Damnit now I feel sad that he’s gone. This decade is no fun at all... well aside from RAGNAROK.
Fun fact: There’s a rare chance on a boat ride with either Freya or Atreus, Mimir brings up the fact that Kratos once fought in a tournament against “beasts, scoundrels, princesses, the undead, automatons, and history’s greatest musician” AKA: PlayStation All-Stars.
Or MK 9
@@joefloggg3257 mk doesn't have any musicians does it. Like every other reference makes sense but who is a musician in mk. PlayStation all stars has parappa, the rapper

Kratos is a secret lover of riddles, he says he didn't like them, but solve them anyway.
Also, that one of Silence is beautiful
Nah... The dude is really just smart. You wouldn't be able to beat Olympus if you're a dum-dum.
I think that's why he hates riddle, we make him solved too much of them (and sometimes he died in the process ) 🤣
Kratos is just that smart, dude can solve puzzles that put the smartest mens of Olympus to shame and some of these riddle could have killed kratos if he were to fail, Kratos as a mortal used to be a general of a big army of Spartan's.
& the hole one magnificent in its execution.
I think he dislikes riddles because the gods always spoke in riddles to fool him.
Love that the riddle kratos ends up finally liking is answered entirely with logic, his tone when he says he liked it oozes, "ahh a logical solution, how was I so shortsighted?"
All the other riddles were wordplay so I guess that makes sense.
I like the culture exchange between Norse and Greek. 😆
@Dan Allen Gaming get this pretender outta here
@@Letsgetdusty denied
I like how Freya is somewhat sarcastic all the time and seems somewhat insulting, but not in a hostile way. Kinda fits to the overall vibe Kratos has
in a seductive way that freya is 🤤

Freya threatening to hit Mimir with a boot is funny considering she doesn't wear shoes. Either she's promising to put on a boot for the sole purpose of kicking him with it or she's going to just find one to throw at him.
Certain skins she's wearing full on shoes
It's an expression of "kicking" something or someone.
Mimir is going to literally get a boot to the head while Freya is going to donate her fortune to the people of the nine realms so that they can move on from Odin’s rule and build a better life.
Holy shit, Mimir just confirmed that The Lady of the Lake exists in this universe. Then Arthur and Merlin must do as well
Welcome to Bretonnia gentlemen
Dayum, GoW: Round Table soon?
This takes place before Arthur and Merlin so perhaps it’s Atreus who becomes King Arthur and Kratos is Merlin.
I wonder will we see Seiba(artoria pendragon)
He also confirms Macbeth happened as well
Him saying "I like this riddle" Is so great
3:00 I love how even the other pantheons know of Oedipus as a cautionary tale about prophecies
Oh! I didn't realize they were talking about Oedipus. 90% of Greek Mythology is people doing dumb things to avoid bad prophecies so I've wondering which one they were talking about.
@@beomcheolkim8543 also some creatures were first created because they pissed off the wrong God
@@bizzaroblake2519 And Zeus can't keep his pants on
its also Chris Chans favorite tale.
@@sneedfeedandseed2410 We do not talk about him
I think the reason Kratos doesn’t like riddles is because they take up his brain space on things he doesn’t find all too useful.
That’s why he likes the riddle about the 3 doors, since it’s a riddle that he could apply to the real world. All about thinking ahead and battle strategy.
Damn that nimue connection totally took me off guard I would love to see a King Arthur storyline in GOW
Which one was that?
@@sethmiles9436 0:49 Nimue is a name of the Lady of the Lake in Arthurian legends.
theres a lot of cross pollination of myths throughout europe and India. The green man can sometimes be referenced with similarities to Hermes, Odin, and the Dagda or Nuada while the myths surrounding pantheons share numerous traits with other polytheistic traditions including Welsh, northern Spain and Greek areas up into eastern europe. The Exaclibur myth has many many similar analogs including Caladbolg, Fragarach, Durendal, etc.
You and me both. It would be an absolute dream come true for me to see King Arthur and Kratos fighting back-to-back. Blades Of Chaos and Excalibur teaming up!
This game gives us playable Atreus segments and ends with him going off to look for giants. I could see a spin-off about Atreus backpacking around the world through different mythologies.
1:05 So Mimir knew the Lady of the lake before she forged Excalibur.
Yeah it's a cool detail
So Excalibur exists? Alongside the vulgate cycle. Nice detail. If the fae exist does that mean lugh and Balor exist as well
@@karlbenito9992 the Tuatha De Denann have to exist as well if various Celtic figures do. I hope so anyways lol
So that means Mimir is a Celt, hmmmm, I like that (i think Mimir has Irish accent, so it fits well)
Well Mimir is a celt
"The Gjallarhorn...what is it? Where did it come from?"
"It's the masterpiece of Feizel Crux and Victor Lomar, forged to commemorate the Battle of Twilight Gap!"
