Man, I wish I watched this video before I bought that. As a beginner, I thought it’s going to protect me more and really liked the H shape bc it protects my nose. And I just used it in last sparring, every bad thing you said about that headgear happened lol That one was not cheap too 😭
I have this headgear 😂 oh well. I sparred 10 rounds in it a couple weeks ago and would much prefer my open faced title headgears to this, I bought it mainly for my friend who I train w cause his nose bleeds easily and this protects it
I thought companies were supposed to test their products before they sell it to the public. This just seems like kind of a design flaw to me. Thanks for doing the video. I really enjoy watching and learning from your videos. Great job man! 👍
Great review. I remember I was sparring my friend who is a southpaw when I used this headgear and I couldn’t see his lead right hook coming over my left shoulder. I wasn’t used to the lead hook coming in hot from the opposite side, and the limited peripheral visibility of this headgear made it so much worse lol.
This was the first headgear I ever bought. I was trying to get something like the winning fg2900 for a fraction of the price. When it arrived and i tried it on it fit exactly like yours, absolute trash. One of the worst purchases I’ve ever made, looked like I was wearing a microwave on my head😂. I’ll stick to TITLE gear in the future.😂
Great review, you just saved me some cash! The RDX T1 with the removable cage seems to be more interesting now. Any chance you’ll do a video on that aswell? Lol
@@csquaredboxing circonference of the head is one thing but length of the head is another thing you have a mongoloid type of head so bigger circonference and shorter length. You should have less issues with sizing with mexican thai and japanese brands. But Pakistanis are a caucasoid subpart different shape of faces.
what i dont like about THIS headgear is that 1) it has LACES at the back instead of VELCRO. 2) The TOP of the head is NOT padded at all. When i done Boxing sparring (20 years ago) i got punched on the top of the head whenever i put my head down (which is a very bad habit) and i felt the other guys knuckles digging into the top of my skull. Even though he was wearing sparring gloves on but i could still feel his knuckles through the gloves because he was not wearing any bandages on his hands. So the point is that i prefer the headgears that protect the TOP of the head as well.

What are your top 3 picks for a face saver. Cleto and Winning are too pricey. I was considering Ring To Cage Gel face saver, but there’s little info about it out there.
@@csquaredboxing I know the guys that designed it. When kids move on to a superior piece of kit they found an 80% improvement in individual skills in targeted areas. Remember these guys are ex pros not UA-cam experts.
How tight should it be on the head? When mine arrived it was pressing my cheeks almost wrinkling my face. So what's the best fit, not too loose to be moved around by punches and not too tight either?
@@csquaredboxing thanks hopefully it'll do a decent job and not do so much of the negatives you mentioned before I afford those expensive ones by Winning et al. On your other video sparring with it (the RDX t2) you didn't look like you were doing too bad...
Bought it a few months ago, big regret. It's enormous and makes slipping punches so much more hard. The worst part is the damn visibility though. Peripheral vision is basically non existent with this on.
I would rather have foam infront of my face at least I wont get kicked right in the nose or eyes. Its consider one of the best headgear on google. You will never find me not wearing headgear when doing taekwondo in every match at every level. The xtra padding prevents you getting knocked out which can be dangerous medically speaking. It also prevents your ear getting swollen and red.
You're wearing the headgear incorrectly... the facebar should only be a few centimeters away from your mouth... this allows proper vision while protecting your entire face When you get them new they're compressed and don't fit correctly till they're broken in you should shove a basketball inside the head compartment to shape it properly after its dry so it stays nice and round for your next sparring session
@@csquaredboxing try the basketball trick to "form" it to a round shape and it will fit WAY BETTER...they smash em flat for shipping and that jacks up their fit, I guarantee you'll like it a lot more after it's properly shaped because the bar nearly disappears it does a great job at absorbing the impacts That is literally the best headgear for the money online!
That headgear is clearly custom made for the Crimson Chin.

You should check out the infinitude facebar headgear. Just like 25 more bucks than this monstrosity ($75 I believe) and closer to UMA/Winning style.
For sure
i feel like youd go cross eyed w that thing after a while
