I just want to offer the entire Warmoth family my condolences regarding Ken's passing. It saddened me to hear the news, we had exchanged a couple of letters once after a parts order (he wondered if I was related to someone he once knew). Hope you all are in good spirits!
@@warmoth Do you guys make 70's replacement bodies with the 3 bolt neck pocket etc.? I have a 70's strat with a neck and pickups that I love but it's soooo heavy I want a lightweight Swamp Ash body to replace the heavy northern ash or whatever it is. I love the guitar other than the weight. Really need to find a lightweight replacement body without trying to make it a 4 bolt. More hassle than I need trying to convert it to 4 bolt. I want a 3 bolt. Thanks!
This is a great channel, you have a video for every question I can think of your products! I'll be looking forward to building a S-style guitar from Warmoth parts after I graduate!
I'd love to build a Daphne Blue Strat from Warmoth. I've spent far too many hours on that site trying to figure out what my dream guitar would be. You guys do a fantastic job...thanks for the info!
Hi guys from Warmoth! I'd like to thank you all for making all these in-depth videos along with the guitars themselves, as it is a huge help for me and probably people like me to know what kind of differences and options there are, and what some features are of each thing :)
at 2:07 that's exactly what happened to me. had to dremel out the pickup routes even lower than the existing depth to fit Gen. 4 noiseless pickups. good learning experience and turned out cool in the end
I got a Warmoth replacement body. I compared the tone to my '91 Fender strat body and I don't even want to use my Fender body anymore. There is more sustain in the Warmoth body, same alder wood on both. The neck joint is perfect on the Warmoth. Got a tele body too and the wood grain looks so good through the tobacco sunburst that I couldn't put a pickguard on it.
that little rout between the tele pup cavities is probably bc they didnt have the machinery or drills figured out to drill all the way into the electronics cavity at the right angle. That way they could use two steps to get it right.
Arron, I just ordered a custom neck with inlays & a roaster swamp ash Strat hybrid body, This my 3rd set of body and necks, Keep up The videos. Could you possibly do a video on how you apply clear gloss finish to ash bodies ? Mike
If you want perfectly shaped upper bout edge then buy the standard strat body and not the vintage body. This is a unique feature to warmoth because of both the shallow tummy cut and shallow forearm cut plus lots of sanding to create that perfect consistantly thick edge.
🙋This brings up an interesting point. Let’s say you go way back and find an old Fender 🎸 body with a design flaw/bad design that was corrected subsequently. Should new old stock be faithful to the original design or subtly fix the flaw, provided it doesn’t change the look of the body? 🤔
Vintage reproductions are basically fan-service, so it's what the fans want that drives the design. And in the case of the T body in particular, they want that router bump! If we didn't include it there would be wailing, gnashing of teeth, and rending of clothes!! Villages have been burned for less.
Warmoth Guitar Products I agree with your assessment. My head tells me any flaws should be fixed based on what we know in 2019. However, my gut tells me there is a legion of lurkers would love to take to the Warmoth forums and scream to anyone within bamdwidth that THEY have uncovered YOUR MISTAKE! , Aaron 😱
do you guys have a video where you explain the hardware, electronics, and other non warmoth parts you carry? like why are you carrying bridge X instead of bridge Y? because they are good designs? universal comparability? value? thx
If I want to put a 3 bolt neck on a vintage body, will the index hole line up with one of the holes in the neck or should I select the filled index hole option?
Hi Guys, just a quick Q: I have ordered/purchased 4 vintage Strat hard tail one piece bodies of various woods with a variation of vintage custom necks. I noticed in the video the counter sunk ferule method for the Tele will need the Warmoth special ferules. Will this method apply to the Vintage Strat hard tail bodies as well?
What about that extra opening in the neck pickup cavity that's pictured in the thumbnail? Doesn't seem to be featured on the standard model either. i assume that's the truss rod access?
Didn't think to mention it in the video, but that's exactly what it is: truss rod access for the vintage-style necks where the adjustment nut is at the heel.
nobody ever talks about the difference in the Telecaster bridges and the different thru the body string hole locations and mounting screw locations, There are also different locations of the bridge pickup.. .....the demo in this video is for vintage Telecaster with the ash tray bridge not for the USA Telecaster.
FYI, the little thin route between the pickup routes is called the "smugglers cavity", but because of drug-sniffing dogs, it isn't practical anymore...
If anyone has used this tele body please comment and get in touch with me. I’ve yet to find any pictures other That Warmoths preview than a build where the pickguard hump looked so big and the lower horn was an awful fit which is not like Warmoth. I’m looking for an alternative to musikrafts blackguard body
I wish they would allow for neck-through, or glued necks on some models. Obviously, Fenders are bolt-on, but allowing for neck-through or glued options would be nice. Also, it would be nice if the would do true 24-fret necks rather than the extended fretboard versions, because they won’t do binding on the 24-fret necks. Also, on Gibson-style bodies, they only allow for three-way toggle; no 5-way switches. So, the customization options are limited. I don’t see why people aren’t allowed to put 5-ways on a V, SG, or Les Paul type body. They are allowed to get them routed for three pickups.
What do you think about the comedic visual effect of two Aaron's holding a different body for comparison in the same picture? Also love your intro, it reminds me of this old finnish comedy intro. One of the actors is a musician Heikki Silvennoinen, often nicknamed the Clapton of Kangasala (a place in Finland). Brilliant guitarist. Has vaguely similar vibe so I get nostalgic every time I hear Warmoth intro. ua-cam.com/video/MVU2K1uxEGE/v-deo.html
I like that when you go vintage you included every detail.
would be compatible without that.

WARMOTH rocks...you guys have been doing it right so long I cant think of a time when a Warmoth part wasnt the right choice. Keep it up guys!
The right choice AND the right price for what you get.
Thank you for this channel! I'm learning a lot more and with more ease about my favorite instrument. Stay home and safe!

It's something most guitar players don't even think about. We all just assume its an industry standard thing...but nope.

wow, I had no idea. I had a Tele 62 reissue and always wondered why the output jack countour was flat and not rounded.
You guys ever going to make a tele b bender body?
Very interesting, thanks!
Can you do a video on how to order a body and neck combo on your site?
Awesome, but I need to make a Strat with a tele headstock
At the risk of getting trolled for encouraging such behavior, DO IT.
Easy peasy! We can make you a Tele replacement neck with a Strat-shaped heel. Just give us a call! :)

Always a playsure to hear you say "measure."
Thanks for the informative video. Can the ferrules you sell also fit the vintage bodies?

Would these fit a MIM tele neck?
I used to be married to a vintage body now I have a new modern body and I prefer the modern body for sure,
Do you have any variations in the Bass Bodies?
So the Vintage Tele edge roundover radius is 1/8"...but what is the Standard radius? Did I miss it? Maybe 3/16" or even 1/4"?
What year did Fender change from the vintage style body to the modern style for the Telecaster?
If I want to put a 3 bolt neck on a vintage body, will the index hole line up with one of the holes in the neck or should I select the filled index hole option?
Who prefers the standard to the vintage or vice versa?

There is no difference. The neck pocket is exactly the same.

From what I see on the website, no. Maybe if you called/emailed them about it they could so it custom to your order?
