Ruining a 57 year old dress and not even wearing it in the end. Amazing.
I thought the same thing - I was like OMG they ripped apart that poor woman's dress and she not even gonna wear it?!?! Plus that is her mother in law?!? how disrespectful! smdh
That's what got me and it was beautiful! Now that woman lost her mom's dress...
That’s gonna be an issue
Same thing i said! And it looked soooooooo much better than the one se chose
@@lumiere7216 the mother in law passed away. The woman with her is her fiancé’s sister.
They distroyed a really old-beautiful dress and she’s not even gonna wear it.
Yeah, but I wouldn't want to wear it with how awful it looked after the redesign. It's really unfortunate, given all that lovely material to work with. :(
I actually thought what they did with it is very nice, it is a waste though when she's not even going to wear it.
@@ingridnineteen5566 I likes the new something old much better than any of the others
Yeah that was so sad. That dress was beautiful and unique. But now it looks cheap😭
Exactly
Why bother tearing up a family heirloom if your desire is for a new dress..I'd be hurt if I gave my mothers dress to redesigned only to never pick it...
Its not airloom,its heirloom....😜
@@abhilashakr7515 no its not?
@@kitcat5736
They're right ...it's heirloom :)
My mother’s is pure 80s. Poof crazy sleeves, the works. Either me or my sister are gonna wear it. Something is gonna go
Kinda the piont of the show. Its a choice.
And there goes an almost 60 year heirloom. This show makes me nauseous.
Don't watch it?
@@infiniteworlds5 that is my plan. Had never seen it before. Will not watch again.
I've never seen it outside of these clips.
I hate it!
Yet here we are...
Not going to lie. Out of all of the episodes, this one made me truly HURT for the family that gave such a gorgeous heirloom to be cut up and discarded.
The second dress isn't flattering to her figure. The vintage dress should have been cherished not ruined.
The second dress looks like it's about to fall off her entire top half.
I thought it looked great on her
Dewi Lew nah... looks like a tablecloth
It's frumpy
I agree. Hated it. Loved #3
They never even keep the essence of the old dress. They always ruin it.
Sehajpreet Kaur big fact
Yeah, I've seen episodes where it's like "and here in this small back pleat is some of the original lace" and that's like the only part that's still the old dress.
Meredith Jenkins Yeah exactly...
Always!
it's like the sister in 27 Dresses: "oh yeah, I used the belt"🤦🏻♀️
wtf is this show. i could never imagine handing over my mother’s or grandmother’s wedding dress just for someone to make it look like a cheap prom dress. i have no clue why her sister-in-law was so okay with them destroying an heirloom. and on top of it all, she isn’t even going to wear it???
also why a fedora lmao
The burrowed dress looked stunning. It complimented her figure well. The designer did such an amazing job. Plus the fact that it was a family heirloom was like the icing on the cake.
The hat looks goofy. And, the borrowed dress was breathtakingly beautiful as it was.
A FEDORA LMAOOOOOOOO I could never trust this woman with my dress based off her wearing a fedora to her own wedding. M’lady.
Exactly my thought
honestly, if a wedding dress was 57 years old I would keep it that way as a piece of art. If not, I would do some changes to make it more modern without removing the essence of it. Their decision, tho.
I know. . . If I ever get married and decide to wear my Grandma's wedding dress, I might make one or two minor alterations, but nothing that ruins the integrity of the original dress. For some of these dresses on this show, the original was better than the new design (no offense to the designer, but sometimes the original is just better. Not always, but sometimes). I really liked the remake, better than the new dress, but for it to be remade and for her not wear it just sucks.
I would've just wanted it to come in at the waist a bit, have the sleeves a little shorter, and some jewels, it would've looked modern without ruining the whole thing.
When I saw that dress, I thought about just taking the lace and putting it over everything so it flows without feeling cropped in the middle and just taking the sleeves off. The neckline was so pretty. I don't think there is a point to changing the dress to the point of no recognition.
I agree. That aspect has always bothered me about this show.
This show just makes me feel so sad. Cause they destroy these beautiful dresses which belonged to someone who loved them for what they were.
A dress died that day.
I don't get it. Why destroy an heirloom? Why take it in the first place? That dress was beautiful and in the end got ruined....sad.
