I saw this in a movie years ago. A highschool baseball coach couldn't grow grass on the outfield. Tried everything. Deer ate anything he planted. His friend told him to use human hair. Use it as a barrier/ moat around the field. The deer wouldn't cross the barrier. He went to the barber and asked for hair. It worked in the movie. I hope this helps.
I grew up on a homestead like yours and every time I watch your videos it reminds me of the best times of my life. I'm now 67 and my 95-year-old dad passed away this past year and life will never be the same. Enjoy your life because this will also be the best years of your life as well.
Sorry for your loss
"I know Mike... that's a different story for a different video." LOL!!! "Tryactin".. classic Melissa.
Thank you
You got me. That Triacting joke had me in tears. That was the best one yet Melissa 😂
The ultimate emasculation action. Men will not respond well to this.
Yea that was to funny. Even got a chuckle out of Mike.
She is so funny 😂
Melissa, that was a corker!
That was a goos one.
The. Ceramic coating is unbelievable in its ability to just rinse clean. When your washing the ceramic coating use a wide fan nozzle with your pressure washer and make sure you take even consistent passes ensuring to cover every inch and I swear it looks as good as a hand wash. Make sure they cover your windows also. Most do. But it’s a game changer. The ceramic coating is 100 times harder than the clear coat it protects. It’s pricey but a couple years in you’ll understand why it’s worth the cost. I’ll never own another vehicle without ceramic coating it. You get best results to take the new vehicle straight to be protected. Even the most careful hand washer will still create fine scratches. No matter how careful you try to be.
Manufacturers should add at the factory if it protects the clear coat which is notoriously soft.
Gotta love the triactin jab 😂😂😂. Have a great day OWTM family.
Spit my morning coffee all over the living room rug. Thanks, Melissa!🤣
Try acton! Good one Mel.
Handling that kind of humor from your one and only is a great sign of a healthy relationship.
Love you guys, God’s Blessings!
I’m gonna have to remember that one.
Good morning Mike and Melissa ❤ your humor is second to none. I can see mike sneak down the road and finish it off for them.. lol
The stilt grass seeds are all over your property. The second you open up the ground to sunlight, they explode. First year plots are always tough, especially when you till them to smooth them out. The worst thing you can do now, though, is disturb the dirt again. I wish I was a little closer I would knock this out with my drill in about 45 minutes. I'm up to about 20 acres of food plots now. This year has been a banner year so far. Those rains were well timed for me. If you spray that field and kill all that off, you can broadcast right into it before a rain. The thatch will keep the animals off the seeds. The rain will push the rye right down to the dirt. The thatch will also keep the sun off the stilt grass seed for a week or two as well and let your rye grow. Then you can frost seed clover in February and be I business.
I think every Subaru in existence has that heat shield rattle.
Good morning Mr. & Mrs. Morgan,
Melissa, I personally hate when those working on your vehicles "forget" or just don't call you when they have finished it. A number of times when I need some work done on any of my trucks, I'll purposefully drive by and see it sitting out front and done. When I go in to ask if its finished I get the old we've just been so busy BS line, it actually pisses me off, but then I pay the bill and move on. To me that's like having a nice dinner out and then needing to ask for your check. Tip just went way down😢😢.
Mike, "Actinlikeaman" medicine was truly an ego deflation. Melissa hammered you😅😅😅. Also since this is "jump on Mike day", any man 57 or 58 (pick one) that whines about his "Greatest defeat" as being a hunk of ground that didnt grow grass in a drought sure isn't getting much, no any, sympathy from me. I'm saying if that's the actual case that man has led a pretty blessed life, which you have. Maybe time for another dose of medicine 😊😊. Yes, that Vernig is an absolute weed cuttin' beast. Have a blessed day.😊😊
First things first Mike. Get a soil test first and find out what you need. Take care of that than use some Glyphosate and a surfactant to it burn it down and have a clean plot. Than prep the soil and plant before a good rain and you will have a totally different result.
