The very first time I heard this, I was sitting in my kitchen, completely drunk and high. I had been battling alcoholism for years. This song literally did "Save Me". I broke down there on my kitchen floor. When I felt like I had nothing left and no hope left, it saved me. I had never heard of Jelly Roll before. I'm so thankful to this man and this song. Clean and sober for 2.5 years and counting.
Jellys music has saved my life..when you strughle with depression it can be hard to see your not the only one..He does a great job reminding people they arent alone
@@amorakjjk It's nice to hear someone actually talk about the amount of talent and skill with some of the rock and metal songs others would describe as "just a bunch of noise"
I'm so proud of this man. He helped me when I felt my loneliest selling drugs and ruining my life. He made nl.e not feel alone because he was doing the same thing. I have since turned my life around and I have been sober since 2/15/16 and have recreated my life and I'm so happy that he is doing the same thing. He also never forgot his roots and still takes care of a lot of people
ShortyDP me too. She truly has a passion for music. In a way I'm kinda jealous that I dont really have something that grabs me like music does for her.
His lyrics are exactly how I feel half the time. Mental illnesses suck. This song hits very close to home. Thank you for reacting to it and exposing me to him.
This is the first song I had ever heard from Jelly Roll and I fell hard ❤️ The feeling when a song touches your soul and hits you in the gut is one of my top 5 best things in the world. And mental illness does suck....I struggle too and I see you🥰
Yes, I was really kinda surprised to not hear that descriptor with the plethora of adjectives she incorporated into this incredibly comprehensive analysis. I feel like he poured his soul into this song and ultimately left a piece of it there, forever. The emotion, impact, power, and especially, beauty are resounding. The religious connotations behind the title “Save Me” while being such a soulful performance seems very significant.
My first time hearing this and . . . wow, broke my heart. The combination of pain and strength in the way he sings "I'm a lost cause" just blows me away. Dude has serious talent. Elizabeth could probably talk me into liking just about anything, and she is engaging and insightful as always here, but this this song is an emotional powerhouse. I wish this gentleman nothing but success and I hope he finds some peace.
This woman is so witty, cute and just all around beautiful. Her smile and laugh are addictive she needs to be a tv anchor. I love how truthful she talks about this song and she definitely knows her stuff. Good job on this reaction.
This song gave me shivers and brought me to the edge of tears, that raw emotion and pain in such a clean format was truly moving. Thank you for introducing me to yet another amazing voice.
He came to Isleta Amphitheater last month, and when this song started, hearts were touched and tears flowed. He truly makes music for the broken, misfits, and losers 🤘🏼😌🤘🏼
I literally can’t listen to this song without tearing up. His background and his story and to see where he is at today is amazing. I really enjoyed this
I love this song. The first time I heard it a buddy of mine from the Army. Shared it about a week before he committed suicide. This song has so much more meaning to it than most even know. Everything I hear it I remember him. He was a good man and a great medic.
My uncle shared this with me a few weeks before he took his own life as well. We ended up playing this at his funeral. It definitely hurts to hear it now, but I give it a listen once a week at least. It makes me feel like I'm sitting next to him in his truck.

One thing is the last couple of years he lost one of his friends, his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and in 2019 his father losing his battle with cancer. So some of his addictions crept back up (his weight and drinking more).
I hate to hear this and it hits close to home. I'm 35 (I believe he's around there too), lost my dad to cancer last year, had a super close friend fall out of my life, and my mother is showing signs of dementia (on top of being a mess over my father). This song hits me so hard and I know exactly what he's feeling right now.
As someone who has struggled with addiction and works in rehabilitation, this song means a lot, not just to me, but to all the people that come to us for help.
Scarlett, if you haven't told that to Jelly on one of his social media's please do. He said in an interview its messages like that, that drive him to write these songs that hit home. I don't think anyone wants him to stop so the more drive he has from hearing this is great. I'm happy that Jelly and this song helped save you. You aren't alone and music can truly heal.
Your passion for music is just second to none. It’s truly spectacular how well you do these breakdowns. It’s a breath of fresh air every time I hear a breakdown from you. Thank you for doing what you do..from the bottom of my heart.
