Just did these the other day. The wrestlers laughed at first until I explained the switch step. I called it a variation of Mary Katherine lunges. They were perplexed.
These are good as hell. Why would they do that?
@@SantanaBanana47 kids these days think it is all about learning the “fancy” moves instead of learning the basics and drilling them until it becomes instinct. From the basics comes the moves. Distilled down wrestling is not that complicated. I tell them all the time to take care of the little things (basics) and the big things will take care of themselves.
@@Double_deuce22 my coach was all about this philosophy. He taught us a solid system of a few moves. From this we always had a solid game plan. He would preach drilling moves 1000s of times. Until it became second nature. When the system of moves becomes second nature, it's like something clicks in your brain. When so much of wrestling becomes second nature, your mind starts thinking at a higher level. You make connections you never made before. He thinks this is how you really jump levels. It's hard to describe, but you get a sort of intuitive feel. You start reacting without thinking and predicting what will happen.
@@SantanaBanana47 I tell my wrestlers they should be already in the process of executing the move as I am yelling it. To which I used to respond to my coaches, then why are you yelling it. Fair enough.

Great plyometrics training for wrestlers. Being a coach myself I was creating my on plyometrics workout using various wrestling moves and this is one of them I will be adding. Thank for video.

I can't even do that sitting in a chair
Yes, chairs on the mat don't help!
It just looks a little goofy
For the benefit of strength and speed it's worth it!
