It's made with durable, water resistant waxed twill and vegetable tanned leather, but it's also got neon ripstop nylon lining and a lot of more modern design cues. The Rally Pack is Pack Animal's flagship product and after haunting my timeline for months, I decided I had to add it to my pantheon. How does it stack up to my other heritage backpacks?

You can cut off the leather patch with a sharp cutter knife. May leave some small holes though depending on how thick the thread is.

@@DanyReyesJuggler it has served me well for like 2 years and then last winter the two brass slide adjusters on the shoulder straps broke, technically one of them had been broken for a while but I just never noticed it (one of the straps kept getting longer when i use it despite me adjusting it). this rendered the bag unusable, I reached out to the company to see if they can repair it or at least sell me some replacement parts, I emailed them several times, never even got a response. 2 years is till a long time but are products like this supposed to last a really long time? that being said I don't really recommend this brand anymore

@@Stridewise It was an older video. A satire about those easy one-pot recipes that are over complicated called: "Perfect One-Pot, Six-Pan, 10-Wok, 25-Baking Sheet Dinner". Good stuff. Then, that over-the-top bag advertisement. The bag has style, though. You have good taste.
Awesome review! I see the Nutsac rucksack is in your article but I would strongly suggest checking out there bags first hand if you haven't. They are by far my favorite bags amongst the other waxed canvas ones I've tried! I love my Nutsac 😏
You know the construction seems solid it just doesn't *look* that good to me, I don't love the design! But I'll def try it out :)

Did you mention how much it can hold? Looks like 30 liters? This is sort of interesting but those loud buckles on the side bug me. I actually don’t mind the patch.
25 liters! The belts on the side are the hardest to stomach I agree
You can find their supplier over seas for a fraction of the price. They were even using the same image as the source company.

I found the same supplier but realized that the supplier was leaving things out like the waterproof lining, sternum strap, and some of the other smalls details.
Not only do I like this bag, but they also make a pretty nice waxed jacket as well that I was tempted to get even though I already own a filson waxed jacket. The only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger on either is that damn patch. I think it is just plain tacky... since I have a waxed jacket, it was easy to skip getting another one....but I do need a sturdy carry bag for short trips, so I'm still on the fence on this one....
I'm going to just cut the patch off with a box cutter, I think! I have the jacket too :)

do you have any idea why there are seemingly zero reviews aside from yours on youtube? there's nothing on reddit about this bag even. while i would absolutely buy this new if it were american made and priced to reflect that, i am a little sketched out by the lack of coverage. that being said, i ordered one secondhand at a very, very reasonable price and think it will suit my light needs very well. I really would like the Peg&Awl rogue, but the size makes me a little hesitant. Thanks for opening my eyes to packs that are exactly what I'm after!

Bought one I kind of like it for the design but some stitching failed. So, be careful attaching it to the motorcycle. For a $275 back pack and poor customer service. Emailed them and called them with no response. So far nothing. For the price go Filson instead, Filson does have awesome guarantee and customer service.

Buyer beware re: Pack Animal. They are apparently out of business. No e-mail responses when I asked a couple questions before I was going to buy. No return phone calls. Good luck with any warranty / getting your backpack fixed if something goes wrong with it.

Pack Animal doesn't seem to be out of business. I ordered the Rally Pack a few months ago (Sep 2023). It shipped a day after I placed my order and was on my doorstep the following week.
Wish I could say the same but I placed an order and haven’t heard anything since. Seems to be a scam