Why do I watch these clips? They are so upsetting sometimes.
Leslie Sinclair I absolutely agree, totally upsetting when they cut up an heirloom and don’t even wear it!! Yes the one she picked was gorgeous but so was the old one redone and it has so much more meaning and history and emotion behind it. I have to say I would feel so guilty if I cut up an heirloom and then didn’t pick it,I don’t think I could live with myself lol!
Obviously the family has no problem with it so y y'all stressing
@@patbakin3021 some of us have a special passion for vintage fashion, and dress history. Knowing that cloth will always fall apart, some of these dresses are tuly a part of history. So, imagine it's like seeing a painting smashed, or something like that.
I though the borrowed dress at the end looked more like a prom dress...
Same here
Not even like a pretty one though
The hat looks silly.
Sally Walker “The essence of the hat is PuRe kELly”
It really did😅
Periodtt 😂😂

I actually loved the borrowed dress, I think it looked much more unique and pretty the way the designer changed it. But even so, I don’t think any of the dresses she tried on were really that amazing. Especially with how ‘badass’ she wanted to be.
A....
I agree.
I agree
I agree with you, borrowed dress was way better than the new one
Wanted to be a badass and made a bad choice!
i am watching this in 2020 where that dress would've been 64 years old. That dress was history and it has been lost to that cheap looking remake. Like we already struggle to find and document how people dressed in the past because fabrics do not last long and doing shit like this for a ~quirky~ tv show makes my stomach turn.
Why bother "custom" that dress if it's to just make it completely different and not preserve nothing of its integrity. It would be easier to make it from scratch, and it would avoid destroying a piece of history and a beautiful dress.
I disagree with your perspective. While I do understand the history point of view, I also believe half the fun of fashion is, it's ever changing. And while most clothing is destroyed at some point, to be able to breath new life into an item worn one time, is amazing. It may not have been your taste, but the designer did a great job. Clothing is art.
@@Lady.B0420 she really didn't. im glad mermaid dresses stayed in the early 2010s dont get me wrong, but there is a difference between "breathing new life" onto a garment and just stripping it off everything that made that garment. at that point if you are making a new dress just make a new dress and sell the old dress for over a over 600 bucks, there is someone out there that will take care of that dress, the owner makes a quick buck and she ends up with a horrid mermaid tailed tulle dress accessorized with a fedora.
Totally agree, horrible remake. Very tarty, and all for nothing, the heirloom ruined. 😭😭
@@Lady.B0420 yes but clothing is also history. Destroying history is just bad. If she doesn’t like it, fine, don’t wear it, don’t destroy something precious and valuable.
Wrong choice. Thought she had some fashion sense plus WHY destroy a family heirloom and buy “off the rack”???
The new dress fits her body perfectly. Glad she picked that. They ruined the borrowed dress. It was way way way better before.
The second new dress looks older than the borrowed dress. 😂
It was ugly lol
Completely agree
She ruined the borrowed wedding dress I would of kept the way it was
A fedora with your wedding dress? Oh so you want to be an instant meme in your wedding pictures, I see.
😸
And it wasn't even a fedora it's a tophat
r/Nicegirls
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
she said flat out that that's what she wanted.
It's a shame they ruined that beautiful old dress. Should have left it alone. Turned out to be a piece of garbage. Now the family has nothing to remember their mother by. That designer should be ashamed of herself.
Lmao fr? You think the ONLY thing they had was the dress? Get real, there's photos and memories, things the son and daughter did WITH the mother not a wedding gown that existed before them. Its a dress that they probably rarely ever get down and look at
Your just being mean
That designer has her own design show, and most of her styles are dull as dishwater.
@@ellenattridge5049 Finally someone i can relate to. I have seen this designer shows and her dresses on paper look so good but when she makes them they are so dull and basic😒
I’m starting to think they don’t actually redesign the old dresses
The older dress had so much character and they completely destroyed it.
I cannot be the only one who screamed when they destroyed the heirloom dress. Some clothes should not be redesigned! 😩
The old dress is so beautiful and classic😍
So why bring this new designer to ruin it?🤦♀️
That designer even on her own tv show has the most boring and basic dresses and worst is they all are expensive 😓
My heart breaks for the sister-in-law as her heirloom is destroyed.
