Super great vid guys, very very informative and well explained, pls keep the clips and vids coming, its great stuff. Gotta love that Candy Red, with a white pick guard thats just a stunning color. Been a fan and user of your products since '89, looking forward to another Warmoth build someday!!!
hey arron! you guys should do a full video series from ordering parts thru the website, going thru the production of the body and neck thru each stage and final assembly. i think it would be a pretty cool way to see a "full build".
I'd love to see you do a video like this for some of your burst finishes. I love the look of Fender's sienna burst finish and depending on if it's in the builder or a body in the showcase your honey burst finish looks sort of reddish exactly like that, but I'm not sure if that's usually the case. It would be nice to see a video where the different options were shown side by side
i always love your videos...legit one of the best companies ever...i like fiesta red the most but i wish it was more orangey (like having an aged nitro finish over it)
Thanks a lot for this! I've always wanted myself a Mark Knopfler red Strat, and I'm not sure if I would go with bright red or Dakota red. I love the Dakota but I'm not sure if that's the closest to my goal.
I love that Bright Red. I want a Tele Deluxe in satin bright red. Is getting a satin candy finish kind of cancelling the candy out of the finish? I love the look of candy as well as the look of satin finishes.
You guys should please expand your color pallet! A Lime Green and/or "warmoth turtle" green, a nice groovy purple, not too bright but not as dark, bubble gum pink. Just some colors id really like to have on my guitars, but cant really find anywhere that does those colors
Hey Aaron, could you do a tone test to help us understand the different effects on tone from different body finishes? I've found your previous tone tests really interesting and informative. You always take care to demonstrate how similar your baselines are, so you obviously understand how valuable that kind of stuff is. And along those lines, I think it'd be neat to compare the tones of three bodies cut from the same block (if that's even possible) before finishing them in nitro, poly and roasting. Whaddya think? Anyway, keep on filming : )
Ha....wading into the nitro vs poly waters is dangerous. Many a ship has crashed on those rocks! Since Warmoth doesn't offer nitro on bodies I probably won't be doing a video like that any time soon....but I won't deny it would be fun, informative, and just the right stuff to enrage the masses!
Five things: 1 - I freaking love you guys. 2 - If you say "Aaron Cheney" in Italy, people will think that you're talking about a delicious ball of fried risotto rather than a super cool proprietor of amazing guitar bodies and necks. 3 - If you offered Nitro (not for any pseudo-tone reasons, but rather because I really like the way it ages over time), I'd probably never need to buy another Strat-style guitar from anyone but Warmoth. 4 - If you offered a body style like the Anderson Pro Am or the Suhr Standard, I probably wouldn't ever need to buy a Super Strat from anyone but Warmoth. 5 - Any progress on the recessed 510 route I saw being chatted about on Facebook? *Bonus point: I really freaking love you guys.
Nice video. You mentioned that Candy (Apple) Red, often expressesd as "CAR," is often seen on automobiles. Well Fiesta Red (#dd1923) was used on the 1956 Ford Thunderbirds. Lots of guitar colors, like Lake Placid Blue were automotive paints that Leo Fender adopted for his instruments. Also would have like to have seen Sunset Orange in that lineup. Even though the name says "orange," it's as much a red as Fiesta or Bright Red. It's also one of my favorite Warmoth transparent dyes!
@@warmoth No problem. I love all things Warmoth. I still have a nech-thru Strat that was the cover of Warmoth's paper booklet catalogue from back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. I'm on my 4th Warmoth project now; a beautifully-grained swamp ash H×S×H Jazzmaster w/ quartesawn maple Tele neck & rosewood board. Warmoth RULES!
Warmoth could offer a relic option where they ship it without packing marerial in the box so it bounces around. For extra cost they could toss in all the bits they nip off the fret ends after installing them. lol
No, Fender has no trademark on the names of paint colors. In most cases the paints were named by the paint manufacturers, and often were used in the auto industry prior to Fender using them.
But what you REALLY need is a bright-ish orange. For some unfathomable reason you ditched Neon Orange a while back. It was close, but what I was actually looking for was the color of a Creamsicle®, those Popsicley things with vanilla ice cream on the inside and orange Popsicle® on the outside. You couldn't call it Creamsicle® Orange without getting your asses sued off, so call it Safety Orange or Tahitian Sunset or something.

Awesome review, really helped clear up which red paint to buy for my guitar re spray
These color comparison vids are super helpful. I'd love to see one on burst finishes.
yes !

