As a weekend angler, I learn from all your videos. The thing that keeps me coming back is the ones like this. Not just the wins but the grind. For me right now I’ve NEVER caught a bass but I’ve been in 3 tournaments. I want that challenge and I enjoy the lessons. Thanks for posting bro, keeps me coming back.

This hits home. This is why I fish: I will be back and I will get them next time. As Bill Dance says, it is a bad fishing day if you don't learn from the experience, both the good and the bad. B LAT is the best. Man, I love this stuff!!!

The one that you took Landon and his dad fishing for a couple hours when their boat broke down..that was a big hearted thing for you to do, and I've done the same thing, and it pays huge dividends in the end. Thanks for all you do and for sharing it with us! Best to you and your family, God bless!

The "down home" ones. I'm from SC so I enjoy seeing places in the state. I'd especially love to fish the Broad River for some smallies.

Been watching you for only the past year but dude, you got it. You are already there don't let anything get to you. PMA, positive mental attitude. I've learned so much from you alone on just watching your tip videos it has helped me go from just throwing baits and not catching fish to throw the right baits in the right tines and I never go without catching at least 1 or 2 in a trip to the water.

After going back and watching some of your previous success I fully understand your emotions. I’m the same way. I set the bar high because i know what im capable of and when i don’t meet my own expectations I tend to beat myself up a bit. That goes for all things in life and I can’t help but appreciate your transparency because THIS is inspiring. THIS is relatable. Watching you win 2 years ago brought tears to my eyes but the trials are where we learn to be best. I always struggle to explain to others just how much fishing can teach one about life. The highs and the lows. Discipline. Patience. Peace. Heart break. Pure joy. Without adversity what would it all be worth? Thanks for the inspiration and not just with the fishing. Much respect and look forward to the next one cause we all know you’ll be back!

Back before the Zebra Muscles and Gobies Large Mouth won there. 30 years ago 15 lbs of Small Mouth was good, 17 lbs of LM. Today 25 lbs of SM is good and 17 lbs of LM is still good. The LM are fun to fish for as long as you aren’t in a tournament.

You’re a great angler and person and things happen for you, not to you. I could cliche you to pieces, but you already know how and where to find the answers and I am grateful you share the good, bad, and ugly…..You’re a Champion, and. I mean, honestly, how many of us out here watching you would love to be a pro fisherman. That's a dream to us. And you are living it. Keep pushing. Keep learning. Keep failing. And keep finding a way to win. It's hard. But it's great!

    Hey Brian and Family.
I really enjoy your videos. That first catch was something pretty. I like how you for the most part, go in your own direction and you learn the river and how to fish as you're first experiencing it.
You can tell when someone really appreciate what they do, when they know and or feel it could have been better without beating them self down.
I think you did great. I've never been in a competition or tournament, however I hope to experience doing so.
I'm already ready for this competition in three weeks.

What Caught my 1st attention was the St. Lawrence River, grab some coffee, Massena High School and The one I Attended OFA (Ogdensburg Free Academy) in Ogdensburg, depending on what you are fishing for Massena is good fishing, but the Ogdensburg there are still some stergon , and very large muskie, and of course others, like theres deep water perch and then regular / more shallow perch .... but knowing the sandbars, and waterway is important, like the locks on the river that raise and lower the ships that pass through, The River in Ogdensburg that merges with the St. Law. is the Oswegotchie (sp) and it starts way up in the Adirondack Mountains near Star Lake, NY ..... anyway the river is clear, you can stand on a dock and see the sea weed swaying back and forth, During the Summer there are Regular River Patrols by the UNITED STATE COAST GUARD AUXILIARY, the river is international so when you look in the distance that could be Canada, I am Sorry you missed out by 26 pts to move on but I hope that you liked the area and the people, because there are several international bridges along the river we do have many Canadian Friends, and yes you are alos more close to Montreal, Canada then you think, I say that because Montreal is in the Qubec Providence and French is still spoken - thats where alot of the Eh ? comes from NOT ALL MIND YOU . anyway if you go back up let me know I will tell you where to eat or stay .... bdb fmr - USCG AUX Pio Flotilla 09E-01-5

@B. Lat Hey man that anger is fuel, it drives you to get better. It replays in your head again and again until you figure it out...and you will. What you did as far as your spots and lure selection go worked, you had the fish to continue in the tourney. Can I ask why do you keep that drag so lose? All I fish are rock lakes and I know if they hit bottom there's a high chance they're gone. So its either keep my drag a little tighter and maybe lose them from my line breaking or lose them in rock. I find I lose less with tighter drag then allowing them to hit bottom and run around. I don't lock my drag down, I just don't have 1.5 pounders makin my reel scream.

Been there. IT SUX! Going into the last tournament last year in 15th place in the points. Had a great practice but terrible tournament on Eufaula. Didn't make the Regional. Currently in 15th place in the points with one tournament to go. Gotta be honest and say I'm a little nervous. It's not how many times you get knocked down, it's how many times you get back up.

To me the drag seems way too loose to be letting only a 3 pounder take so much line out. I would tighten that up and force them in
Ike you would with a bait caster. I do it all the time with spinning reels. Those 3-4 pounders aren't breaking 6-10 pound line
