Hey AmerSheikh. Just so you know, I told Garmin Canada that I was tired of needing a replacement Nav VI every year (or less!) and was thinking about buying their Zumo XT. They offered to replace my (4th failed) Nav VI with a Zumo XT. Adapter 3D Motorrad, in Italy, makes an adapter to fit the Zumo XT on the Nav VI mount so for me it was a perfect solution on my R1200RT. I had to purchase the adapter, around $100 Canadian including shipping. The Zumo XT has been flawless. Good luck friend!
I tried calling them few times but they wouldn’t replace it for me for a zumo xt. They put me on the list for a replacement that is supposed to be coming soon.
Looks like the unit has all the bells and whistles. I like the mounting system above the bikes console too. You have to experiment with a the programs to get the full use of the unit. I have the Garmin XT in addition to the goldwing unit, the XT is great for using on the fly, I've had it for a few years, it does everything I need. Enjoy your bike!!
Thanks! It does have all the bells and whistles but a lot of bugs. This is the 3rd one I have received in the last 3 months. The new Garmin XT is pretty good and I heard has no issues.
Hi there, quick question, I notice that you main screen (Where To & View Map) is black with white text, I'm sure I have seen some that have colour graphics with the text (mine is the same as yours) - is this normal? Many thanks.
The dated Nav prep and GPS Nav 6 debacle is a major obstacle for me and my decision to purchase my 3rd GSA. Really ridiculous how BMW can be so far behind the tech curve. I will ask that the entire unit be removed from the motorcycle i purchase as it would be a shame and constant reminder of an incomplete purchase.
Big time and on their signature bike. I see you got the cradle with your new bike. Let me know how it is I might look into it. My last attempt with Garmin to sort this out before I give up.
@@AmerSheikh I use the cradle as a phone holder and bypass the TFT using only my helmet. On a tour I might download the BMW app for a backup NAV but for now I’m golden.
@@gsxr88 Yes it does. I am waiting on a replacement for the last 1 year now. Garmin told me they are working on something new and will send me an email when they are sending me a replacement. I am assuming with the new R1300GS rolled out they will be sending out something new soon.

That is great news! Thanks for sharing it. Few friends have the Garmin Xumo XT and they loved it. I will contact them again and take it from there.
Yeah but can you use the whizz wheel with your Zumo XT?
@@scrumpymanjack The whizz wheel doesn't work with Zumo XT. I rarely used it with the NAV VI so I don't miss it. I'm glad to have a functioning GPS.

Garmin claims to have a permanent fix for their Nav VI sometime this year. Good luck, AmerSheikh. I liked the Nav VI when it worked.

@@GBeWinginIt That is great! Looking forward to seeing your review before I jump on it to get one.
The software version I have is 5.8.0, however the interface is different, what do I need to do to update and stay like yours?
You will have to change the unit itself. You can contact Garmin for replacement and they might change it for you to the Nav VI Refresh.
is the version out? does it still have the same problems?
This version has been out for a while now and still has the same problem.
@@AmerSheikh the screen still goes crazy?
