Oh what I would do to have The Strokes Live from The Basement
I would literally die
I would also kidnap them
Fucking agree!
Sell your kidney maybe...
this is not the strokes...
Definitely an underrated solo artist ahj has a very unique style of music
His solo project is basically the essence of Strokes' first two album type of songwriting and i love it so much.
sir edzonko me too! I think Francis trouble beats out New Abnormal. And I really like new abnormal!
@@mrchrisgutierrez Albert's songwriting tends to stay true to 50s and 60s pop formula mixed with garage rock, like early Strokes' music, it's on the simpler and safer side compared to present Julian's interesting and experimental songs but sometimes it's all you need.
Thats why i tell people i dont care if the strokes break up because I like ahj style more than the strokes.when I want to listen to experimental ill listen to the voidz when i want strokes style ill listen to ahj. In my opinion lyrics vs lyrics julian is better but I feel ahj has better beats and rythem then julian does. I'll take better guitar rythem and solos over good lyrics.on francés trouble was so underrated and I can listen to every song. On the new abnormal theres a handful of songs that I just don't care for.
@@mrchrisgutierrez the new abnormal was alright imo there a couple songs i just dont care for
That guitar riff in Holiday just screams School's out for summer 🙌🏼
@SamuelEMPowell131 you must be lonely gimmick
Thanks Nigel, for these memories!
omg i remember when i heard ' Hard To Love In The City ' on episode pilot Gossip Girl, gold old days :')
the way both songs mingle and complete themselves is superb
i used to watch this on like 240p. thanks for uploading it in high quality. i love AHJR as a guitarist and singer.
I remember when this was on Sky Arts, I used to be obsessed with this show. I saw Albert Hammond Jr headline one of the small tents at Reading in 2007 and it was so good.
Yessss! Thank you for uploading this video and allowing us to enjoy 😭

Thank you so much! Love this performance
@Samuel Powell Will do. Thank you for the recommendation!
oh my god, curly albert
Ele é incrível e talentoso. Amo The Strokes, mas ele tem que continuar lançando trabalhos solo. Nunca imaginei que ele fosse tão incrível, compondo e cantando.
I love the "happy/sad" vibes both songs seem to emanate. Any other bands that has this sound? Not counting The Strokes, of course.
The symposium
The Shins have songs with a melancholy vibe

Wow this is great!
The fact that he named his daughter after this song... so cool!

Omg is really amazing ✌🧒👏👏👏👏
The closing solos are nothing short of epic.
@Samuel Powell will do! Thanks buddy :D
last minute of this slaps. definition of dudes rock
Magnificent
exactly the word i was thinking
Albert Jr. definitely inherited his father's amazing musical and song writing talent.
So he got himself another The Strokes. Heck, even the guy in vest is his double.
They're The Strokes' stunt doubles.
They are The Strokes... since The Strokes is not The Strokes anymore.
@@DrChalella Do you think that means it'll be easier to get them to play my birthday party?
The bassist at least has Nikolai's hair haha
This drummer actually was the strokes’ backup drummer when fab broke his arm one time
finally some good audio from that show
The full session please!
Me encanta ❤
Muito bom Albert 👏👏👏👏
This is AMAZING! First time I listen to him solo. Props!
Be sure to check out his other solo projects. He's really great. And, of course, a special cry out to Francis Trouble. (I heard he's working on a Volume 2 for that album as well). More power to him! And 'Far Away Truths' has to be one of my favorite songs ever.
Btw, Albert said recently that he finally thinks he's "good." He's too humble. He's great!🤘
@@lucakat9262 Wow awesome, thanks for sharing this data, I will definetly look for this stuff!
@@joaquinot great! Another AHJ solo fan! Btw, he tried to get the Strokes to look at his lyrics and ideas. Albert said that Julian seemed okay with it but the other members were not. Even though Albert had written some Strokes songs with Julian. So Idk why they wouldn't let Albert use one song of his own. Maybe it's because Julian always wrote most of the songs back then. So that's one reason he went solo. Plus, the Strokes were beginning to have problems. And, Julian mentioned that even though, at the time, he still was committed to the Strokes, that some other band members were interested in trying something else too. Julian mentioned Fab and Nikolai. So they went onto make music with other bands that they formed. Julian was the only other Stroke to have a solo album. But Jules only did one before forming the Voidz. So that's what the guys did when they were not together.
Also, they did not get along very well, for the most part from 2010 till 2019, when they regrouped. Even though they still toured sometimes, I think Julian had something to do with them truly getting back together because he was asked about the band and how things were going and if they still got along. Julian said that their 'brotherhood' would always be there since they'd known each other since their teens and so forth. Shortly afterwards, I noticed they got back together and it was strongly rumored that they were recording again. So much for rumors now. Lol. You might want to read "Meet Me in the Bathroom'. That book tells some interesting stuff about them. Although, it leaves stuff out, like the band getting to meet Lou Reed. Reed had influenced the band greatly. Anyway, sorry to go on so long. As you can see, I'm a diehard Strokes fan. To me, they are all fascinating in their own right. There's so much more I could add to what I've said but you can (if you want) look them up on Google and there are some great interviews with them here on UA-cam.
Oh, one more thing, Albert is good friends with actor Joaquin Phoenix.😉
@@lucakat9262 what do you think about Etchings? (Volume 2 of Francis Trouble)
@@A_15_year_old_guitarist actually I haven't heard of it. Is that his next albums name?
I got a chance to have a short and fast conversation with him last year and he said he was releasing a double album this summer. He didn't mention the title so I figured he wanted to wait and announce when the time was right.👍🙂
I fk'n LOVE this performance!
Is this HD remastered? I thought I saw this back years ago in lower quality
You took so long to upload this!!!!!!!! Thanks anyway
No lo puedo Creer qué recuerdos este From the Bassement lo vi en un Canal que se llamaba I-SAT hace años en Navidad ver de nuevo ahora en hd es increíble Albertito siempre ha sido genio!!!

The lead player has a really cool guitar tone
We should have known more about them , they should have been more famous than this

Iron maiden, QOTSA
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Diarrhea Planet
Metele trompeta Alberto!
He could have been the fifth beatle
Albert sounds like he's rather polishing the sound of two first album or playing with a mixture of pop on it. I don't know what to say, at first I like, now is very hard on the songs as it's an indistinguible formula, which won't get you into the supposedly creative songs from time to time.
If you squint hard enough, the bassist looks like Nikolai
looks exactly like Carl Broemel of MMJ
Hey what’s this ? A show? A podcast ?
The Strokes solo que Albert en el micro... 🙄
Y lo hace mejor que el otro
No es de the strokers
Holiday sounds a little bit like oblivious
@Samuel Powell thanks for the advice, my man. I'll listen.
@Samuel Powell Nice tune mate, thanks! Just listened ;)
Sounds to me like The Strokes might've been an influence
Good thing he’s actually in the strokes then
Anyone else hear the Mountain Goats influence on his vocals?
As a massive fan of both, no.
When albert sing i see young alex turner
is this the arctic monkeys at half speed?
Great music indeed, looks that part of the strokes is flowing here, however all musicians looks like cliche..
Behold
Musicians 5:15
He sings better than Casablancas
On crack
He has lost the voice.
