I never understood why all these ugly and weird looking people feel they need to have their face on camera. It adds nothing to the video and most of them are so ugly they should wear a mask when they go out in public.
Nice video. However, if you don't stop shaking that (fairly invisible) cursor without any reason, and just after, at 0:57 "if you go to..." it becomes impossible to locate where to find the menu/command, especially if your and my application languages are different. Thank you to take care of that.
Hey there, First off, thanks for this video! I have a quick question. I tried doing this method on DR Studio 17, however, it didn’t have the same workflow. In project settings there’s a tab that says Davinci Neural Engine. Would that apply to the entire timeline? And if not, is there a work around to implement the de-interlacing on individual clips. There’s a tab called field dominance under the clip attributes tab, but it’s set to Auto-Progressive. Should I set it to Upper field? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
It's still there but in a new location. Go to Project Settings, then to Image scaling. It is automatically on. However, this feature is available only in the Studio version of DaVinci
It should be noted that this feature is only available for the paid Version of DaVinci Resolve. So at last 299US$ for just deinterlacing some very old videos in 720 x 5xx resolution from my old DV Corder I just discovered in the basement....
Yes there are. Virtual Dub for once. It´s a little bit outdated (matching my DV Corder) but runs on W10 just fine. Or you can use Format Factory which is free for home use but is known by some users to occasionally try to install adware during the install process. It doesn´t try it here though. Both programms do the job well.
@@marcusavanti902 Sorry I thought you were looking for deflickering, So for deinterlacing it is ON automatically in DR17 and the quality is set to Normal. If you want to change the quality go to Project Settings / Image scaling. you will find it there. Let me know if this helps. I am talking about DR17 Studio.
Quick Question, so the clips I am using do not have interlacing they are fine. The issue is when I export the video it has interlacing. How can I keep my exported video from having interlacing?
For some reason, my clips (from various sources) changed to interlaced upon render. None of the source clips were interlaced and interlaced wasn't selected in the render. I did however change the frame rate as a test. When I changed it back to the original, this solved the issue.
flickering is the result of recording fps in realation to frequenz of the lights, if u have this problem while recording u maybe can fix this with changing recording fps. the tool in davinci is a great tip
I never did that before. But I don’t see any reason why not. If you get rid of interlacing in third party software and export the clip, you can easily import it in DR and replace the old one. I would only suggest to export highest resolution possible and using lossless codec like Apple Prores or DNxHD to not lose much quality.
I don't know if you were able to find a solution but in Davinci Resolve 17 Deflickering is moved to the coloring tab. If you go to the coloring tab and click Open FX you will be able to locate deflickering effect there.
I wish most UA-cam tutorials were this straight-forward. Thanks for uploading.
Thank you!

Great thank you and so quick with out all the gubbins people usually put in tutorials!

Upper or lower field both will work fine!
Just tried this is Davinci 18. NO DE-INTERLACING. Why would they change that?

@@lightsandshadowsproductions Oh, I have the free one (to test the waters first) Thanks very much for the response though. 😁Subscribed.

Correct. Probably there are some cheaper or even free solutions to that. It definitely not worth upgrading to paid version just for that.

Thanks. I could not find this option in the free version. It appears the free Resolve only processes the lower field of my test clip.
There is no button in davinci 17, any idea how to do this in the newer version?
Yes. Go to color tab it’s under effects there on the right. If you can’t find it, there is another video on this channel that shows how.
@@lightsandshadowsproductions That other video does even mention deinterlacing I checked

This only works in studio version :(
Interresting. Which deinterlacing method is used by davinci? Thank you
Hi! Unfortunately I don’t know which method Davinci uses I just know how to use it in Davinci Resolve 16.5. Thanks.

Same, it's making me want to switch from it. Did you figure it out?
I know it's kinda off topic but does anybody know a good place to watch new tv shows online ?

This video explains how it works on Davinci Resolve 16. Davinci Resolve 17 is in beta still. I wouldn’t rely on it for any serious project.