I was wondering if someone would say this
A real man right here.
upvote for remembering year 1 destiny
I remember when everyone got hyped when that dropped in your inventory
4:42 I get the feeling Kratos only said that so Mimir would shut up about finding a riddle he would like.
'Pit of spikes is easily avoided' speaking with experience I see
Double jump!
The "shame on you"
Kratos got caught 🤣
"Freya would you like to hear a riddle?"
"if you'd like a boot to the head."
"Riddle solved!"
Had me laughing my ass off
Boot to the Head!!! I love that sketch :P
The funnh thing is Freya NEVER wore any shoes lmao
@@ariqsyafwan4987 she shouldn't feel cold
I just like how Kratos is alot more talkative in this game
4:00 very amusing part lol😂😂😂
Mimir just forcing riddles for Kratos is gold
There’s something really fascinating when they bring up the Greek world. Because it’s become actual mythology since all of its worshippers and gods are gone.
And the only first hand source of information is from Kratos.
It’s really cool how, even though we already know everything, when they talk about Greece they talk about an ancient story from a faraway land with magic and creatures foreign and dangerous.
I always forget that Mimir is actually from the British isles
I didn't know at first, I thought it was just a coincidence, the kelpie and others things mimir said, but the nimue part took me by surprise......like.."wait! Who?!!", that's when it hit me, This Mimir is Celtic, now I want to see more crossovers with other pantheons
3:59 this got me good😂
1:04 Is no one going to talk about Mimir casually talking about Nimue---the lady of the lake in the Arthurian legends?
Well, this is interesting. The mermaid from the lake that made a powerful sword Mimir is talking about, Nimue, is the Lady of the Lake and the sword she made is Excalibur.
So I am curious, was this a case of Norse mythology mixing with the British after their successful invasion of England? More importantly, does that mean the next God of War will deal with the Fae and be set in Britain?
Currently hints point to Egypt, it's just that Mimir is also Puck in GOW so it is more like an Easter egg.
Pretty sure queen Liz is a teen during ragnorok
@@SwordTune Possible, but it could just be tied lore to the Greek gods since the Greeks made it out that the Egyptians were also the Greek Gods after Egypt became Greekified and later Romanised. That could mean in the GOW lore the Greeks killed the Egyptian Gods to claim their powers.
We will see but I hope it is Celtic for I find it more interesting from a story telling and culture point.
@@raw6668 Personally, I think the story will flow much smoother if they move from Scandinavia (Norse) to the British Isles (Celtic) which can be easily tied to Greek, Roman, and Egyptian.
2:25 GOW Ascension
Looks like we know Freyja’s favourite comedy sketch.
Boot to the head.
Starting to think Mimir is Merlin, as some mythos does describe him as being part demon. Maybe a stretch but the Nimue connection.
Interesting theory but Mimir is from Scotland. Merlin was from Carmarthen, Wales.
The Norns refer to him as Puck, and he talks a bit about his backstory.
When they visited the Norns, Uro called him Puck. So apparently Mimir is Puck
@@c.alexander4199
Didn't know that. I haven't played the game yet. I have honestly just been listening to Mimirs tales between Kratos, Freya, and Atreaus. I love the stories.
@@thomastome8396 in the first game he talks about serving a faerie king in his youth and his group of friends being called "goodfellows". Before this game confirmed it the faerie king was believed to be Oberon and the "goodfellows" bit was believed to refer to "Robin Goodfellow" another name of Puck.
None of this is to say he can't BECOME Merlin, but he might need a body first.
Thanks for this! I don't have any PS5 atm and I'm really interested with all their conversations and stories. Really happy to have found this. Thanks a bunch!
If you have a PS4 you can get it
Kratos: I don't like riddles
Also Kratos: A natural at solving riddles
these stories are a vibe
Kratos radiating dad energy
Small dialog like these what makes the game more enjoyable...
The entire post game between these 3 is just mimir and freya coming to realise how insane was the Greek gods, thus why odin was so afraid of kratos...
Someone:- Hey can i be your friend?
Kratos:- no!
Love how Kratos did think about Brok’s riddle and discussed with Mimir
1:07
oooh Arthurian pantheon
*EXCALIBUUUUUUUURRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
Mimir's a Scot, right? He said he misses Haggis.
Arthurian ? is that Celtic's one ?
Isnt that just the Cristian God and thats it?
@@That_One_Guy... No actually. The Celtic Pantheon is it's own Pantheon with its own Gods, such as Brigid, Artio, Cliodhna, Cernunnos, Cu Chulainn, and The Morrigan. Arthurian "Pantheon" (if you consider it the way Smite does it) would be King Arthur, Merlin, Morgan Le Fay, Nimue, and King Arthur's Round Table Knights. I could imagine Merlin being God of Magic, Morgan Le Fay being Goddess of Witchcraft and the Dark Arts, King Arthur being the God of Equality (he viewed all his subjects as his peers and equals, and the Round Table itself was a symbol of equality), Nimue being Goddess of Weapon Forging (she created Excalibur) or the Goddess of Water, and all of Arthur's Knights being patron Gods of various Knightly virtues that could become the foundations of the code of Chivalry (from my understanding, the Arthurian timeline is set roughly 450-550 AD).
