Howdy, partner! Thanks for tuning in! Sounds like you are talking about the searing vents. Those are only needed for high heat grilling like hot dogs or hamburgers. Good luck and enjoy!
I've been using my pit boss for 1 week now and have followed your suggestions. When smoking St. Louis ribs today, I realized 3 hrs into the cook, I only had the grate open half way. What is the rule for sliding it open and closed? Thank you
Howdy, partner! The grate is mainly for searing when grilling high heat items like steak or hamburgers. You can leave it completely closed when smoking to avoid the risk of flare-ups.
Hey does your smoker make I weird noise on the fan I noticed it when hooking it up today. Just wondering f you noticed it. Gonna try it tomorrow but seen a you tube video about it making the same noise.
Very nice video Sir!. On Brickseek I see these are clearanced for $137 at my local Wallfarts. I'm going to pick one up for Labor Day camping next weekend. Do they come with probes? And what seasoning do you recommend for pork butt? Camping will be with my Asian wife and her friends and they love pork :)
Thanks, partner! Sounds like a great deal. No, I don’t think they come with probes. There should be one linked in the description that I purchased aftermarket. As far as seasoning, I like the Pit Boss seasoning line. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Hey partner! It lasts a long time. We have smoked for 10 hours and still had some left. Depends on the outside temperature, but even in colder weather you shouldn’t need to refill more than once during any cook. We have never had to refill if started with a full hopper. Thanks for watching!
I saw another video of a guy cooking a pork butt. He recommended taking off that thick layer of fat before you put it on the smoker. That way, when it's done cooking, you'll have more bark. 😋
Howdy, partner! Apart from looking absolutely super cool, the backwards hat is also more aerodynamic allowing smooth seamless movement in any situation. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video instruction. I just got a pit boss pellet grill. trying this exact recipe this weekend. Thanks again
You’re welcome, partner! How did it go?!
This video is on point.. thank you bro!
Appreciate that, partner! Good luck!
Ten thousand thumbs up Greg, thanks for your hard work. Don’t forget to have an ice cold beer or two.
Ten thousand thanks, partner! Really appreciate that and will do!
New Subscriber here. Love your videos. Go Noles. Melbourne Florida here.
Thanks, partner! Nice to meet you!
Nicely done !
Thanks, partner! Much appreciated.
Does it keep temp in colder weather? This is perfect for just me
Howdy, partner! We have had luck with temps in the 40s-50s. Haven’t used it in super cold weather for a whole day. Good luck!
Currently smoking some Boston butts here in KY and it’s about 30F out - no issues holding heat!
Looks delicious!
Yea, partner! It was very good! Thanks for watching!
Looks great nice job thank you for the video
You’re welcome, partner! Appreciate the feedback! Keep tuning in for more!
Looks good. Thanks for the overview.
Thanks partner! Keep tuning in for more!
Do you have the vents completely closed?
Howdy, partner! This unit does not have adjustable vents so they are always in the same setting.
Mr Greg been watching your videos and bought one:) did you use the flame broiler piece for this I never know when to use
Howdy, partner! Thanks for tuning in! Sounds like you are talking about the searing vents. Those are only needed for high heat grilling like hot dogs or hamburgers. Good luck and enjoy!
Any issues with the grease catching fire?
Howdy partner! After each cook when I crank the heat up there may be fire, but when the temps are lower during cook it’s usually fine.

Howdy partner! No, my fan doesn’t make a weird noise. Not sure what that may be? Thanks for watching!
My fan makes a constant weird noise too. This is my first time using it though .

How long does a hopper full of pellets last?

Hey again, partner! That's a good idea. Will have to try it sometime!
Why do you need to wear your ballcap backwards? Seriously. What’s the advantage? Harley Davidson?
Howdy, partner! Apart from looking absolutely super cool, the backwards hat is also more aerodynamic allowing smooth seamless movement in any situation. Thanks for watching!
You’re a faster guy, huh?
