    I like this a lot, very entrepreneurial Bjorn! I know you are just doing this to help as many people as possible, but you could make a lot of money out of this.

    Do you know anything if there's a CCS-Adapter coming? In the EU that's the standard and not much new charging stations with CHAdeMo will be built.

    Commercial charging stations should be equipped with ChadeMo adapters like "fastned" in the Netherlands.

    The CHAdeMO program is even more important now that Supercharging will no longer be free.

      Still like nothing compared to prices at many Chademo stations...and still cheaper than gas.

    Tesla owners in Canada should start a similar Chademo lending program. The center of Canada has almost no Superchargers. Many people who need to drive across Canada end up detouring through the USA to get fast charging.

    What are your thoughts about the fast charging network that the major car manufacturers are going to build? Wonder if the superchargers will increase speed even more and if tesla will support that speed one day.

      You are asking Bjorn, but let me also answer :-) You think the 350 kW chargers? Probably unhealthy speed for Tesla battery. It would charge Tesla in like 15 minutes, but hey, even your phone is not charged for 15 minutes - it would harm battery (in long run). Tesla Supercharger has probably "the ideal speed" not to damage the battery. I guess this 350 kW chargers can be "universal charger" for everyone, using whatever speed the car can handle: E.g. Nissan Leaf could charge there at ~ 40 kW, Tesla S/X at ~ 100 kW, and electric trucks, buses, (or cars with battery technology which can handle it) at 350 kW.

    Nice lending program Bjørn! Do you sell the adapters too? Here in the NL the most 50kw QC do have an adapter next to the charger fixed with a little steelcable. Also all Fastned stations are equipped with it.

      Dan zou je toch echt eens de oudere video's op dit kanaal moeten bekijken, zoals de trips naar Bergen en de noordkaap.

    For those of us still researching the Teslas, what exactly does the adapter do? Does it slow down the charging, or speed it up?

      It allows you to charge on the 50 kW DC fast charging network and get about 200 km/h.

      Echinops SK yes it fits on to the chademo conector and the other end goes into the tesla Bjorn has videos showing how to connect the adapter and then plug it into the tesla

      It's kinda funny seeing charging speed has the same unit as velocity

    • @bjornnyland
      @bjornnyland  8 років тому +1

      Julius Putra Tanu Setiaji It's very convenient. For example, if you need 100 km of range and you know that the CHAdeMO can deliver 200 km/h, then you know you have to charge for half an hour.
      It would be less convenient if you needed 100 km of range and you only knew that the charging station would give you 45 kW.

    are tesla now charhing for superchargers?

    • @okkeharr
      @okkeharr 8 років тому +1

      If you order your model s or x before december 31 and take delivery before april 1. you get free supercharing for the life of the car. Cars ordered / delivered after the deadlines get 400 kWh pr. year free, and have to pay if they use more than that.

    You should be pushing the manufacturers for a single standard of charging plug and socket to get rid of the confusion and inconvenience
    At the same time get rid of membership charging it should be simple pull up to any charger plugin and pay like gas stations - it works so why change
    Bjorn time to get on you soap box use your youtube power
