- Brand new 93001 - The new kid on the block in a quick aerial flyover of the old Brush works at Loughborough. (Oh and quick look at the old class 60's)
All footage is taken obeying all flight restrictions for the area, the category of the drone & in full compliance of the current CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) regulations for drone usage (Aug-23)

I bet that was an amazing busy place in the 70s. Looks a massive site. Now a couple of dozen cars in the car park. Sad 😢
It certainly was. It was busy in the 90s too when they built all the 60s, 92s and Channel tunnel power cars. I used to go every few weeks to see all the new 60s emerging in their railfreight sector liveries
Me too good times
What I find most depressing is how this place was unable to provide locos that could do what the Class 66’s do? They produced the Class 89 and 92’s - both amazing locos in their own right…
Wicked videos, certainly given me some ideas on what i need to add to my layout, thanks for sharing.
Cool. Thanks for watching 👀
A video with a BIG difference.I enjoyed it very much.Hope there is more to come.
Thanks. Load more to come. Thanks for watching 👀
Finally! I've been waiting for this for absolutely AGES! Can't wait to see this in service with Grand Union next year!
Glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing them in service too. Quite a nice loco in green I think.
Grand Union?
@@markkneafsey-nl8tv an open access operator planning on starting services between Carmarthen and London in 2025 under the December 2024 timetable change
@@markkneafsey-nl8tv Yeah. Grand Union is a new open-access operator who will be expected to take over from CrossCountry between October 2023 and December 2024. The Class 93's will be hauling the remainder of the LNER InterCity 225 sets, doing services from London Euston to Stirling and back. They were going to be used on services from London Waterloo to Carmarthen and back, but they're gonna use 802's on that route instead. Grand Union were going to use the remainder of the Class 91's, but it's looking very unlikely now.
Oh Lord, I remember the Brush works back when I was a spotter back in the 70s. My uncle worked there and I was privileged to have the chance to have a day out there with my uncle.... What a hive of activity it was back then, probably on the same par as either Crewe, Derby or Doncaster as it was busier than the M25 on a Friday afternoon... What a great shame that the site now resembles a ghost town.. Really, really sad to see it now (no offense to you I hasten to add)... I always enjoy watching your videos, brilliant stuff, especially Toton... Please would you be so kind enough as to do another video of Toton? Many thanks for your kindness and understanding...
I never went in the 70s , but I remember it was still a great place in the 90s when they built the 60s 92s and Channel tunnel power cars. Thanks for watching 👀, I'll be doing an up-to-date Toton video in the next few months hopefully
And the class 60s
hopefully those 60's will net another life
I thought they were there for parts , but heard a rumour they have plans..hope so. Thanks for watching 👀
Incredibly sad to see all those 60s looking so dejected. Poor 60s, fine locos each one..
Amazing locos and built at Brush 30 years ago. I guess the engines are all old tech now, but they could probably re-engine them. Thanks for watching 👀
I note with interest that they still have a Ruston Hornsby shunter in service.
Yes. I think it's been there for years and still going strong
The look of the 93 has grown on me a bit
Agree. I quite like it in that livery too. Thanks for watching
Wonder if the plan to reactivate those 60s is still going ahead? Nice to see the site still open even if there isn’t much activity now
Let's hope so. Need to see them back out and running !. Thanks for watching
Looks awesome love your fly over videos 👌
Cheers mate. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 👀
Very cool 😎
Thanks. And thanks for watching 👀
Could you do a flyover of Ely Papworth sometime? I’ve always wanted to see how many HSTs there is
I'll make a note of it for next time I'm heading that way. Thanks for watching 👀
Hey, is the 93 due to be doing any testing on the WCML anytime soon ? I'd love to catch this for my electric traction UA-cam channel..
Nothing confirmed as far as I know as yet . Thanks for watching 👀
I do love drone footage as it gives a different perspective on depots
It certainly does. Thanks for watching 👀
The Brush was once a hive of manufacturing and now it looks like a ghost town, the tories seen to that.