The garage must have been backed up to have to leave your truck overnight for an inspection. The longest I've ever had to wait was a mistake. The floor guy drove it out to the shop and parked it in the area for repair work. After an hour I texted the service manager, he walked out there and it was just minutes later I was on my way home. That was at the Cheverolet dealership. Most inspection stations take 15 minutes. Especially jiffy lube. They have you park it. They hook it up to the computer, crank it up, read the emission while another checks the lights, and done. There could be a number of things in need of repair, but if you want a thorough inspection, take it to a dealership. I haul my grandkids, so my Trailblazer stays in tip-top shape. After your video today, I am waiting to use that tracking on my boys, that's a good one! Hope the ceramic is all you expected. Thanks for sharing.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇲🇺🇲
Mike, not the same as Melissa’s coating but try washing your truck as you normally would and the use Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax when rinsing. I spray a little on the car when still wet and then dry the car. Your car will stay clean and water will need for a very long time. Awesome pruduct and quick and easy to use. Turtle wax makes a similar product slightly more time to apply. .
if your just throwing wood into the trailer, position your skid loader bucket under the splitter table and then dump it into the trailer.
We haven’t had State vehicle inspections in Florida since the 70’s.
Yeah, they don’t really care about safety. They just want money. I’m in NY 😏
Yeah, thankfully it's gone in our state now also. Just another govt money-grab. As if they don't steal enough already....
I love watching you Melissa .You look like you’re 21 again. So much energy you guys are so much fun to watch.Thank you for sharing your story with us Ed from Michigan
Hi Mike, I plant rye grass commercially for my landscape maintenance business. I always top dress it with steer manure or chicken manure. That helps it come up fast and prevents a lot of birds eating the seed 24/7. I realize u have a large area, but it's just a thought. Good Sunday morning I should have started off with that. Lol
Good morning Morgan family, stretching is great. Try fasting as well, people back in the day didn't eat as much as we do and health use to be better back then it seems. Great content thanks.
Yes I agree !
I do believe in fasting as well - helps with physical and spiritual benefits
Melissa has the kind heart of an angle. I vote for her to be mother of the year!
angel?
Hey Mike, plant in the Fall and not in the Spring. The roots have a better chance of survival when the dry weather comes during the next summer
Mike, go to Penn State website and lookup control of Japanese Stiltgrass. They give a several control methods including using a weed eater rather than mowing, both pre and post herbicides to aid in control along with dates for applications
Hi Mike. Great job. Despite Japenese silk grass field. 😡😠😤🥴🙄😬🤨🤔😐😑 Hi. Great ad Melissa. Factor is a big factor in your house. 😂😂😂😆😆😆😁😁😁 Seriously. My late mom would enjoy them. When she was alive. Look" way better" than our local cooked food place. Thanks Melissa. 🥰😋🙂😉👍❤️💜⚘️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻☀️ Beautiful load of firewood. During my 37yrs of firewood logger. 95% was dead fall & dead trees. The 5% were storm damaged " green" trees. I cut 40 inches & stacked the logs. To naturally air dry it. Our forest & woodland provides us. With dead & dry trees. I use all the trees. Except tree limbs one inch & under. There way too many little branches. We use the 1 inch & bigger for our " fire starters." Those were interesting logging days. About lagging contractors: I've seen a lot in Vermont. Melissa: Tryacting!? 👏👏👏👏🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😆😆😆😁😁😁 That should the word of month Mike! 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😆😆😆😁😁😁 Thanks Mike & Melissa. Say Hi to Melissa's dad, Eva, Hunter, Levi, Tyler, & Hannah. 🤣😂😆😁🥰🙂😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻☀️
That Japanese grass needs to be sprayed to get down into the roots an then planted into your rye an clover .
It really doesn't matter....the seed bed lasts 5 years and thats the biggest issue in combating it. Spraying will kill the stalks that have emerged, but not the seed bed.
@@shanereynolds5971 That’s true but glyphosate will dramatically kick it back.
Great Mike. Really liked the on machine viewpoints for the video. Great to see that. And Melissa's smile ALWAYS makes a great day!! AND, as I have said before, your mastery of your machines is amazing. Neat to watch you handle any of the equipment you have there. And I believe YOU could have finished that highway project for them. LOL Thanks for a great video, I enjoyed it immensely.
Nice thing about ceramic coating is that after a wash you dry it with a leaf blower. I have a black car and this eliminates streaking. I also recommend staying away from automatic car washes.
Agree specially with a black vehicle!
"Try actin' like a man" ~Savage, Melissa! Savage!
Thank you
Thank you, Melissa, you had me laughing out loud with try acting.... just beautiful! God Bless
I would plant that in a clover/alfalfa/chicory mix. You would be able to spray Clethodim over the top of that to kill the grass but wouldn't hurt any of the planted stuff.
Good morning to Hunter 👋👋😸and family and friends , Happy Sunday everyone 🙏🙏😸😺
Morning BadCat awesome weather... enjoy the rest of your weekend....