I love this song. Not only because I can relate to it so well, but because of how he performs it. The way he sings this song and the emotion he puts into it is so visceral that you can’t help but feel it yourself when you listen to it.
This song gives me chills. He makes you come into it. You feel it. Itsa side of Jelly Roll that we didn't even know we needed. This man is amazing; lyrically and vocally. Brava, Jelly! We love you, man!
I'm not a singer or even a fan of singing critique but this is the best breakdown and reaction to this song, this is exactly what it deserves. Jellyroll is so talented
I can't express this enough: Jelly is a bona-fide true artist, in every sense of the word. He's a genuinely happy, kind and expressively thankful person, and his journey has been a thrill to watch. He radiates good energy and he's incredibly intelligent. He's come a long way from where he was 10 years ago. That's admirable.
How did you not cry? I have listened to this song at least 100s of times and I still cry. Also Hurt by my man Johnny Cash. How did you not cry? Love what you do. Been binging your channel for a week now. Thank you
Knowing this song before finding this breakdown/review has only helped me to enjoy watching this more. Seeing the look of pleasure and almost giddiness that is so pure as the voice and lyrics pour out makes me appreciate it even more.
Elizabeth, I just love watching you geek out. I have learned so much from your videos and have been very thoroughly entertained. Thank you so much for your efforts and time.
I love that you point out post production and do not flavor the comment as a negative. I love raw music but i also really appreciate sound engineers.
I had a friend who passed away a little over a year ago. Jelly Roll was his favorite artist. He passed away in jail do to a seizure from alcohol withdrawals. Once in awhile I think I’ll see him in public only for it to be someone who looks nothing like him. This song hits me hard.
Thank you for doing this. Jelly Roll is a hometown hero here in Nashville and is one of the most humble celebrities I've ever met. He used to regularly shop at my store and would just hang out if he wasn't in a rush.
Jelly has blown me away as of late with both this style of songs and his lyrical content!! This album has been on repeat since it dropped. Thank you for your analysis
I've heard this song so many times that I know it word for word, but it relates so hard to how I felt when it came out and to how I feel now, still that I can't help but cry every time I listen to it. You guys, check up on your friends that check up on you. we aren't always alright.

I am surprised, to be honest, that you didn't expand on his line about his health. Listen closely, and there you will notice the 'th' sound is like hyper extended for some peculiarity, some vocal gymnastics, something. Anyways, probably won't read this, but it'd be interesting the ideas might come from others, I suppose.

this hit home with me. another amazing artist Struggle Jennings & Caitlynne Curtis // "God We Need You Now" (Official Music Video) . let me just say wow.
Jelly Roll has become my favourite artist over the past couple years. The man knows how to hit all your feels. I would love to see you analyse his song Better Off Alone
If you don't feel something in the heart area after listening to Jelly Roll, you might be dead inside... Great reaction/analysis as usual! Keep up the amazing work. Truly enjoy your content!
Hi Elizabeth, this is my first time listening to Jelly Roll and he has an incredible voice. I wish my close friend and former co-worker, who passed away in April 2008, was here today to hear this song. I believe she would have related to the lyrics and looked for more help and support. Thank you, Elizabeth, for this performance/video! ❤
Wow. I don't have words right now for the story that Jelly Roll is telling. Here's a few ...Wonderful, touching, emotional, tears and very passionate. Thank you !
I've said this before about this specific song. If it doesn't hit you right in the soul, be thankful. There's some things we can't explain through spoken word, but this song says what many of us couldn't.
Came here for Jelly. Been a fan of his since 2004. His music has literally saved my life and turned my life around when I had no one. I love that you love his music.
Not ever been through what this man been through, but this song just HITS me at the core... not many songs ever pull that off.. they put you in the singers shoes.. JUST like Hurt, as you said. I love that he doesn't play games .. He adds color to his voice.. but he isn't doing runs or anything.. He's just hitting it with the basics...
4:30 in the morning, hearing Jelly Roll for the first time, and I'm standing in the kitchen with tears forming everytime he comes on. Had to stop the video just to go listen to in full. Also, the line you said at the end hit home... "Trying to sooth the feeling of unworth" Beautifully said.