Very helpful for peeps to see the difference and decide on a color.
Awesome video, and kudos for keeping the lighting dialed in and consistent across the comparison. And yeah, Cinder Red all day long.
I love these color comparison videos. Here's hoping for one of blue/turquoise finishes, and if possible, including satin ones :)
i always love your videos...legit one of the best companies ever...i like fiesta red the most but i wish it was more orangey (like having an aged nitro finish over it)
Love these videos
It would be nice to see how they look with a satin finish.
Thanks a lot for this!

I love the Dakota but I'm not sure if that's the closest to my goal.
U serious? This video is almost made for me! Thank you! :D
I love that Bright Red. I want a Tele Deluxe in satin bright red. Is getting a satin candy finish kind of cancelling the candy out of the finish? I love the look of candy as well as the look of satin finishes.
You should absolutely do a whole series about fender colors... blue comparisons, grays and blacks, etc
Guys really got topics covered.
Love it!!
You'll have to do another showing green finishes next (Surf, Seafoam, etc).
Already did Surf vs Seafoam: ua-cam.com/video/ph_d49Pd8LU/v-deo.html
Mega!!! I'll check it out!
Could be helpful a video about Silver, Pewter and Charcoal Frost, these 3 colors are not easy to catch on catalogues and configurator.
Oooh, I was so much expecting satin finishes. Maybe next video? :)
Love these. Can we possibly get a purple finish comparison?
Is Warmoth's bright red similar to Fender's hot rod red? I love that Mark Knopfler's strat
Cheers!
That Red on a Flame Maple is sweet!
Candy red and Dakota red are my prefered. Cool video!
I could'nt dream a video like that ... you did it ! thank you from France
Came here to see what the solid black cherry color looks like. Disappointed that it's not here. Is there another video where I can see it?
Candy red for solid color paint jobs and Red Dye for nice top woods

Oh my god i love them all! What am i have to do? Must be a guitar freak))))

My Fender P bass is Cinder Red (except I think the Warmoth finish has more orange in it)!
is there anything you guys have that could replace a Wizard neck?

There's a finish called "Torino Red" I encountered mostly used on some strats... Is it the synonym for some of these or whole other thing?
Candy Red!
"... and we prepare all of these colors in the redrum, Mrs. Torrance."
Would you make it for the purple offers?
Wish you guys had a midnight wine red
Is bright red closer to Knoffler’s hot rod red?
this video appeals to me.
Great
What about Torino Red? Where is that in the spectrum?
Torino red is my all time favorite!!!
Honestly I could not tell the difference between Fiesta red and bright red. They look exactly the same to me on my monitor.
RED?! Awww man, don't you know that BLUE sounds the best? 😜
Do you also offer light relic or nos versions of these finishes?
Nope, we don't do any relic finishes.
Warmoth could offer a relic option where they ship it without packing marerial in the box so it bounces around. For extra cost they could toss in all the bits they nip off the fret ends after installing them. lol
Candy apple is like warmoth candy?
I want to build a clone of Adrian smiths 80's Ibanez destroyer but I can't find a substitute for "Fire red".

Can you do one on your oranges? 🍊
Which red is closer to Ed's Schwinn Red?Dakota or Bright Red?
Total guess, but I would say Bright Red.
Any else got Sammy Haggar stuck in your head? RED!
Guys you paid for a warmoth add before this, basically a warmoth add.
My three Warmoth bass builds all have candy red bodies.
Time for some color variation, don't ya think. Variety is the Spice of Life!
Take a shot every time Aaron says "red"
Does Warmoth offer any Nitro finish options for their strat bodies?
Nope, no nitro. Thin poly is our jam.
What about Black Cherry Metallic, isn't that red too?
True! I should have grabbed one of those too! Oh well...an excuse for more videos!
Now if I could just get transparent or dye fiesta red over some flamey figure...
Fiesta Red always looks a bit orange-y to me. Best red for a 60s style strat build in my opinion.
I see why ppl like hank marvin called his fiesta red strat coral pink or salmon pink cause it got a pink to it
How are you able to use exact Fender colours? Doesn't Fender have some kind of copyright over the names of them?
No, Fender has no trademark on the names of paint colors. In most cases the paints were named by the paint manufacturers, and often were used in the auto industry prior to Fender using them.
@@warmoth Oh cool to know, thanks. 🤙🏼

What body is that at 1:28?
Z Body. Check it out: www.warmoth.com/Guitar/Bodies/Radical/Zbody.aspx
There is only one red - Candy Apple Red :)
I'm curious how Dakota Red sounds compared to Shell Pink. Does it sound more brilliant and shimmery? I think it would.
You missed the red flake :(((
Transparent red is great you can see the wood underneath.
Red as long as u play Eddie Van Halen ! Ha ha

i feel like fiesta red is too light in 2:59 compare to 0:43
I hate candy apple red. Lipstick Dakota and Fiesta are sweet.
