This is something I find really interesting is in the country I live in, people around my age (early 30s late 20s) who grew up watching wrestling in the mid-late 90s because WCW was so much bigger here then WWF always call Nash/Hall their WCW nicknames and barely remember Razor/Diesel gimmicks

I think Cornette respects that Nash was able to fleece large sums of money and play chess while everyone else plays connect four. Nash has had his injuries but he's came out way better than 80% of the guys in the 90s. Nash has made 6-7 figure checks for the last 30 years.
wrestling is about getting the biggest reaction while doing the least work. kevin was great at that, like most all of the other stars of his time. the words work rate have killed a lot of what wrestling is supposed to be in modern fans minds. work rate is what i want to see in tag team matches but tag team wrestling is a dying art.

Jim was put in a stupid spot having to train Kane to be Diesel. His anger was never at Kevin it was having to deal with a bad idea. Nash was never a Bobby Eaton style worker. He was an attraction. As a booker you can only do so much with an attraction because he can’t sell at least believably.

People don't get the obvious, the elephant in the room, the writing on the wall, what's right in front of them etc. I've said it for years, it's personalities that get over in "Pro Wrestling", the business is about entertainment, the people want to be entertained first and foremost, before they sit there through a "wrestling" match, which is pre-determined. It's about entertainment through story telling in and out of the ring, but in order to be successful at this because not everyone can do it successfully, you have to have a personality that clicks with the audience, guys like Hogan, Nash and of course the Rock, are guys that had those magnetic personalities that just drew the fans to them and so like he said, that was their "secret sauce" they didn't have to do much, they can say less then this entire comment and still get over.
Hogan didn’t do much outside Japan and he’s the biggest star in the history of wrestling. Stone Cold didn’t do much after the neck thing when he blew up and became the second biggest star in wrestling history. Ain’t nothing wrong with it.

This guy went from Oz to Vinnie Vegas to Diesel to Kevin Nash in like a decade and his wrestling style always stayed the same. Only 2 of those gimmicks failed. In a short period he went from a jobber to main eventer in both companies using that style of wrestling. So the question then was it the style or the character? When it clearly obviously we know Oz was held back he was world champion material. That rubber mask. That top hat. The presentation was on point. I jest of course.
I would love for Jim and Kevin to have a two hour conversation maybe doing an hour on Jim’s channel in an hour on Kevin’s channel. I’ve been a big fan of both of these guys since I was a kid and I’m in my mid-40s now. But as far as the five move thing, I think more big guys should do less. Seeing a guy that 6 foot eight and 300 pounds trying to do stuff like Rey Mysterio junior doesn’t make any sense. It looks dumb.