Kelly never actually intended to wear the old dress so sad😒
The second new dress option looked like a nightgown. Glad she didn't pick it. Yuck.
I love the borrowed dress better than the new. What she made with the borrowed was so unique and gorgeous! It makes the new look plain
Not to be rude, but the second dress she tried on with the very deep neck line, is just aweful!! It doesn't look like a wedding dress at all, but looks like something that would be worn on the wedding night!
This reminds me of in "27 Dresses" where the sister cuts apart the mom's wedding dress without asking
Imagine gifting someone your beautiful cherished heirloom wedding dress for them to have it destroyed and choose not to wear it after at all. I would be absolutely devastated
So they're fine that she is so insensitive to destroy a 57 year old family heirloom & not even wear it?? That's purely cold.
Kelly really is beautiful without all the distractions..... wish she wouldn’t wear the hat... she looks amazing with her hair down....
Wtf? That 2nd dress was hideous and those people are not friends for telling her it looked good.
The neckline was so low there was a concern of a nipslip. Plus looked old tablecloth
“Showing a side of you people don’t know” that’s for sure. Your boobs are out.👀
Thinking about that beautiful old photo and imaging they destroyed that stunning old dress is unbelivable : ( Shame!
So they ruin an heirloom dress and she doesnt even like it? Wtf is this show
The new dress is beautiful but that older gown blow me away. I loved it its so unique and beloved.
So then what do they do with the dress when it doesn’t get picked?
I always wondered the same thing... :/
Sell it I guess
Awkward when the temp can do a better job than you
PikkapikkaChu the temporary designer is actually an amazing designer
Wow this lady has no heart she destroyed her mother's mom's wedding dress that's so sad
I personally loved the borrowed remake, kinda sad to have it redesigned then pick a basic store-bought one?
I loved the something borrowed, the designer really delivered Kelly's vision. I also loved the Victorian riding hat she called a Fedora.
Why cutting up an antique designer dress? Nobody would distroy a 1940's dress either? That dress was a rarety. They could have taken it as a template for the borrowed one, especially since almost none of the borrowed ones get chosen anyway.
I would have picked for me the something borrowed
I would of picked the borrowed dress cause it looked better than the new one
I loved the borrowed one, absolutely precious and special. The one she chose was one of many. In my opinon
You should leave the old dress alone and sell it to someone who would appreciate a beautiful vintage dress.Omg you chose the really boring one!!!
Sometimes the designer and Kelly herself ruined the borrowed dresses. And the sequins and all why are they gold.
Something Borrowed dress was fabulous and a showstopper dress.
Her hair looks so amazing with the white dresses!
" you can't say pimp at your wedding"😂😂😂
Fairy bad ass... The dress she choose isn't even that. The borrowed was so amazing
The hat made it look like a costume. Glad she has that kind of money to just buy weather se her heart desires🙂
Hope they are happy and stay together forever 💕✌🏽
Oh my goodness, the designer who redesigned the borrowed dress totally wrecked it! The bride clearly hated it! I love the dresses that the bride remakes- I would have preferred to see the bride recreate her own wedding gown out of her MIL’s dress. Her chosen dress is beautiful but honestly doesn’t look worth the cost!
God bless you both on this day with a lifetime of shared love and joy ....💖
I liked the something borrowed
The Inbal Dror (second dress) was ugly, like some kind of 70s wedding dress disaster
I know, it was so ugly and poorly fitted for her body.
Daisy Sanders I loved that dress 😞
Nothing wrong with that. Honestly I think 'ugly' was an overreaction; I wanted to like it because I LOVE that fabric, and from the side I love the way the train swooped, but that saggy part under her breasts just....hmmm. If it hadn't been for that.
@@infiniteworlds5 well, it's subjective anyway. Obviously I liked some parts of the dress, but as a whole..? Didn't work, looked a mess and was way too busy.
Yep, agreed. With that fabric, it needed to stay much simpler and more streamlined.
Whoa! The borrowed dress transformation!!!
I actually liked how they transformed the old dress. It didn't quite read wedding to me but all the elements were awesome.
I was really worried when they called that designer in to work on this heirloom dress, but for once it came out really quite beautiful. I hope the bride wears it at other events (or maybe as a second dress for the reception etc), at least.
