I'm starting to understand that victim mentality is a mindset that holds people back, no matter what race they are.
(1) She tries to dominate the conversation by constantly talking over him.
(2) When confronted by facts, she launches into an emotional speech which doesn't address the facts and gets her as far away from those facts as possible.

It's sad to see people living in the past and not the present, and blaming another race for their misfortune. I'm mixed, and it's about grabbing opportunities (western world is full of them), applying yourself, working hard and not expecting a free lunch. My dad wasn't perfect, but I had a role model and he helped me financially to complete my studies. This is one of the biggest problems in our community; lack of father figures.

My full blooded native dad grew up as a foster kid after his own dad beat his mom until she eventually shot his dad. After that he was kicked out of so many foster homes that he ended up on a boys ranch, where he was eventually put in court and was about to be put in adult jail but he turned his life around. He worked hard his whole adult life and now owns his own hunting lodges. You can turn your life around, even if you grew up on a reservation with no parents.

I am white European. My grandfather worked in the Cole mines, as did his father. My ancestors were peasants, farmers etc. They worked for small wages and died young.
