I just got a Kiesel that I picked up 1100 used, and those lithium pickups are insanely aggressive when you want them to be, but very low noise. I love em, they’re especially great for 8 string.
Definitely can get almost any guitar to sound like anything other when you mess with the eq or model a different amp, etc. Just bought a kit guitar and a set of Kiesel passives. Going to test both and see if I can even tell the difference. Thanks for the upload.
I like the sizzle on the Fishman Fluence in active but the clarity was evident on the Keisel, but they do sound similar in passive. K-85’s sound so good with Randall amps!
I just ordered my zeus with fishmans simply because its cheaper to spend the money now rather than trying aftermarket pickups on a multi scale. You’re totally right about being able to modify signal chain to make them sound almost identical.
dude love how you put out this vid and agree man. I own a Valvestate 8100 and my main guitar is EMG 81/85 and honestly I do not think they pair well with the amp at all. Actives were made to push a tube amp into overdrive more. Sure 8100 has the pre tube, but the actives in my opinion make the solid state characteristics sound more compressed than already is, and more crunchy/raw in the upper midrange than they already do. Where passives compliment solid states far more ultimately cause are more dynamic. I’m kinda surprised you haven’t tried installing a pair of Dimes L500 yet (i believe bill and becky version is more like the OG version), they seem like extremely dynamic and full range pickups from demos i’ve heard and would make sense they’d compliment passives very well. anyways of course it’s a game of margins but also for the love of gear, cause your tone is pretty killer!!!!! 🤘
Right on John, ya I might be getting some Lawrence’s in there soon, I had a custom washburn stealth dime spec guitar that someone was building for me and I was gonna put em in there, but Dean guitars are tools are and went after him and his customers so I canceled😢
Nice riffs and mix! All the pickup options sound great but I personally preferred the Kiesel Lithium followed closely by the Fluence in passive mode. Just something about that subtle tonal thickness.
Yoooooo Tommy ! Tones are sick, I am not the best judge , not terribly crazy about most modern pickups. I would have to agree with you , I liked the Lithium pickups. Fishman pickups are the next craze , in the active mode sounded best. Good job man !
Did I hear you say the Fishman's were noisier? I thought one selling point of the Fishman's were that they were quieter than regular pickups. Haven't played them personally so I'm curious.
If you didnt hadnt told me they were different pickups I would not have known, that said because I was trying to find the difference the Fishman in either mode had that slightly more open lower end, which sounds good to me. All killer though! And yeah as you say, between the eq pedal and the amp eq youd nail the other pickups tone no worries.
If I create my own Kiesel, I always get active purely because it’s a lot easier for a guitar tech to install passives or you have to put the battery in the back chamber or take a risk in having one cut out the body for a battery compartment. Either way, all tones sounded great but that’s because of the player himself. \\m//
@@colelewis9940 maybe it comes from my ears but I feel the Lithium really full on low mids, not as open an breathy. I thought this is Andy James pickups of choice because of this. Maybe I'm wrong.
@@YosDeadman Andy James uses kiesel active polarity pickups. Which I happen to have in my kiesel as well. They are extremely high in low mids and quite compressed, however sound extremely smooth and balanced. The lithiums on the other hand are basically the opposite.
@@brokenlevelmusic I hear you on that. I'm often surprised when I find how far some guys have their pickups from the strings...that's another option if you're trying to get different output pickups to work about the same through the rig without turning gain down, or having to make any other adjustments.
Make a new comparison video and then maximize the sound for each guitar. Now you use the same eq and that makes it a unfair comparison imo. Also how the strings vibrate make a difference so tune litteraly every guitar the same, use the same string gauges and also even out the pickup height. For what it’s worth according to this video the Lithiums sounded good but a bit thin. The Fishman had more beef especially active mode

Thanks man I needed this exact video 🤘🏻
🙏🤘
Right bout the passive fishman

Thats cool man, first Kiesel?
A great comparison, thank you bro. Sounds loud and brutal 🤟
I prefer the lithium pickups. They sounded fuller and still cut through.
Great stuff man! Killer riffing and great tones!

@@brokenlevelmusic go with Wilde Bill Lawrence, not BL USA ✌
The fishman actives sound best , makes it sound like you have mean consistent pick attack, the passives feel better I know

Fishmans sound good and pretty heavy but they're a little harsh. I prefer the Lithiums for the darker and cleaner sound. Just a little bit compressed.
The lithiums are NOT more compressed

@@colelewis9940 by the way, as a lucky owner of a Kiesel. How can you describe it ? We don't have this possibility here in France.
I can’t tell any difference. Both awesome
Broken level,
Regarding the Fishmans being too hot, can't you just turn them down a bit on the guitar and get similar output as the passive?
Sure I guess, but who runs guitar volume less than 100 in metal haha

What VST are you using for the drums? Cheers!
Ez drummer or Olas drums

Fkn heavvyyy 👹!!
I’m almost 15 which means I hear very well. Fishman Fluence is better than Kiesel.
Not enough difference imo to have to pick. Take either set and go.
