the right.

Its not even just the smashed ones. When crabs die in the tank, they release chemicals that will kill the rest in short order since the water is contained. That's why the deckhand said that about the ones on the top. If you got dead at the top, then they're all dead.

As he should. His entire career is over if he passes off the offloaders

You don't want a bad rep.

Jake is the worst kind of leader: emotional and volatile. No composure at all.

All that crab harvested and wasted shouldnt there be fines for things such waste

It was an accident. The fine is the money lost that was invested going to get them which is tens of thousands of dollars.

I wouldn’t let Jake take care of my goldfish let alone a massive ship. Dudes got a seriously mental issue.

We as viewers should know by now that all these "under pressure and gonna lose the boat" is total bullshit. It provides drama because there is no drama.