I wish she had chosen the Something Borrowed. It is amazing, fabulous, unique, wonderful, magnificent! She should buy it anyway! If I could fit into it, I would buy it for myself! It's AWESOME! I have NEVER seen anything so impeccable by Heidi Elnora! A TRULY GORGEOUS dress!!!
The borrowed dress is so GORGEOUS. such a shame she didnt choose it and now an heirloom was ripped apart for nothing!
I was excited to see Meiko! She's an amazing singer-songwriter!
listen, I don't mean to judge but this makes me ill. The old dress was a part of history and it was litterally destroyed! Also who trusted the girl that was going to wear a fadora to her wedding with a 64 year old gorgeous dress!?
The borrowed dress why did they add that detail😩 it quickly turned it into a prom dress and dont get me started on the hat, I spat out my drink as soon as she cane out😂😂 girl if you like it then I love it
ooh i got chills the old dress is so beautiful already can't wait to see
o no :(
They turned a timeless peice into timeless shiiiiit. Atleast wud have left the dress alone or give it to someone who wud treasure it.
The borrowed was transformed into something so beautiful.
I can’t imagine cutting up a family members dress and not choosing to wear it, let alone the in-laws! Sounds like it’s asking for resentment
I love the older dress, it's so Gatsby! I would have kept the style of the top of the older dress for sure. But, Kelly looks stunning in the new dress!! It flatters her already gorgeous figure and illustrates her personality beautifully.
Bad. Kelly should have designed her own something borrowed, I'm sure she would've nailed it
I loved that borrowed dress!!
That something new dress I thought was hideous. Just the pattern on the top it was absolutely awful.
The something borrowed dress was beautiful i know it’s her dress her day but she was stupid not to pick that dress it was gorgeous
I don't get it. You're a designer. You have 10.000 $ that you could spend on the most fabulous materials to create a dress exactly like your vision that fits you perfectly. And instead you go out and buy a dress that looks like every other wedding dress and on top destroy the beautiful artwork that the dress of your future mother in law was??? What were you thinking
That something borrowed dress was exquisite, l hope she picked it
What happens to the borrowed dress, they made out of an old family dress, if she chooses the new one? They pay for two dresses? They want there family dress back too.
the dress she chose was top tier beautiful
Aww, I'm a little sad that she didn't choose the borrowed, but she looks lovely in the new. The Only thing that was a little off for me on the borrowed dress was the pickling of the fabric, but it was still pretty. I went crazy for the bottom section and the back , just beautiful. Well maybe someone in the family will want that dress.
"it's about a head punctuation though"
I can't even
Fuck, that vintage dress was so beautiful, why even touch it, for fuck’s sake
OMG that dress was freaking GORGEOUS. And they ruined it. Like, really. If you're going to tear a dress apart and pretend you made something more beautiful out of it, at least go get one from goodwill and don't rip up a gorgeous vintage masterpiece of an heirloom.
The borrowed one looked better vintage
It got destroyed with the bronze looking beading smh
She should’ve kept the dress original, and wore it for the first dance, then switch to the dress she bought.
She'll look absolutely stunning in any dress
The second dress is simply stunning on her. Like it was maid for her!
I really liked the remade dress this time. It was very elegant.
Why do they destroy the old dress. I don’t get it?
Girl, out of respect, especially the way they chopped up that old dress to the point of unrecognition, I would have chosen the borrowed because they really did a fabulous job w/ it.
The something borrowed was absolutely stunning
She's regretting not designing the old dress. I've watched a few of their other videos where she redesigns the older dresses and they are beautiful.
Only change that beautiful dress needed was adjusting it to fit properly. (The other option was for dress to change the bride) I'm so mad, it was stunning!
Why destroy the family heirloom, when you wont even wear it
Maybe if Kelly was the one who redesigned it, it would have been translated more on her liking.
Stunning simplicity
This one was the wrong choice 😭 I loved the borrowed gown re-done
Out of the 2 new ones I thought the one she didn't pick looked better.
I did like her fedora and I have to admit that she picked a dress that matched it well (and she'll look best in whatever she's happiest in!)
What a crime to destroy a beautiful heirloom gown and turn it into such a hideous dress.
I literally screamed WHAT???? An heirloom destroyed...I'm SO SAD for that family member