Hi BadCat, Have a great day!

I'm so happy. I've got a new word for work tomorrow. Thanks Melissa. We have a big road construction I drive through daily. I think Mike needs to come help here to. Enough equipment, but all of it isn't running.
Factor meals are really good stuff. It's excellent for my 82 year old mom to make as it is super fast and easy to make.
Oh I agree that is perfect for your mom … I have a friend that gets it for her mom!
Reading up on that invasive, I'm curious: Have you used or might you use herbicides as part of your control efforts? Sounds like it'll be a real pain to get rid of since the seeds are viable for up to 5 years. Glad we don't have that stuff out west.
I drive I-70 through Indiana every week before jumping up to I-80. Be thankful for good roads as I-70 literally is a jeep testing ground. It beats the daylights out of my semi.
I second that statement lol it has been terrible for YEARS
Love Melissa and her sayings! I laughed out loud when she said Triacton! And described the word! Love it! ❤
Good morning Morgan's !In the south ,we have Kudzu ! That mess grows mostly in the rural areas where the area is sparsely populated . Road construction!!!, come down to coast. We have road construction ,bridge construction ,house construction, Condo construction!! limestone rocks, orange cones , every piece of heavy equipment know to man !
I shot milk out of my nose on that try actin comment thank. Haven't laughed that hard in a while. 😅😂
Ha ha
Thanks
About the road construction. This summer they had both of our east / west roads that we live between closed completely. They put in another round about. One is still closed until mid October. Who comes up with these great ideas to close the roads at the same time. Keep going. Great videos.
Good morning, Mike! Regarding the stilt grass... what I have learned is that the foot traffic from deer actually stimulates the spread and growth of the stilt grass. When they kick the ground up, they're exposing the seeds to moisture and sunlight.
My heaviest concentrations of it are along deer footpaths. But I have virtually none where the deer don't travel.
Use a section of Chain-link behind your mower fence as a drag to help cover that seed that you put down. It works well and is easy and cheap.
Yep, and tie wire some landscape timbers on the tail end of the drag.
I love the "Tryactin". I can't wait to use that at work, maybe even fit it into a video. Heck, I could do a whole series of Shorts called "Tryactin ...". Thanks for making me laugh. Good stuff, as always.
Good Sunday morning Morgans and friends. Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Morning!
Good morning friend , to you as well 🙏🙏😸
Thanks friends 🙏
Hi Michael, You are the first comment today. 👍

Ive got a friend in Strasburg PA. Told me same thing about Japanese stilt grass , said even fire doesn't effect it
Clethodim kills it.
Mike, Soil test the area, get a better quality seed and I think you plot will be much better.
Factor. That's funny. I started my homestead so I could grow my own food & know exactly what is on/in it, be sure it wasn't watered with fluoride, etc.
The shelves are empty Melissa because of the convention. 😂😂 tryacton.
Ha ha
Thank you
Have you ever tried Roundup on the Japanese grass .
If you replant , wait until the middle of September to do it !
Every road everywhere is under construction this year. They're spending like we don't have 33 trillion dollars of debt.
Morning Mike & Melissa. What an enjoyable video. You guys really had us laughing 😂. That one about (tri-actin). What’s that Melissa? Tri actin like a man!😅. Mike that cutter on the front of your Vermeer works great! Cool video. 👍❤️
Hey Melissa, you mentioned speaking at churches and I would love to hear your talks, do any recorded their services. God bless you and your wonderful family.
Thank you so kindly
Good Sunday morning, Morgan's!! Drink lots of water today. Try to get relief from high heat indexes.
They sell cutters that that fit your Kubota 95 skid steer. If I remember correctly you purchased one that did not have the high flow option. But you can get them for flow around 26gpm . This would give you a much wider cut and drastically reduce your operating time. Get the widest one available
And you would be in a cab for your safety
@@johnkemp4370 very true and also be in a air conditioned cab and sitting down. That machine is designed for small jobs in tight spaces. Standing up and being so exposed is not a good thing
@@hhazelhoff1363 i think the reason he likes it so much is he does not climb over the bucket into a conventional skid steer. Someone needs to hand him a JCB with a side door and extendaboom
@@johnkemp4370 I like your thinking, they would probably sponsor him also.
Oh Melissa that was great. Mike fell right into that lol
Talk about memories, I was with the survey crew for the highway connecting Leominster and Worcester. And I believe you were there also. I Hope You Have a Better Day, Boscawen NH
This may sound crazy but try planting crabgrass. A very aggressive grass that grows very strong. It may work in that field.