You're not wrong , it's such a shame
Not just the tories. Its been on the slide for decades and pre-Wabtech Brush got complacent.
Yep the tories seen to it all and the tories caused all the damage, period!!
@@markkneafsey-nl8tv Oversimplistic. As is usually the case with those who's knee jerk reaction is to blame the tories for everything. Other people apart from tories fuck up as well you know, especially complacent management.
@@markkneafsey-nl8tv lol pathetic
hi ,great video but do we need another new loco when there are loads of 66s 86,s about, some one is clowning about.
Lol. Thanks. Sorry I can't answer that question. I guess it's progress. There nothing more I'd like to see than the 60s back on revenue earning traffic but I guess a new electic/diesel/battery loco is the way forward for our stupid net zero target's and cost
I’m not the fond of the livery but the 93 looks good.. can’t wait to see them on the mainline
I'm not normally a fan of green livery but I think that looks pretty good
Do you guys know what it will be doing? It looks like a passenger or mixtraffic locomotive.
@@Slime.tsunami it’ll be used similar to the 68s my guess as they are owned by the same company - DRS.. it’ll be freight with the occasional railtour here and there.
We don’t have any loco-hauled passenger trains on our national network if you don’t count railtours and the DVT trains
@@terrier_productionssleeper services are all loco hauled? Thus is passenger service.
Any idea where the 92 that has been stuck in there for a while is?
No, sorry. I didn't see it.
That class 196 that seems have been their for months was being dragged onto the mainline by a class 37 today
Do you know what the number was? I didn't see a number on it
730003
It’s not a 196…
Can we build anything in this country anymore?
We build national debt and plenty of houses 😂, that's about it
why is the loco at brush? is there some connection with stadler?
I'm guessing that it needs a modification before it can run on UK rail under its own power. Thanks for watching 👀
What's happening to all the 60's?
Cannibalised for parts I presume 🙄
You'll have to wait n see.
I heard the 60's might be getting gm engins...
@@marvinmarvin2424 Don't believe all you here. All will come to light soon, putting all rumours to bed. JG.
👍👍❤❤😎😎
Cheers. Thanks for watching 👀
Is it an upgraded 92?. What happened to all the 92’s?.
The 93 is a Brand New Build Loco, the Class 92 is still in service in the UK with a few of them stored, there is also a few of the earlier 92 models with DB in Romania/Croatia Area which were part of the original 46 that were produced.
No, it's a tri-mode loco. 25kv overhead electric, diesel and battery. The 92s were 3rd rail 750v DC and 25kv AC , no diesel so the 92s could only work on electric lines. Think another of them are stored
I've been making 92 side window frames last week.
Which DC Rail 60 was being shunted by the Ruston ?
Where would the class 89 be plz
As far as I know, she’s currently at Barrow Hill
I heard it was at BH too
@@miniature-airlines no I think it’s still at Loughborough
It was there on Thursday 17th Aug 23 next to the 93
If its not outside , it isn't hard to work out where it is
Bloody rail companies should be ashamed of themselves, all those lovely 60,s rotting there and Toton, and they buy in Canadian c..p😢
The 93s are Spanish. Unless you mean all the 66's 😂
@@miniature-airlines Indeed l was referring to the 66,s.
are companies no longer allowed to buy newer locos..? DB most likely don't have the use or need for the 60s anymore, so not sure why they should be ashamed of themselves?
@@MelodicCore1332 they did have a need for them all of them 60's nearly new less than 10 years old just sidelined for 66 standardisation but you know the British tax payer paid for them so who cares that's what happened
lol
Exactly
Whats with the trailers placed around the 60s ?? Are they really that bothered that people might take a photo of them? Bit pathetic imo , good video
I wondered the same thing re the trailers. Seems odd.
@@CabSav2010 its done for one reason, v strange . They must think rail enthusiasts are terrorists ?? i can give them a better thing to look for if they are trying to deter terrorists and its not a camera and a love of railways
Didn't realise that's what the trailers were for... luckily they don't deter the drone !!
@@miniature-airlines what else would they be for? They were not there a few weeks ago.