Ive been listening to jellyroll for probably 15 years and its crazy ive seen some people say that he has sold out because he doesnt rap much anymore but his music absolutely touches the soul and i have nothing but love for the growth that he has made for himself and for his kids and his wife. And this transition in genre is beautiful. Absolutely love jellyroll and wish the absolute best for him.
Loved your energy /excitement in this video! If you can, I'd be very interested in your take on another of his songs. Have you heard, "Love the Heartless"?
This struck me along the lines of other very personal music that really resonates. Alone, Annie's Song, Hurt...music of a very personal nature. Loved it!
More more more more more! Even most of his rap songs, he sings on the chorus. And while you may not be able to analyze an entire rap song by him based on singing, his ability to reach deep inside your chest and just rip your heart out is among the greatest ever, imo
Another great video. JellyRoll has always been solid but "Save Me" catapulted him into a whole new level. "smoking section" is another good non rap song of his.
I'm a rocker so hadn't really heard of this dude until recently; heard Dead Man Walking on rock radio and thought it was really good, so started digging. This dude's country and rap are both good, I *love* this song. Such crazy emotion.
Thank you so much for your analysis on this song. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one requesting this but I truly love how u cover all the points. I love this song and I’m glad you liked it too.
Gotta watch these twice. Once for the original artist, who I generally have never heard, and then to watch Elizabeths reaction. If for no other reason, Elizabeth is making me aware of other artists I would have overlooked.
I love somebody who’s interested in the voice of the singer instead of bashing people. There’s no negative feedback but only constructive criticism. It’s amazing and I’m hooked.
Just listened to this song recently... and clicked the link to watch the original video this morning.... I like his tone and delivery ... Looking forward to the review!
The fact that he, himself, said he’s not a singer! Man sings straight from his soul ❤ just discovered him last Memorial Day weekend … this song touches my heart/soul! I love songs that sing directly to you AND everyone feels that same way when listening

Another great video. JellyRoll has always been solid but "Save Me" catapulted him into a whole new level. "smoking section" is another good non rap song of his.
Love smoking section ❤❤❤
Mobile home is my favorite! Have you heard Pain No More from SNO album? That was my first song with Jelly and from there I was hooked.
I'm a rocker so hadn't really heard of this dude until recently; heard Dead Man Walking on rock radio and thought it was really good, so started digging. This dude's country and rap are both good, I *love* this song. Such crazy emotion.
The obviously genuine reaction to the song ending before you were ready to be done listening was so cool.
Thank you so much for your analysis on this song. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one requesting this but I truly love how u cover all the points. I love this song and I’m glad you liked it too.
Jelly Roll and Teddy Swims need to be in a sweet sweet singing battle of huge tattooed guys who you'd never think would sing like that.
Also Rag 'N Bone Man. UK based. Awesome vocalist
Elizabeth is absolutely stunning!
Found Jelly Roll on Stevie Knight. The Algorithm sent me down a reaction hole. Found this channel. Am not disappointed.
Mind Blown - by BOTH the man / Music & the Coach's Breakdown
THANK YOU!
God Speed, Brother
... genuine tears
Just listened to this song recently... and clicked the link to watch the original video this morning.... I like his tone and delivery ... Looking forward to the review!
It is so beautiful I’m so proud of him having grown up in Tennessee we used to ride out to jelly a lot
I love Jelly Roll, singing or rapping he is great.
The fact that he, himself, said he’s not a singer! Man sings straight from his soul ❤ just discovered him last Memorial Day weekend … this song touches my heart/soul! I love songs that sing directly to you AND everyone feels that same way when listening
Yay, thank you for doing this! Love Jelly!
this is an impeccable song.......such a raw emotion......."Son of a Sinner" is another stellar song by Jelly Roll
I love your physical reactions to his vocals. It's like I watched you fall in love with him and feel his pain.
Love Jelly Roll what a Story and a Helluva great guy and Singer.
This is the most reaction reaction I've ever reacted to 😅 love the in depth analysis.
I listen to music the way you listen to music. Been binging your breakdowns for days now and they keep getting better
Thank you for an awesome reaction couldn’t wait till you heard this song glad you enjoyed it