Wow I didn't know someone would plant grab grass intentionally. That stuff is crazy. I'm fighting that stuff all the time in me commercial lawns I take care of. Preemergents down twice a year and I spray it some times. In that application it might be good thing to do.
@@phillipbecker4393 I suggested that to choke out that wild grass that he is fighting all the time. Crabgrass could get rid of that stuff after a few years. Just a suggestion from an old fat man.
So fix one problem by causing another problem? He should plant it in a clover mix and spray Clethodim over the top of it when the stilt grass gets thick.
That’s probably one of the best videos you’ve made in a long time! I didn’t even mind the sponsor…..since M did it and it was kind of cool how you edited it! I know you gotta “make a Buck”, but it’s not so bad when it’s not you all the time! I really liked that you complimented your wife too! And the tryactin, cracked me up!!! Nice mix of everything really, you ole carpetbagger you…. Lol.
Hi thanks for all the help and information that you provided. I just thought I could help you with the Subaru and the rattle it's more than likely the heat shield like you mentioned. Or the internals of the muffler if it's the catalytic converter heat shield then I first tied my neighbors up with wire and it held for a while and then I Bent it up and secured it better it had bolts that broke off and couldn't get at them I put some fire resistant insulation around it to help with dampening noise and push it in very tight and it worked until they needed to replace it because of a failure and that is more than likely going to happen to your's and at the same time they replace the muffler. It helped them for more than a year. .try it to help with the noise.l like not waking up to the start of there Subaru. Thanks God Bless Dale
Good morning y'all !!! Have a great Sunday, and hello from British Columbia.
Mike , you continually impress me with the mini skid . I have seen so many that did not impress me . and for a standup it is not too bad . Glad Pilates is going good , Melissa .
That Vermeer and it attachments, seems like "the best thing since sliced bread" for someone with your property maintenance needs. I don't know what the coating was that they put on my Prado in 2006 (yes that long ago), but man it has hardly ever needed or had a wash and just keeps looking great. So if it is the same coating then it will be great, as long as your pressure washer doesn't strip it off.
Hello Morgan family! Sorry i missed you this morning! Catching up this evening. Thanks for the content!
OMG!! I need to proof read my stupid smart phones changing my words!! TRIACTING, NOT TRACKING, TRIACTING TRIACTING TRIACTING stupid smart phones!!
Lol
Mike, have you thought about reaching out to an agricultural extension agent and testing the soil. With all those trees in there the PH balance could be off
You’re going to love the Ceramic coating. After getting coated you can use a Maintenance coating in a quick spray like Chemical Guys Hydro View for the windows/glass and Hydro Speed Quick Detailer for the paint. I use the products on my new Yukon Denali also. Hope you enjoy less Mtc with the new coating. 🙏😇🙏 *Pro Tip you can use the Chemical Guys HydroBlitz and it’s an anti-static/dust repel-ant.
Good Morning, Morgans!! On here early TWO days in a row. My new best record 🤣 Have a day!!
We had a Devils Elbow in Scotland, notorious for fatal accidents, it was part of a steep incline leading to a Ski Resort they straightened it out and renamed it Satans Slide.
I’ve done the ceramic on two of my vehicle. Absolutely love it. Easy to keep clean and bugs don’t stick.
Good morning to the Morgans. Have a great day guys. Shawn from NL,🇨🇦
Three days ago I logged into our State DMV so I could renew the tabs on my Bronco 2. Used to be a 5 minute ordeal. No more. Now the State has to send me a letter first so I can register with them. What a joke.
You ever wonder how much time you spend a year just to comply with government rules
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans No. I don't want to go over the edge just yet. Lol.
The state DMV's seem to like seeing us squirm, always making up new rules and changing procedures trying to catch someone off guard. I sent my renewal application in by Certified Mail and they still lost it, I had to call them to find out what was going on. The person who accepts the Mail sent it to the wrong office. They had me squirming wondering if it could be processed in time.
They modified the ID requirements for a driver's license here in Wyoming. They sent a letter to me stating that I would need to bring two pieces of mail addressed to me with my home address. Something like an electric bill or water bill. One of the documents I took was the letter that they had sent to me. They said that no one had done that before but they accepted it.
@@berthongo8531 Once I find out what color the new tabs are...I'm going to print my own.
