I love this show so much , this show is so special to me , it’s part of my life , I was born in 76 one year before this show , I grown up watching it as kid , I’ve started to watch it again from season one 1977 it’s absolutely amazing time travel , the fashion , the cars .... man this tv show is a time warp and truly Americana registry’s document , so awesome I am huge fan , so well done , I love the 74 Dodge Monaco they use in the first season, the Afro dude drives one he’s so cool , “Bear” also drives a Dodge Monaco , they are one of the most legendary police interceptors made so famous by the one and only the blues brothers

And this, ladies and gentlemen, are one of many corny freeze frame endings that makes "CHiPs" the iconic series it is today LOL. I'll always love this show.

The freeze frame is not corny. You have lost touch with the well respected quality shows of this time. You have become one with the millenials. It was a creative signature of the time. The show went into the 80s, so the directors and producers knew what they were doing.

Hard to believe they ever considered Larry Wilcox for the role as Sonny Crockett in Miami Vice. He was just too nice to ever be Crockett. Then there's Michael Dorn who went on to play Worf in Star Trek, The Next Generation.
I guess you just never know where people are gonna end up in the future.

Supposedly Erik Estrada and Larry Wilcox hated each other during filming, but they made a good pair on the show. My brother and I watched CHiP's religiously as kids.

I couldn't believe it on the show they seemed like good friends This was the cause of Larry's departure.
Erik Estrada was the show stealer this annoyed Larry Wilcox.
@@Zzsmuf I watched a documentary a while back that stated that Jon Baker was the reliable guy that all the women wanted as a husband, but that Ponch was the guy that all those same women would use to cheat on Jon. Basically, as they would say in Mexico, Ponch was the "Sancho".

i use to watch this on TBS and TNT all the time back in the late 80s and mid 90s. I wish TBS would bring back a variety of old shows and movie and stop trying to be like comedy central.

I watched CHiPs back in the late '70s when it first ran on NBC. I was always disappointed they never drew their guns. Then when TJ Hooker came on tv, then the guns were drawn.
You kidding I'm glad they didn't draw their Guns and these days they're opposite, too trigger happy, ready to pull those guns out I mean I'm not stupid I know it's different when they need to but when they don't.
And criminals were shot and killed if necessary.

I wonder what type of motorcycles they were riding. They seem so SLOW compared to today's superbikes lol. Most of today's cars and bikes would probably leave them in the dust.
Kawasaki 1000 police bikes. They were a very successful bike design that Kawasaki improved upon for years.
