As a black woman who is also a veteran I resent her referring to the GI bill and veteran home loans as a hand out. A reward for serving your country is not a handout, ma'am!
Amen sister. We need soldier and sailors and that is a selling point. Then you put in money when your epically under paid. Then you let the scum of the death try to kill you. Damage your body, work weekends holidays. Never see your family. Take vaccines you don't know what in it. Eat horrible food. If you don't end up dead you goto college and get educated. Then you make more money and the government taxes you more. I'm proud of my military service but it is slavery your sign up for. All societies will always need a warrior class on stand by.
Thank you for your Service. You earned anything you received and you still didn't receive what you should for Service to your Country. This lady is disrespectful to you and our Service Members and Veterans. You have my respect and I Salute you!
Funny how you need to add you are a black women to being a veteran. 🤨 I am sure you were combat arms in the front lines with those “white boys” who deserve it less because they are not black or women. My hat’s off for you, miss black war hero!
As a white male veteran, I couldn’t agree more. It’s an incentive and a benefit for serving. It’s well known that we don’t get paid much in the military so the military makes up for it with a little extra bonus. The GI Bill doesn’t cover all of college costs but it helps. The VA Loan isn’t an interest free loan or even a loan from the military or government, it only backs our credibility when applying for a loan at the bank. Even re-enlistment bonuses aren’t hand out’s because it’s money added to ur regular pay for an incentive for a new contract of service and isn’t even paid in full until ur contract time is completed. We don’t get overtime pay for pulling extra duty or for being out on field exercises for weeks or months at a time.
@@kurtsherrick2066well she wasn’t disrespecting the military or soldiers, she was uniformed about the military’s benefits program to make up the the lack of pay while in service. It’s ignorant and she’s wrong but I doubt she meant it personally against soldiers. My opinion and I’m a veteran myself.
She said white veterans got loans they never had to pay back. As a 20 year Navy veteran, I never heard of that.

As a Nigerian, could I ask you for your take on my take on this type of obviously successfull Black woman: All of this Black Power via Black Fragility is being used to enrich and empower the Black upper-class. They are benefitting from keeping the lower-class Blacks poorly educated and doing stupid, violent things that force bad optic reactions from White people that allow them to further the racism narrative that gives the Black upper-class more power and privilege. All these efforts to fight racism via affirmative action and preferences is not helping the Black lower-class at all. All the benefits mainly help the Black upper-class just get wealthier and more powerful. The growing wealth gap, that should be focused on, is between the Black upper-class and the Black lower-class. This country is being torn apart with guilt over the Black lower-class not being able to get their act together no matter how much is done to try to make things better, but we have to realize that we are being played by the Black upper-class. We need to find a way to separate out the Black upper-class from the racism hustle.

Black WW2 vets went to war, fought for freedom and democracy from a segregated foxhole and were not compensated for it at the same rate as Caucasian soldiers when they returned to the land of the free. My Black father fought for this country in the Philippines, Guadalcanal, Wake Island and Iwo Jima. He was wounded, received a Purple Heart (which I have) and he received Battle stars for seeing action in those islands. When he returned to the good ole USA, he was informed that the GI bill homeowner's program excluded those not of Caucasian ancestry. So much for compensation.

Chief the GI was originally for white soldiers only and remember the services were segregated back then so there were a lot of military services that were available to black servicemen

Chief wow I have to keep explaining this to you. Blacl servicemen were denied access to the GI Bill despite the fact they served just like their white counterparts. Now what else do you need to know that you cant look up for yourself
The denial of tne GI Bill to black servicemen had a huge effect on the slowing of tne growth of the black middleclass and all of this can be verified by looking up what I have stated
Absolutely right I work for a union company and the only results they showed was more money taken off my paycheck. We still worked 70 and 80 hours it was absolutely ridiculous! If you're a hard worker you don't need a union.

I did work study in a Portland, OR, community college admissions dept and can say 100% they do lower the standards for blacks; I heard, directly from the head of the dept, that _no_ _women_ in their program to develop teachers from black inner-city women were to be failed from the program, no matter what. I directly saw the files of these candidates, containing examples of their work, abilities, and backgrounds, which, for the most part, showed pathetically poor skills and frequent criminality. Now these unskilled, criminal, frequently racist-against-nonblacks ghetto women are teaching all of Portland's children.

A couple years ago, Rutgers established a policy that non whhytes are not to be judged/ graded by professors by the same standard as whites in regard to their spelling, sentence structure, grammar, etc. This is their policy in writing. Seattle began their, "math is racist," campaign because non whhytes couldnt pass the dumbed down proficiency tests. The largest school districts in CA no longer give Ds and Fs to non whhyte students. Thete are thousands and thousands of Asians who take 6 years to complete 2 year community college and of course, more funding is required for them. When I say non whhyte in these examples, this includes nor just blaqs, but hispanics, Asians, all non whhytes. CA used to have a great school system, both K through 12 and the many universities and community colleges here. We are almost at the bottom now. Only 21% of the students in CA public schools are whhyte. People are pouring out of CA. Only 35% of the state is whhyte and dropping. CA is finished.

I worked for a private firm , and i had sick days, personal, bereavement, and family leave .
I interviewed with the IBEW union in ohio yesterday. NO PAID DAYS OFF! No sick days, vacation, etc.
He is absolutely correct. I work for the USPSand my wage has only gone up $8 since 1998. I work twice as hard as most people but we all get paid the same. Our top union guy who was in negotiations just got caught misusing union funds and bounced on the negotiations. Their is mo incentive to work hard here. I do it because I'm old school and my dad taught me that! Unions are a waste.

Racism, once allowed in to pre-empt merit, is like a cancer on society.

I believe this woman messed up her math.... Possibly because of lower standards placed on her. I think she meant 8% which is a .08 share of their check
@switzer5154Actually, she said .08 percent, which equates to .0008 therefore 20 / .0008 = 25,000 so John appears to be correct. (reference timestamp: 8:15 ) However if she mispoke and meant .8 percent (.008) then that would equate to $2500 (20 / .008) per pay period which could be more realistic.

My father was part of a union and a democrat. He had protection under the law. The only thing he had to do was show up for work on time and leave on time. I saw people on the job SLEEPING. Nothing ever happened. What about college educated people who have no protection from the government. We have to perform

My brother was in the National Guard, never got anything. Got sent to Irag in '02. Some time later the military tried to make those guys return their hazard pay. My brother is white.

That’s so true, my sons SAT was a lot higher than his black and Hispanic friends but didn’t get into university. His friends got in.

I worked for a company that had union workers. I was in management but had nothing to do with dealing with the union. What a frigging nightmare. They once threatened to strike if they didn’t get their birthday off with pay. Lol

In 1984 I took the written test for LAPD. It was a 6th grade level test. I finished in problem 15 minutes. I didn't get hired . Thank God. But that was at the height of affirmative action. So they lowered the standards for blacks to get into LAPD.
