    1. You definitely want the camera back.
    2. Put 1 point into Persuasion, and you can make Lukan just leave, getting Fate Pont. Then kill them, an you get another Fate Point.
    3. After getting Hand Cannon in Tarant, move to Ashbury. Take the dog (you should get the dog right after getting into the town, before he get killed). Go to the cemetery. Run circles letting the dog to kill zombies, rising you levels.
    4. I'd take Mad Doctor bio for halfling-sharpshooter, Escaped Lunatic for human. Raised by Monks for beginners

    A bit late but you can pickpocket ristezze key in shrouded hills with just one pickpocket skill level or scum save/reload after failing . This key will break the games economy for you - you can take his gold every 2-3 days resulting in 800-2500 gold every visit to shrouded hills . Now no need to sell or look for gold . Something I do every play through after launch , I can’t be bothered looking for gold every play through . 🍻

      Yeah game breaker, also you can still have decent pickpocket chance with no skills. Also you don't have to wait 2-3 days, you just have your screen look away rest 1 day and look back at his chest again to loot his gold.

    3 months ago Timothy Cain broke down how crits work with called shots.
    I've been updating the wiki with his breakdown of the various code in the game.
    "The called shot To Hit ("TH") penalties for head, arms and legs are -50, -30 and -30, respectively. However you receive a Critical Chance bonus proportional to the To Hit penalty, this makes called shots with weapons featuring To Hit bonuses extremely powerful. Firearms can have these penalties reduced by 1/3rd with expert training, and on a weapon with To Hit bonuses like the Looking Glass Rifle the penalty of headshots can be reduced to a mere -14 while arms and legs actually receive a +10 To Hit and +30 Critical Chance."
    Halfling: 5%
    Fated Rings: 10%
    Mannox Finger: 2%
    Called Head Shot: 30%
    Sleeping Enemy: 30%
    Master Prowling: "Much better backstab crit chance."
    Enemy Knocked Prone, Stunned, Paralyzed: Increased crit chance.

    Just wanted to say, if for whatever reason you don’t want to be someone who was raised by orcs, picking “bandit” as a background isn’t bad. It has a few drawbacks (you will be a couple levels behind w lower perception and you’ll need to scrounge up a bit more cash) but it also gives you a quality revolver to start with which is better than the one doc gives you and a boost to the firearm skill. The revolver gives you a bit more wiggle room at the beginning and might be better for new players. Great guide tho man thanks.

    two questions, 1) Isn't getting the spell for more quickness a short term solution? As you get further in tech, won't spells fail constantly when cast on you? So later on you have a wasted point, right? or does it keep working? 2) Have you tried the Equilibrium rebalance patch? Guns are much stronger so they can compete with half ogre melee damage, but the enemies are harder too, do you think you would still be able to pull this off in that mod? I have not played the game in like 15 years but I used to be pretty good at it, I remember the hand cannon trick but I didn't remember all this, thanks. However, it does kind of ruin the game so I think Ill just stick with your rush to Doc's training and the hand cannon.

    • @jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517
      @jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517  Рік тому

      1. yes it is short term solution mainly used to power through early game. the spell that applies the speed still works with the same bonus as long as your tech aptitude isn't maxed, though it may fail cast a few times, but once successful applies the same effect.
      2. I haven't tried the patch and it sounds interesting enough especially if it gives tech a easier start. Since I am not sure what is changed in the patch I cannot weigh in how effective this guide would be.

      @@jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517 It's been ages since I played Arcanum, I tested and the Earth, Air, Fire, Water buffs are fully workable on a full tech guy (was still working at 70 tech no fails) which I think is an oversight but oh well, it works so its def worth getting the agil (and str imo) buff for every tech char. Never knew that, dummy me read the manual in 2001 and never thought to test buff spells on a tech guy.
      I'm in the process of making my own mod which will buff guns (especially early, you can have a 20 str HUMAN with melee expert by level 5 and be doing 22-27 high speed with a quality sword) whereas the avg lvl 5 gunslinger would be doing 3-12 with a Fine/Quality revolver (unless you use the tactice described here) even then, IMO 22-27 no ammo and more hp beats 5-35 less hp, and that's with a much higher tier weapon. Not balanced. I vividly recall 20 years ago being excited for a new gun and then heaving a sigh ever time I saw the stats. The mod will also buff all the enemies as they are way too weak, more hp, more damage more action points, more willpower. Game should be more balanced between the builds and harder overall when I am done. Equilibrium has nice ideas but it changes a lot of spells, disables a lot of things and adds in some enemies that are over the top, so i opted to make my own. Learning to mod this game is actually brutal vs other games I've modded but ONCE you understand (after hours of swearing face palming and hair pulling) it's quick and simple.

    • @jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517
      @jessesgamereviewstipsandst5517  2 роки тому +3

      Max Harm (40 dmg) OP in that you can cast and hit targets and not enter combat mode until enemies are attacking you where guns starts combat mode as soon as you fire your first attack.
      Harm doesn't miss, gun fire can still miss unless your master fire arm and max technology.
      Harms use mana and so constantly stocking this can be annoying.
      Guns uses bullets and the bullets can weigh alot but only takes 2 slot. Guns also have different STR requirements. Guns requires int and gun expertise which can be worked around using tech manuals and potion of intellect.
      At the end of the day Harm is easier to achieve earlier in the game and does a higher consistent damage.
      Guns seems much cooler so it comes down to preference lol hope that helps.

      the war bringer deals consistent high damage output per a shot with less volatile damage and I would argue deals more damage even per ap cost.
      But again depends on preferred playstyle and preferences for the trade offs

    - I just got this game on steam, is it possible to make a build to get through the game without killing anyone, at all. with the exception of necessary boss guys?
    - my first run of Oblivion, i just went pure speed thief. when rarely had to kill, i just used two daggers and circled fast enough that i could always strike the mobs and armored npc's in their backs. its one of the ways I judge games like this. that you can get through without killing anyone (tutorial doesn't count to me) at all, that's top score. If you can kill everyone in the game, no matter if its children or a npc that is the focus of the main quest. I do understand why they make the main quest line giver invincible though.

Also you can kill certain npc without having it marked on your stats by dropping weapons/gear that poisens user, and npc would pickup and eventually die from the poisen.
      Slower leveling progression, and harder to get through some areas without clearing the enemies but not impossible.
      in Arcanum you can kill all NPC, though most won't make the game break some will. Most will have a note or diary that would allow you to continue the main quest

    I would not name it a "build" to just push the whole set up to quickly develop one combat skill, then utilize flaws in mechanics and knowledge of end game marks on a map to get the end game final gun and that's it, it is not a build, it is easy mode focused on fighting for someone who played the game 100 times. 2 charisma will also not allow to do interesting questing and such approach skips the whole idea and mechanics of schematics in the game. The proper way is to set up skills and parameters for a long run without sacrificing quests, with stage by stage development from first revolver to fine revolver to hand cannon to some medium weapon of choice like blade thrower and keep warbringer till its natural appearance at the end of the game. But hell yeah, the guns playing style is the most difficult and slow one but it leaves free points to invest a bit in magic to take haste and simplify things