Did Kratos take on a Sphinx at some point? it would go a great way in explaining why he dislikes riddles.
You miss when freya ask kratos about his homeland
I like how Mimir references the Lady of the Lake.
"So the Oracle herself brought about the very future she hoped to avoid, I suppose we're in fine company of that.."
For having no body, that takes a lot of balls to say that inches away from Freya 😂
You know for the smartest man alive Mimir sure doesn’t know a lot
What is the Gjallahorn? Well, in the years coming it's a very powerful rocket launcher that would have wiped Odin in a few shots
Freya and Kratos need each other
Well, despite the brutal nature, kratos might be actually a quite or extremely smart person, you cannot tear olympus down by just raw rage and power you know, take the titans as an example
1:31 *cough* Dr strange
1:01 Nimue... where have I heard tha... HOLY HELL, HE'S TALKING ABOUT THE LADY OF THE LAKE WHO GAVE ARTHUR EXCALIBUR!
3:46 and that, friends, is what makes Mimir the smartest man alive
So not only is Mimir welch but he know of Vivian and excalibur.
Hes scottish
Wait there's not a story where Mimir ask about story about Kratos going back in time to kill himself
just a guess but I'm pretty sure the sled and boat dialogue is the same
I'd heard Mimir's story about a mermaid when in the boat in Svartalfheim, and I'd heard the dialogue about Sigrun in both the boat and the sled
Good video but it's missing conversations. Like when Mimir asks Freya what did the Stone Mason's son whisper to her year
2:01 (dismissive grunt)
1:03 lady of the lake (Vivian or nimue) and excalibur reference.
I lived for the moment Kratos said "I like this riddle"
i wish we had more stories and conversations
Mimir met Lady Nimue AND saw Excalibur?!? He really does get around!
2:48 anyone else see a sata hat mountain in the background 😂
he even stumped kratos with that riddle
A reminder that kratos is super smart
he beat hera's puzzles
Veeery talented with a with a sword.
HARRY!
0:51 Nimue. King Arthur reference?
I guess mimic knew the lady of the lake from king Arthur legend
5:30 kratos had a perverted mind. “Shame on you”
Nimue is the Lady of the Lake, aka Excalibur's maker.
Please Interview with "a Plague Tale" cast
Is it ever said what breaking the curse cost Freya?
"Mm. I like this riddle".
oh wow isnt nimue the lady of the lake in the king arthur mythos?
The answer to broks riddle is "a hole"
Kratos became talkative when with freya
3:33 *cries T^T
I like the King Arthur reference
Are the conversations in GOW are on a loop or keep on repeating? Or it will happen only once?
Imagine a this kratos asmr
I wanna see Kratos meet the Sphinx and absolutely body him
magical smurf blacksmith is love magical smurf blacksmith is life
For anyone wondering, the tragedy of the Theban king is Oedipus Rex

This was a good view. Appreciate it. 😂
Me after this video:brotah
Nimue is the lady of the lake, possible Arthurian legend crossover in the future?
Yeah but after you get there how do you get to other side of pitmines! There's a chest over there I didn't get
Does anyone know if when playing the game if they will repeat the same stories, or is it a one and done line. I love the game i just don't own a playstation and got curious.
isn't nimue the lady of the lake in arthurian legend
Yes
Yup, and her fancy sword makin, well everyone knows Excalibur
missed the stuff about Olives
I am sure kratos will open the gate with dragon.
1:05 Nimue as in King Arthur Nimue?
really miss atreus comments in these story
what in the hell kratos imagined by a woman very talented wth a sword. giving the best handie? 😂
Here’s a riddle Kratos would enjoy “How can someone deal with a deathly fear of elevators?”
They have steps to avoid them
I feel like there could be more stories. Like come on! Fully completing the game takes about 40-50 hours and they are giving us only a few minutes of stories. After 1 hour everyone is dead quiet. It becomes quite boring.
So Mimir is Mirddyn ?!! Merlin ?
So mimir is from Briton? Interesting.
00:52 Witcher Reference?
King Arthur
The witcher books later referenced the arthurian legends
Nimue? lol so King Arthur also exists
The excalibur origin?
I think the funniest thing is people and gods of both realms believe that Kratos is stupid hahahaha no he is not... tho sparta is focused on physical development they are not dumb... They are second to athenians when it comes to general knowledge and the best when it comes to military knowledge.. hahahaha why do people think kratos is merely brawn he literally destroyed olympus, that's not a feat that anger alone can do..
1:35 is that a Spider-Man no way home reference???
to anyone who may wonder nimue is the lady of the lake from arthurian myth
There's gotta be more than 6 minutes worth
