    To make an empire you keep information close to the king..... it makes you very important to the community ...... You sir don’t need to be king or emperor you are just “the man”. To distribute this information to the world proves to me that you are not worried who has the data and how they use it.. ~The world of CNC is big enough for all and you want everyone to benefit and not go and do their own experiments. They will end up in the same place as you, in time.. the waste of energy, time, materials and probable tooling is a waste, a waste that you have reduced.
    Giving the information has no fear for you.. it has an amazing effect on the rest in the industry. Well done sir... an open heart and a willingness to help others is worth the respect people should and do have for you and the schooling you do. Amacf.

    Nice video! The shop I interned at didn't even allow me to drill al6061 without using 3mm pecks XD. I'm learning so much from this channel!

    Titan you should go over conversational programming I’ve got somewhat of a background in that type of programming I used your videos to learn how to use cad/cam but my new job has me using conversational programming

    And to drill 5083 aluminum to a depth of 200mm for example with a Ø6.5mm drill bit, would the same program principle be used?
    We have been doing tests and many drill bits with internal cooling get damaged 🥲

      Actually I'm not sure a tool exists for that. Tapping that deep is probably too much for a tap of any kind and any material, and a Carbide thread mill that long is going to cost thousands of dollars
      But if there's a way I'd love to know

    My machine it doesn’t have it and I don’t have $7k to install it. Any suggestions would be great.

      3xD is standard for non-TSC with 5xD pushing it

      P is for milliseconds F is seconds

      @@frankr608 some control's don't recognize it. However I never ran a machine that didn't recognize P as milliseconds. Some use X for seconds. Have to check your machine manual to see what your machine will recognize.

    I have been given a deep hole task.... drilling 30x D in A516 Gr70. The major problem is, I was given a HSS drill, no through coolant option. The drill is .25 diameter. HELP!!!

      zyndapp800 dwell - aka G04 and the letter representing the value in Seconds varies from machine to machine. All depends on what the maker of a machine decided it would be.
      G04 P1.5
      G04 U1.5
      G04 F1.5

    I ended up just writing a bunch of custom python scripts to allow me to do all of these things. I personally think writing gcode by hand is too risky, at least with the python scripts you start with known working gcode.

      Much like anything else in life, when you spend alot of time hand writing g code, you get good at it. You get good at spotting errors while reviewing it. You also dovelop a healthy paranoia of reviewing every block as it executes untill your cycle has been proven.
      Its not efficient, but it is quite possible to pull off without crashing things and wrecking parts.

    A little Viet Namese immigrant that showed me how to use a Sun Cylinder hone always said "Ju lie dees" He also taught me a lot of dirty words in Viet Namese and French, cant remember those but I do remember how to dress shoes and what old whale oil smells like. How do you drill a 40x deep hole? Ju lie dees!

      But did you share it like he did?
      This may not be new to experienced machinists but to laymen it is vital learning material.
      Sharing is essential.
      What's trivial to you may save another person endless amounts of money and time.
      What this guy is doing truly can revolutionize entire industries and businesses.
      If it helps 1 person it isn't stupid or unnecessary.
      I'm trying to do something similar and his rates as reference are extremely helpful.

      yes they are high dollar. So far i have drilled over 200 holes 12 1/2 in. deep with one drill. THESE DRILLS ARE BAD ASS. Very brittle thou. We broke one just by turning on the coolent before it was in the pilot hole and another one broke when we hit top rpm before in the hole. We run ours at 3600 rpm.

      It is. Yeah, it starts with a $100 piece of carbide. 5-8 minutes to grind centers on it. An hour on the od grinder. 2 setups on on a tool grinder (maby only one on newer equipment) with about 40 minutes of cycle time total.
      So in any quantity, you have 2 hours of shop time plus material.

      Thw thru coolant holes come formed into the carbide. You can order it oretty much however you want. Size and number of holes. Straight or spiral.

    I can't explain why we do things the hardest way. I think it will be much better and much cheaper to do this with deep hole drilling machine.

    Titan; Since its a through hole,why not do half than flip and drill the other half?
    This would,greatly reducing drill walking.

      We always try to avoid that kind of operations . Its way dangerous

      @@stanlee1884S the concentricity has to be perfect or you risk getting 2 half holes that don't completely connect. So you have to think hard about what the hole is for

      Try it on a practice block.Drill a little more than half deep .Flip and do same.

    Just wondering If anyone actually realizes how shitty Haas machines are...If you want accuracy, go with Okuma or MoriSeki....
