I have met mba's from some of the top schools in india and I didn't find them that intelligent or creative in their work , which shocked me ,so in my view an mba is not required if you have the right passion and vision .

It's always an individual and not the tag they carry with them. Colleges are known from its STUDENTS. But now the scenario has changed and that has really tampered the quality. Mostly, people look at it like a placement agency.
But it gives you the appropriate platform which you could not achieve anywhere! It depends ofc. What you want to do.

So you think there are no skills required to earn a degree. Btw the cherry you're talking about, it takes 5+ years for the cherry plant to bear fruits.
I agree with the base thing. But if your base is limited to being stuck with basic things, it ain't going to help you anyway. Any degree, be it MBA, MS, MSc, Mtech, or whatever, needs shear amount of study, because at the end what your learnt, that matters the more. You'll eventually earn if you know yourself and the world.
Get off the internet, get into the real world. The internet is full of people talking up "Skill" and talking down traditional degrees because it's good fo business. When you go for an interview, at that moment, a degree is the ONLY representation of your skill, which is essential for you to get into any job.

People want to start a business and colleges are crap to learn business beacause they are charging so much
Stop fckn spamming everywhere.
Shouldn't the cost of doing an MBA be factored in while making a decision? Just curious to know how that changes things, considering opportunity cost.
A good IIM cost minimum of 20 Lacs where as other MBA are just cheap. Even my (wont name it) college in Bangalore cost 7-8 lakh but doesn't gives that much experience.
Only IIM Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow and Kozhikode are worth it.

Hey Ankur, while this video really helps one understand why doing an MBA is important and based on whatever you said in the video, it’s more focused toward a full-time MBA, right?
But, what if someone doesn’t have the liberty to leave the job for an MBA & is currently in a role wherein MBA is kind of mandatory, is doing a part-time/online(via upgrad etc) worth it?

Ankur, I'm sure you must have gained a lot of knowledge about businesses and finance, but today in 2021 all such learnings are available online be it finance or marketing. But it's true that the network you build during an MBA is unmatched by online mode of learning.

Yes this is a very relevant topic. I am a PhD in Molecular Biology with 2 yr post doc and 1 year pharma R&D and 2 yrs in healthcare consulting experience. Already 35 yrs old and aspire to be in a leadership position in future. I feel lost and can't decide if I should do an executive MBA at this stage of my career considering the expense and time!

@@dishamehta420 well after your graduation do a job because experience=skills and if you are going in average college you need to have experience because most of students doing MBA from average college are freshers and you will have edge over it and it will be better for you to choose specialization because in organization you will explore fields such as , finance, marketing,IT and according to it you will have better understanding and for freshers salary is almost the same after graduation and after MBA only difference here is growth after MBA you can get promotion but after graduation you will get but it will take time taking current situation into consideration do a job because where I'm working my organization had kept IIT and IIM students on hold and in finance there are numerical, first year(accounts for everyone) , majority theory (differes college to college )

Bro I would strongly suggest you to give gmat and cat and go for 1year executive mba in iim or highly ranked abroad college .. there will be endless opportunities for you and whatever you are earning right now it will definitely doubled and if you are earning around 10 lakh p.a you can earn upto 40-50 lakh domestic and 1cr abroad after successful completion of your mba .. best of luck ! Is it advisable to pursue an MBA in current scenario where classes are being held online with negligible peer interaction as compared to what is the normal during an on campus program?
