These korean RVs are designed so nicely. I can see business booming if they were to sell them in the US or europe. Also nice review, it is detailed yet simple. I love it.

I agree, both KIA and Hyundai should market these camper / RV in the US. I believe people who are in the market for a RVs in these size in the US would love these as good options.
Actually, this camper, for all its space, is poorly designed; toilet functionality gets low marks for facing the wall, hindering leg space. Also, as a “wet”bathroom, this was glossed over for something that important - no mention of how shower water is kept out of storage compartment for soap etc. What do you mean the stove top is optional?- ridiculous! Where’s the utility/closet space? Not impressed.

for those who haven't seen this type of cassette toilet, the top part (seat) swivels 90 degrees for seating comfort, and then swivels back to how it is shown so that it is out of the way when not in use.
Outstanding little RV I guess when people really put their mind to it they can actually build something that is within budget and user-friendly to ninety percent of the population
i think it helps that kia/hyundai are multibillion dollar companies, and have economies of scale so they can make something more affordable.
Maybe the toilet swivels as some do. Good presentation. Why can't they sell them here in the states, with better design and more reasonably priced
I wish they could offer this in the US. This would easily fit in my garage.
Yes, the Jeil motor, the builder, only sell here in Korea, but you can ask your local importer if they can import it for you. But this Kia Camper has 2.5L Diesel, so i don't think it will be easy. Thanks cmdrant.
There's an importer of older campers Toyota and Datsun. He's in Seattle. Sure they could import it.

@@NeoGee Well technically not true. You can import one, it just can't be driven. If you get caught, it's going straight to the crusher. Kind of insane law if you ask me...

I didn't read through all 90+ comments. Someone may have mentioned this already. The toilet swivels. You don't have to try to sit with your legs in the cabinet.

Great review. That toilet was not placed wrong. It swivels. It was placed that way to create more room to shower or use the sink.

Price will be different after it was taxed..US hate competition.
I believe the reason why the KIA is more bouncy is due to the fact that you have no gear added to the camper. They are anticipating the extra weight and once moved in fully, then the bounciness should decrease - smoothing out the ride. I too wish they had this in the US. I would buy it on the spot.

With the success of Kia automobiles in the US, I think it is just a matter of time before we see this adapted for the US market. Not everyone here wants or needs a Gigantor 5000 with 8 slideouts and cold boondocking to -258 degrees! A nice weekender would be a big hit in the States and leave it to Kia Motors to do it. Hong Ik In-gan!

With engine under the seat, I don't think it will pass the collision standard in US.

I have always had good luck with Kia. Good vehicle.
Like the fact that the small wheel base has been compensated for with the raised rear. To clear any low ground from the rear axle.
First of all, I am an RV novice. i have never travelled in one, but would consider renting one to check it out. Second, your video is excellent. Very concise and informative. Really makes me want to try one. Third, I would prefer a van in which access from the front cab to the back of the RV was more open. Lastly, I bet you have lived for awhile in the US. Your english is practically perfect. Your grammar and syntax usage is better than most Americans. At first I couldn't even detect an accent. I know several Korean speaking people and I wish I could speak Korean 1/100th as well as you speak English.

Much better than the Porest. I agree with you; the toilet needs to be turned 90 degrees. A propane cook stove and back up camera need to be standard. REALLY don’t like that the camper is accessible from the exterior storage area.

I believe the toilet swivels. That's the mode when you're taking a shower for more room. And if you're going to use the toilet, just swivel it 90° for longer legroom. I could be wrong but that's what I see in RV videos I've watched.

Also prefer the Kia Camper over the Hyundai model. Quite a few people will be complaining as to how the commode is placed sideways in bathroom. Very soon KIa will change it to face forward for better access. Much thought was put into this camper. In USA, this is considered a Class C coach/motor home. At some point, likely will look more intently into owning one. Well done review Charlie ... Slainte' ! Cheers !

That was a fantastic review! Kia could convert a few of these to the American market and make a fortune. Nothing like it is offered here. They would need to make sure that the air conditioning is robust enough for the American market and summer camping here, Add some induction burners for the kitchen is standard and make sure that that microwave is also a convection unit. The fact that it has six positions with seatbelts is really great for families. Although there’s an opening between the driving cab and the living space, it doesn’t look like you can walk between the areas. That’s the only thing that people might object to here. If offered in the US, they should make their Blindspot detection and lane departure system(and cameras) standard as well as the back up camera Otherwise, that’s a great review. Kia could start bringing these to the US and cement a position in the market like a GMC did with its motorhome back in the 70s. It’s exactly the type of rig that I would look for. It would be very interesting to get feedback from Kia corporate since you are there. I wonder if they are watching the feedback on your/this review 😏 (I also have one more question. Is the toilet a regular toilet or a cassette toilet and if it’s a regular toilet where are the places on the outside of the rig to add water to the rig as well as perform the dumping mechanisms?)

The price is the selling feature for this RV. Once they work on improving the bathroom issue that you pointed out. I don’t think I would want to travel with 6 people in that RV, but I believe it would be nice for a single person or a couple that liked to travel and are enjoying retirement.

Perfect for 2 people, maybe 1 or 2 small children. I like that outside TV. If there's a way to hook up HDMI to it, I'd love to bring my DDR pad or racing simulation seat and play outside in nature!
It's horribly priced for this equipment.
Compared with other companies that have years of experience, this is really good and the inside looks great. The Diesel engine needs to satisfy Euro 6 then they have a nice package to compete in Europe.

Cab is too small. Most here would not fit behind steering wheel. Also the toilet would never work.

There only has to be one importer to start here in the U.S or Canada. People would go to that place from all over North America once they know its available. Bring it to the US and you'll displace thousands of the now obsolete C-class RVs that belong to a different era. Make it 110volts and California smog ready, and you'll have a winner. KIAs are loved in California. I had two, super reliable and long lasting vehicles made by KIA.
Here some suggestion for your video.
1) Due to the video transition, i will need take some time to understand which place you're showing, putting a floor plan and highlighting which part will be appreciated.
2) When talking about driving experience, a empty car vs a full load (150L water + personal belongings + 6 persons weight) will make a huge difference. If you have some limitation, only carrying extra passengers will be good enough.

Awesome, but i wish they had kind of hydraulic support (jack up system)for the rear during stationary set up as i find it overhanging too far out at the back. Other than that this kia are an ideal vehicle.

Toilet placement is definitely a fail! Otherwise, pretty awesome motorhome! I do like how the rear bed has a tip out on the Hyundai, and its pull down bed too.
It’s pretty common in most campers especially European ones because putting them straight might take away a lot of space that’s why those American big campers are better if you need more stuff

Hyundai has a similar truck to Kia bongo and both axles are the same wheels.

Those rims comes from Kia pickup called Bongo. I guess builders just didn't care to change the rims.
Bonggo is for small business owners in here in South Korea, so kia decided to put 2 small tires instead of 1 on each side since small tires cost less and even when one gets flat other one can still run.

My opinion about this car is very positive.
The only thing I would change is the rim size.

I like the Kia camper a bit more than Hyundai due to size and price, however, I'd like to see both with the two burner cook top range or better yet fully equipped. I too would be interested in purchasing a Kia camper if it was here in the US.