Hey Mike you might want to check to see if this recall applies to your Subaru. My 2015 had an obnoxious rattle in it and this was the issue. Recall - WUJ-95 FED-Spec EPF Cracking (Non-PZEV)
Mike, I wonder if you have a herd or goats in the area that would eat your Japanese Stilt grass? I have seen videos of goats eating just about any weed you might have. Worth a try maybe? Love your videos.
I noticed the squeak too….not sure if camera angle but the bogey wheel on drinkers side rear didn’t look to be turning when you backed onto trailer. Couldn’t tell if it was the angle or if it was hanging up. May be worth having Melissa drive it while you check em out. Amazing machine but squeaks drive me also.
Mike have you considered putting an electric fence and also put a radio at the food plot. It worked for me in the foothills of North Carolina the deer wouldn't give the Seed time to sprout.🤷♂️ Mike how are the new tires running out on your truck?
Morgan’s good morning , the ceramic on the GMC will be spectacular , I did my daughters Jeep last year , she is so happy , you will love the out come , have a great day 😊
You may want to seriously consider doing a burn down on that stiltgrass before discing and seeding. If not it’s going to continue. Hit it with a mixture of glyphosate and 24-d.
We had some of that same grass show up, had to pull it by its root to get rid of it
The rattle is the heat shield around the manifold. From experience 😊
I think every Subaru does that lol
Japanese still grass is good habitat for critters probably, but it's tough stuff. The more you mow it the more it spreads... Hard to cut with a trimmer.
PPF is a paint protector, ceramics just keeps it pretty and easier to clean. The two of them together is the way to go. PPF the front of the vehicle to prevent. Rock chips.
Beautiful truck, congratulations
Good Sunday Morning Mike...
Pete 🇨🇦
Central USA here. Can't get there from here season. Too many orange barrels and channelizers. Ugh. Son-in-law works highway construction and he's been working midnight to 10 am because of the heat. We also have a dead-man's curve not too many miles away. Very sharp 90 degrees.
Occasionally I rent a brush cutter for my skid steer when areas of my acreage get overgrown. Can't imagine doing it without a cab. You're a better man than me Mr. Morgan.
Lol! Triactin!
CLEARLY a Sunday morning vid…hav a day
Mike, a few years ago, I had never heard of Japanese stilt grass. Now, it has taken over my beautiful 50 acres in South Carolina. It's in my yard, pasture, and woods. It's worse than kudzu.
I was wondering if making a frame and putting some safety glass in it, if they don't already make something, and attaching in front of the controls, would stop a possible ricochet, while using that Virnig Attachment, or is a ricochet something that would never happen with that. I know you talked about the unlikely chance before, though I always think about the "what if", maybe 21 yrs in the military causes that, and try not to take any chances, whenever possible.
Horses love the Japanese grass
In the winter my black truck with the ceramic coating as soon as the sun hit it the snow would just slide off.
YAY for ceramic coating for example I have a white Lincoln MKZ and I was going to take it into my detailer for the first time to have it hand washed and I got stuck in the middle of a torrential downpour I came home pulled it in the garage and I thought for sure it would be full of spots it was spotless clean it dried by itself and the soft water from the rain didn't leave any spots behind it was amazing unbelievable so you'll be able to use your pressure washer and rinse it off once a week or however amount of time it takes to get somewhat dirty I'm still shocked that to this day how easy it is to keep the car cleaning it stays clean by itself
Best advertising using Melissa with different voice stands out!!!
You will be very happy with the ceramic coating. I own a Black SUV. Works great.
Smaller contractors mostly have to rely on subcontractors and when theres lots of work in a area its very hard to get dump trucks to haul fill or other stuff stone ect.
I live in center county in PA. The only way I can control Japanese Stiltgrass is with a herbicide 2 x a season for a couple of years in a row. I killed Buch Honeysuckle about 3 acres , looked great then the stiltgrass happened, it just never ends ! Good luck
Oh man, Mellissa reminds me of my wife, always ready for a jab ... LOL. Triactin, and here I thought it was some sort of medicine / pill .. LOLOL. I was drinking my morning coffee and almost shot it out of my nostril. I had my wifes Jeep ceramic coated and the best thing we ever did. Enjoy your day :)
That's not a rattle, it's the Subaru mating call.
Nice drive. Like the food plot/ turn around.
Mike, mowing or tilling won’t get rid of grass problem. Wouldn’t, spraying it with roundup two to three weeks before you want to seed be a better choice?
My wife loved the triactin line!
