just received the tread + not real happy with the sales dept. I was told I could use all the streaming devices without having the subscription from peloton. Not the case! You cannot do anything with the screen unless you subscribe to their service.
If the new guard is designed to fit the existing dimensions of the current +, they can announce sooner in hopes current + owners will upgrade for a fee in hopes to retain some current owners. Since I presume they will be more expensive with upgraded components (chip and monitor; as those currently run on some very old outdated hardware). They can then use the small number of trade ins as bin parts for studios or other needs for older models still in use. My hopes at least since I’m a + owner.
We love ours. Not sure I would want the new one. We dont have the same circumstances that caused the recall of our +. You would think Peloton would want to provide incentive to get the existing + back since they keep pushing the refund date further out. I put the "full refund" date in my calendar and are hoping we can time it right if we decide to utilize the recall. Just my $.02.
I criticize Peloton a lot - but the Tread+ is truly a good treadmill. While they stole the slats idea from Woodway - I think they actually built a great platform. I tried it out a few years ago before the gaffe - and I was imporessed.
I run 3-4 times a week on my tread+ and love it. The safety issue was dramatically exaggerated. It’s no less safe than just about every other tread out there.
I feel like those of us that opted to keep the recalled product are owed some safety remedy if the + ever comes back to market. It also doesn’t benefit peloton to have any machines in homes that don’t meet the new enhanced safety standard. Maybe they’ll allow us to trade in for the new version if an after market fix isn’t possible
Once in a while you can clearly see instructors still walking/running/hiking on a Tread+ during classes - even recent ones. Just kind of interesting how Peloton has had their instructors using their recalled product even after all this time.
Cause there is nothing wrong with the original tread plus, parents need to watch children!! Knives, cars, electrical outlets are all dangerous!! Keep away from children.
What I'm looking for is a sleek treadmill (ideally with a peloton-esk screen) that allows streaming apps but still shows running info while watching. Hopefully one that isn't north of $2,500... I've thought about using a tablet but most treadmills are unnecessarily ugly and many of the ones that I've seen have the tablet/phone mount directly in front of the running info you'd want to keep viewable. I don't get it man. So many people just want to watch TV on that screen and not pay a subscription for classes. I just don't get why these companies aren't listening to consumers and including a decent sized screen with a few pre-install streaming apps. Exercise equipment priced at 5K is for people with money to burn.
@@a3refillpadhe’s saying he doesn’t understand why manufacturers can’t just make a screen that has a UA-cam , Hulu, Netflix, and or other streaming services we can sign into. It’s not a hard ask by any means. This type of ask is so cheap to do especially on a treadmill priced at 2.5k. Most tablets costing 50 dollars have this. It’s quite standard now to have such a feature. It blows my mind as well why they don’t have that
People will complain about the $5K, but I don't know of many slat treadmills that run much cheaper.
$5k I'm good with. The monthly subscription cost is the issue.
@@TheDaveANHthe monthly rate is absolutely mental Apple fitness plus is only 10 dollars and I slightly prefer it
I still love my tread+. Best $5k i spent. Slat treads are wayyy more comfortable to run and walk on.
Thank you for your insight. I'm hoping it's out by this holiday season!
I wish they had a version with the slat belt but regular tread deck size

The new peloton tread is already in stores but not for sale yet. I just saw it in stores a week ago. The rep said it would be around 5k!

I bet it’ll be $6,000
Bingo.
I love my Peloton Plus. The treadmill is a tank.

@@troyholl99 you’re probably right and they likely had more incidents by virtue of being a bigger company

its coming back as a non-baby killing machine now, wooh
I just want it to come out so that the tread’s price drops. I don’t need bells and whistles.

You don't understand why manufacturers are not making a cheap treadmill without subscription that still has all the features of an expensive one?

I wound still rather have the strength device 😢
still not back. companies do this so they keep you on the hook (i.e hold $5000 of your money while you could get another similar treadmill).
Highest Peloton Stock Price $167.42 1/13/21
Lowest Peloton Stock Price $8.69 7/14/23
It cost $6500
